  • right ear....left ear.....right ear.....left ear.....switching to another video

  • He's just playing really fast, and most of it doesn't even sound like music.

  • HE DID HAV LESSONS BEFORE!!!! little ones tho, but he admitted it on the ELLEN SHOW!!!!

  • Wrong, he had lessons before:

    watch?v=9P0jmuPCzx0&feature=related

    here's the proof.

  • I play the violin and have the same name as him0_o

  • My left ear enjoyed this....

  • @ watch him on Ellen he says he gives 50% of the money to his mom, he keeps some for himself, and puts the rest in his college fund.

  • He's kind of full of himself....I think many people these days abuse the idea of classical music but I think that more people should be able to understand it and enjoy it.

  • @freakificationism He's not full of him self he goes out there every day to make money probably for his family

  • @freakificationism i agree...

  • @freakificationism I play classical, I have a video up...

  • That 70 show;)

  • cool kid

  • Dayum, wish I could play violin that good without lessons

  • He's got some talent, i wish i would be as talented as him!

  • Lol it's cute how he hold his now :) its too big for Jim ^_^

  • Wow,for Ashton to notice his talents is huge for him. Congrats on that. He was deff in the right place at the right time.

  • This is no prodigy. He's good for someone who hasn't had a lesson, but it's not hard to play a fast piece of music if you practice it enough(especially when staying in first position and your hand is a quarter of the way up the bow stick...)

  • OMG I love ashton he is soooo HOT!!!!!!

  • I hate it when the top comments are replies...

  • wooooww!! Its a wonder people weren't mobbing Ashton as he was taking this video.. was he in disguise or somthin?? this boy is lucky, i woulda been happy just to see Ashton let alone get 20 bucks from him! now hes making the big money all thanks too mister Kutcher ! he just made this little boy rich!!

  • Ashton, A 100 could have been nice.

  • @BaBeVBitCh that video got him something priceless, you idiot. 100 wouldn't mean sht compared to this

  • @vanisher911 Bitch did I ask for your 2cents? I don't think so. It was a sarcastic comment. Ellen brought me to this video, so I know exactly what it got him. You think you're all brains or something? Why don't you try vanishing off the face of the earth. Mr Vanisher911. You're and idiot who cant spot out a sarcastic comment.

  • @BaBeVBitCh umad, BabeBitch?

  • Never had a lesson? Then what did he say he quit on account of how boring they were on Ellen?

  • people like him are treasure among all the trash around.. have a reason to live.

  • Awesome.

  • That song isn't the beast, move on kid..

  • @kelagen I agree

  • God bless his soul

  • I wouldn't say he's a prodigy... He's just playing the same song over and over again like I play violin and honestly thats not even hard especially if you keep playing it everyday so you keep getting better at it...

  • He has okay techniques>> looks like he spends most if his time trying to play fast..... but i don't think I can call this prodigy(used to play violin and now bass player) because he has yet proven himself to be able to play melodies

  • Young Buddha! :D No but really this dude is aweosme

  • Aston is really cool. That's a once I'n a lifetime to randomly see him

  • He seems to be doing more for the attention than the love for music and violin.

  • Why was Ashton in Philly? Rittenhouse! I knew this guy looked familiar!

  • i bet the woman on the phone @ the end was like, can you please STFU?!??!

  • $20! That's All

  • Did the narrator just say that the kid said he never had a lesson? Because I just saw him on Ellen and he said he took some.

  • @ZombieHunter2619 He said he took a months worth of lessons then quit because it wasn't challenging enough.

  • @asswhole239 A month worth can be quite a bit and to say you never had lessons is a lie.

  • Cool story!

  • this has nothing to do with cultur or passion

  • This Kid is self taught too...he's too amazing

  • i have been taking private lessons for about three years now and im not that good.

  • @regaldrifter I'd like to see you do that after two years NO lessons

  • Hey this is cool i know that a billion people have mentioned your bow hand so i wont ask u about it. U are amazing. I play the violin myself & cannot do that, im in book 1. Ur awesome

  • let me see someone who just said hes not a prodigy pick up the violin with no lessons and be like that after two years. yeah, hes not really that clean but he has raw talent.

  • Very good for 2 years.

    ~

  • Holy Shit, i seen him one time at Rittenhouse aahha great things do happen

  • wow... i go to church with him haha he much older now, his nickname is justus .... ( thats what we call him ) so... yeahh

  • he is AMAZING and perfect in all his imperfections...

  • All these haters are just jealous! xD i know i am

  • He's not holding the bow right.

  • hes not a prodigy at all.

  • even for self taught for two years, it's kind of not very amazing. at all.

  • does he only know one song?

  • Not a prodigy!!!

  • not bad for someone who's self taught

  • Self taught....wow! I hope he gets a good education besides his natural talent.

  • It's probaly easier 2 hold the bow the high up cuz he plays it soo fast

  • @xSnoweyexp

    1. Ashton Kutcher videotaped him, and since a celebrity taped him, he'll become a celebrity too, regardless of the level of talent. Ashton Kutcher made a very ignorant mistake when he titled the video "Prodigy".

    2. People who have no true understanding of musical talent will find this "amazing!" Because he's throwing his bow on the strings and playing random notes at high speeds, but playing at high speeds is not AT ALL difficult in first position, which is where he stays.

  • wtf. on the ellen show he said he had lessons and they got boring but on here, he sad he never had a lesson

  • damn :S im sorry but this guy plays terrible, out of tune out of key why the hell on earth does he gets all this attention ??!!!

  • This kid sucks.

  • @bryceortz agreed

  • On Ellen he said he gave up on lessons because he found them too easy.. But here he says that he's never had lessons at all?

    Hm...

  • not to mention he's playing everything in first position. This does not constitute violin playing let alone the title of violin prodigy.

  • leave it to musically clueless idiots like Ashton Kutcher to give undeserved publicity to marginally talented little kids like this.

Anyone who has taken violin or fiddle lessons knows that the kids is terrible. His intonation sucks and whatever melody he's attempting to produce is completely incoherent.

  • I LOL'd when the dude called him a virtuoso

  • He probably would be impressive if he had some training.

  • his bow hold is not correct

  • Hey! I don't see YOU playin' as crazy good as I am! Plus it doesn't matter how much lessons you get, it just matters if your GOOD!!!!! God, you jerk! ( the guy who wrote under me )

  • He went to my school and this girl in my class had a crush on him. He knew.

  • That DOUCHE BAG! Aw bless his heart, he's so illiterate he cant speak right! " I get this adr, adrenaline rush when people are crowds n' standin' by. " WOW THIS KID IS STUPID AND CANT PLAY THE VIOLIN EITHER, HA! I CAN PLAY BETTER THAN THAT AND IM ELEVEN! WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!

  • @TheLEMONDHEADS you need to stfu u are a true douche bag just for bagging on him.... I dont speak right you gpt a problem?!!

  • @TheLEMONDHEADS oh and you probably had lessons he taught hi self to play ha! ur a joke!!

  • @lljjkk21 The violin is a particularly difficult instrument to learn without the proper guidance of a good teacher. Some people can teach themselves, some can't. This kid can't. It would be different if he had taught himself well. All this kid did was teach himself to play nothing special with speed but no clarity or passion and very little actual talent and completely improper form. He's a kid playing WITH a violin much more than he is a kid playing a violin.

  • Yo, I know this kid and he's fantastic!

  • again, a video where velocity brings everyones attention, i mean ok, he can play, but not because playing fast means he is a virtuoso he is lack of technique, if he want to be better he needs a soon as possible music classes, then he will be great

  • amazin!! :) tats a new way to hold a bow

  • oh no, people, he is extremely talented!! You need to hear him live and then those of you who have critized him would just eat your words.. I always see this kid when I walk back from work, from the gym, on the weekends or week nights.. (I live two blocks away from Rittenhouse) and I've seen him rocking that violin! and trust me: I know about music and notes.. No point in putting him down, really.. Like someone said, even if he's not the best, he can only get better!

  • hes young but his eyes make him look old...anyways hes amazingly talented

  • Never had a lesson? LOL. He admitted on Ellen he had taken lessons, but stopped. He's ok, though he lacks any musical talent . If you want to see TRUE talent, check out 7yr old Brianna Kahane (now 8).

Anyone can learn the violin, but it's extremely hard to master the violin's dynamics , which are what gives the violin its characteristic voice. This kid lacks those skills.

He should save all the money he gets from people fooled to believe he has talent , for college, cause music isn't for him.

  • Poor him

  • i honestly dont think hes too good to be getting all this attention

  • The entire 'kid playing music amazingly in the park' reminds me of August Rush :P

  • what the hell are you even talking about. get your panties out of your ass. hes fun and awesome, get over it

  • @thisismikestanley Thank you, I completely agree. Unfortunately, the world is full of ignoramuses who will believe anything the media tells them.

Whatever this kid is doing, it's neither violin playing nor fiddling. He's essentially playing a bunch of random notes in first position at a fast tempo. It's amazing how easily people are impressed.

  • @wrathofskorm I agree, after two years he's still in first position and still has tape on his violin? Don't even get me started on how he's holding his bow lol. That would be a lack of proper training I guess. A couple months with a decent teacher would rectify many of his basic errors and with a couple years more practice under proper guidance and instruction he could be a good player. But here tbh I'd just walk faster to get out of hearing range if someone was disturbing the peace like this.

  • Ashton if you are ever in Philly again, look for this other kid that plays one mean Violin and knows what he's doing, he's about the same age as the other fine violinist.

A Great musician too. I mean top shelf.

  • I know that kid!!!!!OMG!!!!

  • hes lieing. he said he had lessons when he was on the ellen show lol. but no dout hes good. he auditioned at my school. a girl told me he was amazing. i dont see him in school. no one does. he diident get in. i wonder why

  • @yeaokmike dude i went to school with him he got musical talent but his grades and attitude were the problem he would spend hours in the music room messing with garage band and stuff

  • you can tell by listening to him speak that he is a good kid with great potential. his success should make everyone happy.

  • man i know that guy!!!! and for all those

h8rs who say there better ur not the one who got famous... SO SHUT UP!

  • he's SO cute!!!

  • This is cool, Justus is my brother's friends brother!

  • hes soooo fineee

  • he's so cute and it's amazing how he taught himself!

  • Justus you are truly gifted and an inspiration to my boys when they saw you on the Ellen show.

  • Kids like Justin make this Philadelphia great. Thanks for giving your music to the city and the world.

  • the youngbawl sick .. haha ..

  • Hes not that good -.-

  • yeah, it's not like he's en route to Curtis, but for a kid who's only been playing a couple years and probably has had few if any private lessons it's pretty clear he's got some serious musical talent inside...his ears are quite good.

  • GO JUSTIN :D UR AWESOME :D he goes to my school :P gamp student :D

  • @JonessaxJonasxNessa Well he dosnt.. because is name is Justus and you said Justin

  • @JonessaxJonasxNessa if you go to his school then how come you can't even spell his name right?

  • @JonessaxJonasxNessa it's justus.......

  • @cheybreezy That's a cool name. I like how it's spelled.

  • @JonessaxJonasxNessa

HIS NAME IS JUTUS NOT JUSTIN.. YEAH HE GOES TO YOUR SCHOOL.. FUCKING IDIOT

  • @xSkyed he's name is Justus..

  • @JonessaxJonasxNessa he goes to your school but you dont know his name.

  • @JonessaxJonasxNessa ur so lucky!

  • This kid is amazing! I just saw him on Ellen Degeneres and he played Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" and it was insane!

  • What a very gifted kid! :)

  • He's flippin balls cute and badass:D

  • are you people mental?

  • I totally agree with AtomHeartFather42

  • Justus was great on the Ellen Show! He was in the right place at the right time with talent that someone (who happened to be famous) noticed. Justus has a very promising future.

  • Im so proud of you Justin!!!!! Fellow GAMPer. -Kyle

  • omg aww he go 2 ma skool.!! GAMP ALL DA WAY.!LOL

  • ^_^

  • *cute

  • Cut kid! Great personality, too. He was great on the Ellen show.

  • I just viewed Justus on the Ellen show and I think he is marvelous. It is a good thing when a child thrives at his ambitions. For him to stand on a corner and play his heart out showed his drive. It so happen that his guardian angel stood over him and destiny came into place. Justus will be a good role model for other kids his age. You go Justus!

  • I'm not downplaying his abilities as child who is comfortable with the instrument and can do great things without lessons but the intense flattery of this news clip is too much. Justus has improvisational skills beyond people who have been studying under a teacher for years but calling him a "prodigy" and a "boy wonder"? That is why the Josef Gingold comparison. I'm not getting into a youtube flame war over something I had already forgotten about.

  • it takes people years and many lessons to get as good as justus

  • That was a really nice thing for someone whom is Ashton Kutcher to take notice like this, really nicely for a performer that really has a nenergy for music and was noticed to help further his dream professionally, COOL!

  • There is no way Ashton Kutcher made this kid viral. I can see him being good for some street corner change because he's got the gimmick of being young but the he's not even pre-amped.

You want to hear about young kids who are good without taking lessons? Read about Josef Gingold.

  • Yeah Justus.!!! Represent For North Philly..

  • thats my lil homie he goes to my church, Victory Outreach Philadelphia, in North Philly, he is really really good, he plans all kinds of instruments, way to go lil homie!!!

  • OMG JUStUSI CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR FAMOUS WOW YOU ARE IN MY CLASS AND YOU LIKED ME ahaha aw.

  • sadie didnt want him in his class so he kicked him out and never got a really leson

  • HE IS IN MY CLASS ! AMAZING

  • Hey Thats Justus ..

Omg iKnow Him Very Well !

    He's In My Class &All :)

Im So Happy For Him ,

  • I go to Drexel and I photographed this kid for my photography class! He's amazing and he gave me some great photos!

  • omfg ! I know this kid. he's in my grade at my school . he goes to GAMP ! like seriously no lie !
