  • The part starting at 2:00 makes no sense. If the holes in the flask are taped over and plaster is poured over the wax tree, how can the wax melt out of the holes later when the plaster has hardened? It must melt out of the bottom, so why not use a solid flask? This part needs to be re-worded.

  • Mine was about 1000 dollars because it's so labor intensive to make it

  • The price ranges from expensive to expensive

  • how do u record this

  • I play flute and my teacher for homeroom is also our science teacher so I showed her this video she heard the three magic words solids, liquids, and gases

  • Did she really just say "these ones"? 2:16

  • Flutes just got a whole lot more awesome in my book.

  • Oh my gosh. Those flutes are expensive! If you look on the yamaha site they're only like 100-200 dollars! Thats weird.

  • @10greendonuts123 those yamaha ones you're looking at are just nickel plated student models

  • @Chris4215B It's true!

If it isn't a brand that specifically makes flutes only the majority of the time they suck.

  • Wow. I didn't know any of that!

  • That brand like 50,000$ or whatever. There usually around 1,000 for a gemeindhart.. However it's Spelt. There great.

  • @xXxTalkingxTurtlexXx These are made out of precious metals.

  • Flutes can be expensive because some of their materials are like made of GOLD and silver! Do u guys know who's James Gallway? He's a professional flute player and his flute's like PURE GOLD! not sure tho but his flute's color is GOLD!! (;

  • wow ive seen this like six times i know exactley how to make a flute (almost) lol

  • 48 000 Dollars? I think that's more than most economy class cars. It's fucking ridiculous.

  • 48,000 DOLLARS FOR A FLUTE?!

  • @halomasterum Yamaha is cheaper

  • @halomasterum It's actually because of the metal. Mine is sterling silver so it was cheaper!

  • @halomasterum its still an instrument

  • @halomasterum If you do it for a living, quality matters. Plus, the instrument will outlive you - it doesn't get thrown away.

  • @JonFrumTheFirst yeah but 48000? a couple of grand would be more acceptable

  • @halomasterum I don't think so, mine was 649$

  • for those of you that dont know, this is not a Burkart flute, its a Brannen Bros flute

  • A long process...

  • lol me play my flute while watching

  • I'm sooooo bored !!!!

  • why is a flute $9000 when a trumpet ranges from $1500 to $4500?

  • This one time... at band camp...

  • So if my flutes pad wears down, I have to pay $90. Wow that's expensive!

  • What is the song she plays on the flute?

  • @panamainiac A Felicidade

  • I bought a flute for 1,200. 40,000? I dont think so... Save your money.

  • WOW that company is over charging for those flutes. I think I stick with my S.E. Shires Bass Trombone, its only $5,000.

  • How Its made : Babies

  • So basicly... how its made, really fucking expensive flutes right?

  • i hated replacing those pads *-_-

  • cool since i play flute now i know how it's made

  • it sounds dirty when she says ''hole'' xD

  • @playgroundmusicPC They charge so much because people who repair instruments go to school to college to learn how to repair all kinds of instruments---so they're expensive to hire to begin with due to specialized schooling. That, and the time it takes to disassemble, replace, then reassemble all the components.

    .

I agree though, they do charge way too much---but that's how shit works in the instrument industry, everything is needlessly overpriced.

  • I really want to know what the song is at the beginning and the end!

  • 34 people play the skin flute

  • i am playing my flute while watching this

  • I sure would love to prance around town with one of those.

  • Oh I'll open and close your holes. ;) lmfao jk

  • Why do people watch things like this if they don't like it?

  • @SakurasVagina What the hell difference does it make whether or not they LIKE or DISLIKE the video. If YOU like it, then that's all that matters. For christ sakes.

  • @USERNAMEnine well i might post them but thx 4 responing

  • @kendall8171 Well, you're welcome to, but whether or not you can upload them is not up to the audience, but yourself. There's no need to ask anyone.

  • @kendall8171 if you are good, go ahead :)

  • How about a beginner flute?....

  • Bamboo flutes are the best!

  • For those of you asking about the price of a flute, check out the web sites for Powel Flutes. $10,000 is the bottom of their price range. They currenty have one for over $43,000.

  • @harrisinstruments That's not true. I used to have a Powell and it was $4500. I hate Powell though... SANKYO forever!

  • @floriana1985, I'm not saying what you may have paid back then. Look at their current list prices. You may be able to buy for less but their current list prices start at around $10K.

  • someone clear this up for me. - why do Americans say SADAR - instead of Solder?

  • @BeeEmmW

Because we say it correctly. ;-)

  • @harrisinstruments so tell me how ANORCTICA properly represents Antarctica

  • @BeeEmmW --- ? What does that have to do with building a flute?... But your right, everywhere else says it wrong... LOL.

  • it doesnt sound that good...

  • ehh..is it just me or american instruments are just rlly..rlly expensive? here the flute is most likely one of the chaper ones compared to a sax or a violin

  • Interesting!

  • this is the single most demented show ever its not interesting at all and boring plus nobody likes it why do they play it

  • @Jaffet1990 thats because those kind of flutes ranging from 500-1500 is low quality and mostly for beginners. the one mentioned here is a very high quality flute and probably a famous brand

  • It's a Brannen Brothers Flute! Those are top of the line!

  • this is why i play the clarinet (;

  • It's amazing that tools of the trade cost so much for a profession that isn't famous for making buckets of cash.

  • Man instruments are expensive damn even a flute can be $9000 and I thought it was $750 to $1500

  • @Jaffet1990 Those are for beginner flutes. I'm soon going to be getting an Intermediate flute, which cost a bit more.

  • How It's Made- How It's Made LOL

  • I'm still looking for a french horn video...

  • whats the name of the first song? 0:20??

  • woow thats a nice job!!

  • my flute was only £100...talk about an upgrade!!! but wow, I never realised how it was to make flutes before - really interesting!!!!

  • My flute was nearly 2000 dollars but s local store was going out of buisness so we got it for 990.99 is was beautiful and I have had since sixth grade and now I'm going into eighth and it is still realllyy shiny and pretty

  • They're probably a prominent company that make their flutes with solid silver, gold, or platinum. Some companies, even though they're quality is very good make thier flutes with sterling silver and plate them with nickel or silver. Man hours goes into the price because some flutes are machine made :)

  • lol 0:16

  • LOL $9000?!?! i got mine for less than $1000 haha

  • $90 to replace pads???????? omg

  • I think their prices are a little excessive....I get my pads replaced for about $15 each and my flute was about $1700

  • i got my openhole flute for 900 dollars, I LIVE IN CANADA!!

  • fuckthisshit! just make a copper tube flute or a pvc pipe flute.you get the same sound after a few tries :P

  • My flute was 8,000

  • I wonder how much their platinum flute costs because it isn't listed in the price list.

  • @ssgkillsuall

They're not going to go out of buisness. They claim they have no waiting list but they ask you to order three years in advance. Their flutes are some of the most wanted in the world.

  • it's Boston....no wonder it's so expansive

  • buy it, then smash it up in front of the guy who made it.

  • if this companies cheapest flut is 9000 dollars i bet their out of buisness

  • WOW, That must be like. The BEST flute out there. jeez, i for my flute for 300 dollars o.o

  • @MeMehMy i payed like 700 for mine and they said 9000 to 48000 i was like WTF!

  • $4,800????? My flute was 800 -Emerson-

And I thought THAT was alot

  • 48.000????

    THE FUUCK!!!

  • when that woman start to sing first thing that came in my head was LORD OF THE RINGS THEME SONG :))) thumb up if you think this too

  • This is Brannen Brothers Flutemakers, Inc.

(Later part of the film shows a 14K gold flute)

The pricing estimates indicated, are all normal

for this high level of flutemaking (soldered toneholes)

but today this way of flutemaking is becoming ancient.

  • mine cost only about 80

  • 9000?Mine cost 9 dollars!

  • @failuzre 9? dude thats not a real flute then, mine isnt that expensive and it was about $300.

  • @Maisy2499 Can't take a joke?

  • @failuzre Don't understand english? Retard.

  • @viperz888 Obviously yes.If i didn't why would I be replying in english?-.-

  • @failuzre -.- isn't english you spanner

  • Play Picard's flute song!

  • @teichiboy

    I'm pretty sure it's a brannen

I recognize the logo on the headjoint and the "brögger mekanik" logo on the body and I think it said brannen and cooper on the barrel aswell.

  • how fuckin complicated....

  • The music sounds like cheap porno music...

  • I'm confused as to why the introduction portion of this video takes place in a junkyard of some sort...

  • That is a very expensive way of making an awful racket. Try banging two pot lids together.

  • @3nasacova The flute sounds a lot better than the oboe, though.

  • I got a very nice flute for $1200 that had a Boston head joint and Sonare body and foot joints. Excellent flute and almost as good as a fully professional flute. One think to consider though is the Boston head joint dents way easy as should be handled carefully. I can't imagine how delicate some of the better flutes are. (btw thinner metal= better tone)

  • @AcroTielGuy No this video is of Burkhart Boston flutes. A Sonare has a signature Powell headjoint. If you have a Burkhart headjoint with a sonare then you bought the headjoint separatly, or the person selling the flute to you had bought them separatly.

  • Wanna hear how it's REALLY played?

  • SPIDER IN THE HOLE!

  • lol...my flute was only $250... 'cuz i bought it from my instructor... btw, GLUE? getto much?

  • i kind of liked it but it was not the best one i saw.

  • Comment removed

  • Wait.there exists a flute made of solid platinum?!?!!

  • $9,000 is crazy! My professional flute that plays just as well, I'm sure, was $3,000. This $9,000 is $5,000 more than my car!

  • $9,000 and up? Yeah, that's about right for a professional level flute (and Boston flutes are really nice). I almost got a $7,000 flute in college, but I didn't end up pursuing it professionally, so I (and my parents) decided to not spend the money. I'm very happy with my $800 flute from middle school.

Still, these are really nice flutes, and it's really cool to see the actual construction of the body of the flute. Although, I will say, normal flute pads don't cost that much to replace.

  • @hattrick271 Yeah, I'm in college and I've been looking at professional trombones and heard my bank account scream in fear haha. The high prices are worth it especially when most of the instrument is mostly hand made like most professional instruments.

  • $48000 for a flute?! That is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE!

  • It looks like it floating in the beginning. =)

  • or alternatively, u could grab some pvc pipe or bamboo, figure out the note wavelengths etc and drill some holes in it lol.

  • @guitarhero666759 ahaha I like the way you think xD :P

  • @iamlivingbubbly lol why thank you :D

  • I play flute :D

  • @PepsiinaBottleNomzor Samsies :D

  • Mine was only 500. Wtf?

  • Hella gay
