They have to hundred hundreds and hundreds of heavy bags each day for lousy pay and you just know that they'll get screamed at if a flight gets delayed because they didn't load/unload bags fast enough.
Baggage handlers toss bags, buy and pack appropriately, dammit.
What a big ass cry baby u stuff the shit outta of your bag since u like recording stuff how bout u record when one of us rampers hurts our shoulder or back or knees loading your luggage in the cargo pit or from picking it up. U passengers kill me wit this crap
The only airline which you could complain to is British Airways, because they have their own baggage handlers who are employed by them and not the Airport's handling agents. I think this is the case for BA in all airports but I'm not sure
If you want to complain about how your bags are handled, complain to the AIRPORT. There are ground crews at each airport who handle your bags, it is not the Captain, First Officer, or any Flight Attendants' fault that you bags are mistreated. And by the way, if the flight is on time, we really don't give a rat's behind that you booked a 20 minute connection for an International flight. YES, you are going to miss your connection. Not my fault, therefore, not my problem.
anyone who thinks this luggage was handled too harsh is a certified cry-baby, prima-donna! next time quit being so cheap and hire a private jet! Or quit complaining!
These guys are amateurs. A real professional "baggage mishandler" will drop you luggage from the height of 10 feet and he can BEND the steel structures of a mountain bike. London Heathrow airport is famous for destroying bicycles.
So far I have seen alot of videos of how baggage handlers treat passengers bags. Well, how baggage handlers treat luggage is nothing compared to how airport sorting machines treat bags (Those machines put around 200lbs of force on bags).
Simple rule is pack light, and keep your fragile crap out of your check luggage. And just remember if you can barely lift your own bag, don't expect someone to treat it with kid gloves.
So, you are a TV crew, huh? Well, genius, I sure hope you are not part of a NEWS crew, cuz' he wasn't looking at your little "fragile" tag, he was trying to make sure your bag got on the correct flight by reading the tag. And how could you not know your bags would be treated like that? He was as careful as he reasonably could be. That said, I hope he fuckt your shit up.
It's LUGGAGE folks! Your bag is most likely going to be buried under dozens and dozens of other bags. If you're worried about something getting banged up, carry it on!
He was looking at the bag tag, not a label marking it as fragile. The bag tag tells where the bag is going, so he'd know whether to load it on that cart or not.
They are more organized if you're not limited to how many carts you can tug and have plenty of time in your hands. Not to mention not alot of bags to worry about. However, when you have 280 bags coming off. Those type of carts are a inconvenience, they're typically used for connecting bags.
Well, only planes that take cargo containers are wide body aircraft. Majority of planes out there are hand loaded. Sometimes they do use those carts for cargo container aircraft though.
@LtSparkz There are some midbodies that take containers, like the A320. But all airliners that take cans also have a section of the belly for hand loaded cargo, it's usually where they put pets, or they'll jam it with cargo when baggage takes all the container slots.
@officialryan Yeah, but what you're talking about though are what we call 'wide body aircraft' the far aft compartment is where you put standby, last minute, or small amount of baggage. A lot of times you get bags or cargo that won't go up in the can because of the load planner being unhappy the fact the can isn't full. So, there they go. As well as pets like you said. But, it's interesting to know that a mid aircraft like an A320 takes cans. I only work with Boeing planes, so that's new to me.
F*** your bags. Stop making them so damn heavy and maybe I won't treat them like a red headed step child. Oh and little fyi, you people are the reason the airlines are charging so much these days.
You would be throwing bags too if you had to work in the heat and bad weather that these guys work in all day! That job gets frustrating and tiring after a while
If everyone bag handler was slow and carefully set bags on belts and carts, everyones bags would misconnect it takes to damn long lol............give me a break lol.
Baggage handlers not treating each bag like it was the Mona Lisa is intolerable! We pay these guys great money (8.50 an hour) have them work in great conditions (snow, minus 20, heat, humidity, etc) and basically work them until they are cripples. After all that, they don't bow down and worship each bag? I can't believe it!
when flights are so expensive, when extra baggage allowances are really expensive, when there are so many rules and regulations that we have to follow, all we ask for is a little bit of respect...
i dont get why you'd post things like this. who cares? ever heard of a carry on? baggage handlers have enough to worry about. they have to load and unload 150 bags inless than a half hour. i want to see you work as a handler for 5 hours and see what its like. lugging more than 50 pound bags maybe 50 times a day at the least. they cant hanlde the bags like kittens. thats why baggage makers make the bags so durable. stop wasting battery and my life.
CARRY ON. I used to work as a tv crew and I always carried on the 100,000 camera and equipment. Every time I've been to gay fag ville Texas, the baggage ppl have always been abusive to luggage, same for every airline there. Vegas airports literally pamper the bags.
I work on the ramp and i because dumb ass passengers who think its really clever to load a f**king suitcase with as much Sh*t as possible so we all have bad backs.
Makes any one want to throw that case really hard. I know how he feels!!
no you dumbass he looked at the tag to see if it was conecting or if it was local.not if it was fragile. don't assume he was doing that because it was fragile

Those are some weird carts, they're divided in the middle? Seems like a pain in the ass to load.

I always found the ones without that shelf thing to be more of a pain in the ass. Those seem to keep things more organized.
