Not sure. Maybe you have more than one curve to stroke on a single path layer. You might need to make new path layers in the paths palette before you create a path.
This is how I use the pen tool as well. Minimal points REALLY makes a difference. I have illustrator and I really love it for this pen tool, I find the photoshop one to be trickier because I can't change the strokes and what not, only change it to brush. I'm really liking your tutorials; they're simple yet VERY informative.
Great tutorial! I have a problem though, when i stroke the path it only strokes some of the outline than gets lighter and disappears. basically it doesn't outline the whole picture just some, what am i doing wrong?
Thanks! I try to get to the point without a lot of preamble, which has the downside of meaning I risk skipping what someone might consider an important step.
every time I try and do a stroke path it says sub stroke path... what am I doing wrong?

Thanks. : )
You need to uncheck a box marked 'Simulate Pressure' - a useful feature in some cases, but not what you want in your example.

this is how i use the pen tool and I think its the most efficient way to use it. I wish illustrator pen tool behaves the same way.

I'm adding this to my favorites for later because anything that can help me learn to love my pen or understand it will be an investment.

At 1:04 it betrays me right in my own demo. O pen tool, why must you torment me?

Nice. I found this useful. Some people may find it confusing, but I'm not other people so I shouldn't assume. lol
