  • How do you do the 2nd partial derivative?

  • @justktlol929 /watch?v=VOowCWqQj_g and see the final example

  • Hi,

Chris I have a 3rd year final exam coming, I need some help with 2nd order perturbation nad WKB methods, is there anyway you can post a video regarding them or anything, I would really appreciate it.

  • thank u so much.....it makes my job easy now

  • Great video! very professional. You don't do a proof for the chain rule you used here do you? I can't find it in your videos, if not that's fine.

  • @LHSlaurence You're right - I have not posted a proof yet. I plan to upload a lecture on this later in the year (around March/April) when I will cover the proof in class/ Best wishes.

  • @DrChrisTisdell Thank you :)

  • A++ tutorial. very good teaching style, clear and concise. diagram is great!

  • i have a function like this..

    f(u,v)=uv-v where u(x,y) =xy^2 v(x,y)=x^2-y^2

will the above method work for this?..i'm confused because it has f= uv-v i don't know wat to do. :(

  • @cyberbemon You can find the idea in this vid: watch?v=m509zAi3X6Q

  • That diagram is the best!

    Thanks! :)

  • great teaching.. .. hope to see more of df/dx :D videos

  • Thanks a billion Chris!

    VERY helpful indeed!

  • Cheers Tisdell, i missed the 1231 lecture last tuesday and now this will help me understand the chain rule. haha but why no different voices in these vids. They are totally the highlight of the lecture :P. See you thurs cheers.

  • Hi Booth, if you look hard then there *might* be a couple of vids where I put on an accent, but I think I'll save that for the lectures!

BTW, it's important to view these videos as an adjunct to lectures and not a replacement for them.(otherwise I won't have a job!)

  • This all will really help me. It's so clear the way you tell your story. It's not the chain that rules, you rule!! :D

    Thanks

  • That's right! It's all about tellling a story!! :-)

  • Thanks so much and glad you liked the diagram.

  • i think the diagram would help students with poor understanding of this concept

  • Thanks so much Le Van Ut!! Hope your studies are going well in Finland.

  • I like your teaching style, Dr. Tisdell!
