A mate of mine here in Darwin of all places has a 11 second one that was launched with out boost and no transbrake in street trim with a NA bottom end with turbo gear bolted to it. Rip the engine out and chuck in a rb25det from an r33 or r34 (dont bother with the r32 version), cost around 2.5g but can be done for less, and is pretty much a straight drop in/bolt up swap. Put 30g into that engine doing all the right things and you will beat that lambo..... in a straight line. The track is another thing though.... the vl will just never compete. Thats when you need something like David Tipples r34 gtr with 857hp at the wheels on one bar..... without the nos haha byebye lambo

Let me see. Why bother comparing a galardo with a vl? That would depend whats been done to a vl. Galardos cost between 180-210,000 USD, depending on the version and specs of that particular car, and have a manufacturer claimed 520hp atw, but really is less than 500.

Buy a vl with a standard rb20e or rb30e nissan engine (the straight 6 two and three litre engines), can get a straight one for around 2g.
