  • this is very good thank you for Pu-ting this on 5stars

  • Looking back at this, I'm reminded how good Tornado looked in grey. Would have been cool to see her on the main line like that, i think.

  • Yes, she didn't look bad in that livery. Was it Silver Link that appeared in a similar livery?

  • what is the speed limit for the line 5* vid by the way

  • Very very nice video record of these locomotives. Well framed, good perspective and favourable light, and of course, a steady hand, well done.

  • Thank you. Unfortunately the hand doesn't get any steadier as I get older!

  • No probs Mike, credit due, credit given.

Your steamontheweb footage is probably the best collection of record steam video work in one place, and a credit to you.

It takes commitment and determination to cover a subject to the level you have done.

    Keep up the good work!

Perhaps think about a bedtime tipple to keep that hand steady....only one though!

  • Thank you for your kind words. The bed-time tipple is already in hand so to speak!

  • Masters excelente video 5*!!! Saludos Alejandro

  • this was a great gala

  • Brill Video! I went to the Steam Railway gala on Saturday and had a fabulous time. The line-up of four Main Line Locomotives (Tornado to be running railtours soon) was wonderful! I wish i'd had the weekend there in our Tourer caravan which is a massive 5th wheel but couldn't due to commitments. I will be surprised if this event happens again on a Preserved line! Do you know If 5690 Leander is still there?

  • I second that; excellent Gala.

Yes, it looks as if Leander will be at the GCR for another month.

  • Excellent footage probobly been the best year for Great Central that was probably and the busiest weekend ever for the railway.

  • Thanks.

Yes it's brilliant for them. They deserve it to for showing show much enterprise!

  • How much is a GCR lineside pass?

  • You have to be a friend of the Railway, so it's £20 for membership and £25 for the pass. You get a good quality quarterly mag and there are discounts for travel. The non-lineside locations are a bit restricted, so a pass is a must for a serious cameraman! They also run through the winter, so that is a consideration plus 3 good Galas a year and extra events where the opportunity arises.

    Mike

  • Simply amazing a great profecional Video! I really would like to the Great Central especialy during this gala!

  • GCR Galas are usually very good as they can run a very intensive service.

    Mike

  • Very nice Mike

    Paul Martin

  • Thanks Paul

Lucky with the weather for once.

    Mike

  • Excellent professional vid ---liked the concentration on each loco individually

  • Thanks

It was a brilliant event, helped by the good to excellent weather.

  • Yet another brilliant video..I enjoyed every minute of it thanks..there were enough people crowding the platform at the very beginning weren't there? he he he

  • Thanks

The most popular event I can remember at the GCR. Parking spaces very hard to come by.
