  • i'll bet jim banged her a few times. 8-)

  • i remember seeing this when it was first broadcast and wondering even at that age "where did they dig up that skank?"

  • Gawd, I loved Ruby back then... She was my true, teenaged, 14-year old super-crush!

  • I was a big fan of Black Oak since about '71. I got married (young) in '74. One sister-in-law gave me hell about liking Black Oak UNTIL this Midnight Special. The next time Black Oak came around, she dragged her husband to see them with us. She lusted after Jim Dandy so hard after that concert that I was totally exonerated!

  • LMFAO.....damn, DLR did take a TON from Jim Mangrum's stage persona....LOL Ruby Starr had a hell of a voice...and an attitude to boot from what the members of Blackfoot later recalled after supporting her on a few solo dates.

  • the pc people took over! it was a great time in my life then, i just had to figure out who was gonna get my boons farm for me LOL!! lots of great music in that era :)

  • this was when the world was a grate place to be and the music was so simple. what the fuck happen

  • @MrDRUID27 Isn't it crazy how back when there were only 3 or 4 channels to choose from, you'd count the days waiting for a particular program or appearance? I used to love being able to stay up on the weekends to catch the Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. They featured such a wide variety of acts. You never see anything like that on TV anymore.

  • @Fenstrosity I agree 100 %.... now its all just infomercials and ?????? even MTV ( which was set to be a 100% music video music channel) is forever lost.... marketing , marketing . marketing...

  • Rest of the concert please!!

  • i all ways liked black oak. i saw them once in heavener ok. and loved it:)

  • I remember watching this. My friend and I looked forward to it for a week. We made such a big to do about it, my parents stayed up and watched it with us. They thought we were crazy. BOA has always been one of my favorite groups. I'd love to see them in concert again!!!

  • Now we all know where David Lee Roth got his schtick, and, PS. yes that is Tommy Aldridge stompping that big double bass rig in the back!

  • Ah, what a great time to be young, high, horny, and proud! No one pitched a fit about their rebel flags on network TV back then either. The flags underscore DIXIE, nothing more. Why did the U.S. turn so wrong and intolerant?

  • @BeauEvil That's what's wrong with this country to many pansies are PC if something offends you turn it off!BOA wa sone of the best live bands in the 70's. THEY FUCKEN ROCKED!!!!

  • Ruby had theeee best hair!

  • Notice the drummer? A very young Tommy Aldridge. The girls name is Ruby Starr. Played with these guys several times growing up...they were awesome.

  • @curtisclark13 Tommy..one of my early idles. he still plays great..looks great to. Love his Pat travers stuff

  • Freakin awsome

    this is awesome

  • Every body says that Bret Michaels and Company learned from this, they may have, but AXEL ROSE took it to heart!!~

  • @QueenTerri2011 David Lee Roth took a lot from Jim Dandy too...

  • @MrStonesword Jesse James Dupree
