I was in the arena for this program and on my feet before the end of the program. One of the best performances I've ever seen for pairs skating. It's the only performance of the entire competition where I can close my eyes and bring myself back to that night in the World Arena. Just perfect. ♥

They are nowhere near as dominant as those teams, they didnt win any big titles until Sale & Pelletier or Berezhnaya & Sikharulidze retired, and even had a losing record to Totmianina & Marinin in their primes. Gordeeva & Grinkov imparticular are better than them in everyway, especialy in terms of polish. The Chinese only have bigger throws but with much weaker technique.

what that commentator said is so true- this was a beautiful transition of the nutcracker from the stage as a ballet to the ice. breathtaking. and they cover every every square inch of the ice. such a beautiful execution. i cant emphasize enough how brilliant execution. i dont understand the scoring but they deserved every 1/1000000 of those points.
Of all of the performances I've seen choreographed to this music, this is the best! Their intepretation flows, and most of all, it's truly intimate. Absolutely beautiful!

Bronze medal in Torino, which was remarkable because Zhao was just recovering from a serious injury and surgery. And now, after so many years, they have reached a dream. I was SO glad they won Gold in Vancouver 2010. They're the only returning figure skaters to skate the whole 2009/10 Grand Prix season.
They have given so much to Pairs and figure skating. I am British, I truly believe like all the greatest skaters, they connect with each other, every member of the crowd and us on YouTube regardless of nationality.
Among all their performances, this is probably my favourite. I love the choreography, and the music, and their unison and the performance is just breath taking. I felt the shiver at least 5 times!!

I'm wanting and almost expecting them to win a gold metal in couples figure skating at the 2010 winter olympics, especially after last nights performance, gaining a record score never given before for their short program. They certainly deserve it.

The Most Complete, Polished and Stunning Pairs Couple to grace the ice, in several generations. Not since the Protopopovs, and even they did not have the incredible difficulty of level, as Shen and Zhao.
I really really really really really hope to see them in Vancouver. They are my favorite to watch in all of figure skating. Their chemistry is unbelievable.
They are technically stunning, no match artistically, elegant and breathtaking! They've been through so much together. They are still pursuing their dream at the age of 36 and 31. I just hope they finish their career with an Olympic gold in 4 months. They work so hard, and they completely deserve it!

This program in its entierty was so thoughtful and so aesthetically complete! I think the last time I saw this kind of communication from any pairs skater was with Artur Dmitriev & Natalia Mishkutenok . Shen and Zhao were absolutely brilliant here. Fifteen years from now, this piece will still be beautiful and make sense. Thank you Shen and Zhao!
Sin palabra. To think that early in their career, they were criticized for not being artistic and elegant but they worked hard to improve and voila. This skate is even better than at the 2004 Worlds. I think they have the special quality of drawing int the audience. You feel for them, you breathe with them and you rejoice with them. Bravo! Thank you for sharing your talent and art with us. From this performance, I feel such an appreciation and love -to each other, to the skating, and to the audience- which makes me cry.
Also with beautiful music and choreography, perfect techniques, strength only achieved by overcoming the hard times, this pair has become a true legend.
I love them because they're so musical. Somewhere along the line they started choosing really good music -- pieces that built, had an arc to them and great melodies, and that had a dramatic impact -- Nutcracker, Turandot, Claire de lune, Kismet, Butterfly, etc. and they learned how to bring out their natural musicality -- they already had the talent, just needed to be shown the way.
Thanks for load it again! I watched this maybe a hundred times already and every time I watch it I hold my breath. That's what is called breathtaking I guess:)

This program in its entierty was so thoughtful and so aesthetically complete! I think the last time I saw this kind of communication from any pairs skater was with Artur Dmitriev & Natalia Mishkutenok . Shen and Zhao were absolutely brilliant here. Fifteen years from now, this piece will still be beautiful and make sense. Thank you Shen and Zhao!

Sin palabra. To think that early in their career, they were criticized for not being artistic and elegant but they worked hard to improve and voila. This skate is even better than at the 2004 Worlds. I think they have the special quality of drawing int the audience. You feel for them, you breathe with them and you rejoice with them. Bravo! Thank you for sharing your talent and art with us. I miss them too!

I was looking for a program they did where the audience just stood up roaring of excitement before the program even ended. I think they were dancing to Nessun Dorma in the end. Does anybody know this program? Thanks?

From this performance, I feel such an appreciation and love -to each other, to the skating, and to the audience- which makes me cry.
Also with beautiful music and choreography, perfect techniques, strength only achieved by overcoming the hard times, this pair has become a true legend.

I love them because they're so musical. Somewhere along the line they started choosing really good music -- pieces that built, had an arc to them and great melodies, and that had a dramatic impact -- Nutcracker, Turandot, Claire de lune, Kismet, Butterfly, etc. and they learned how to bring out their natural musicality -- they already had the talent, just needed to be shown the way.
