Tripples are awesome, they sound quite unique and love to go in a straight line, but tossing a big bore kit, running open pipes, and playing with port timing to go 165mph will not let you keep up in the trails with such a heavy chasis. In fact i would love to see you try, you would be so far up the ass of the first fuckin' tree you saw that when i came back looking for ya i wouldn't be able to find you.
I have an SRX 700 and with the Arrow dual runner skis and picked track that thing handles like it's on rails. I would rather have a sled that sits lower to the ground than a taller sno-cross wanabe bump runner that can't take a corner worth shit.
I've ridden friends sleds, Revs and Apexs and to me they feel tippy. Have to lean in to the corners to much and the damn inside ski still lifts. My skid's long traveled (11.5") with the Ohlins shocks, thats enough.
Remember the early 90's sleds (mach 1, Phazer)........now that was rough riding, if I wanted to sit on a comfy couch I would stay at home. LoL
the rev only feals tippy because of how you sit..its not tippy..ride one for a day your used to being down in a sled not on it..rev takes a full day to learn to trust it..by the way you dont so much lean into the corner like a traditional sled as up over your bars to put weight on the skis..like i said try one for a full day.draging your arse on the ground one minute then jumping on top of a rev its going to feal high (not as weird as jumping off a rev and onto those old recliners feals though )
Yeah maybe it is time to seriously think about an upgrade......Nytro XTX or RTX maybe??? I do like the look of those AC CFR 800 HO's though (Saw one at the snow show in Toronto, love at first site (Firecat Reinvented???).....old school spank ass fast...
been reading about the new nytro mountain..they speak highly of this years sled say its like a 2 stroke almost for handeling..lot of track though if your going to be riding mostly trail...hard to decide these days theres so much to choose from..i like the cat sno pro but the engines to small...might have that sick 800 in it next year ..have a backcountry x on the way, going narower this time round for off trail manuverabilty and hopefully better sidehilling....let you know how that works out
I think the Backcountry X 800R is gonna hit the nail on the head for the type of riding you do......That Nytro XTX 144" might be one to look at too...;)
i still like the tripples i got a 1999 mach-z i bought brand new but i bought a 2006 renegade-x 1000 SDI twin for trail riding!(same motor as the 2005-2007 mach-z 's) and the twin has more torque! i would have to say i like the "Big Twin" better! now the new 800's are 150hosrepower and so lightweight they handle great and are very fast for a 800! thats what im getting next!
thay gave you 3 thumbs down but your right...my tripple would be eaten by my twin on ROUGH trails...hit a lake or smooth straight trail ...ZOOM gone on the tripple nothing touching it..i ve had much slower sleds beat me on trails on the tripple and im a crazy mofoe lol...thing would of just smashed to pieces(has smashed to pieces trying lol)..its weight plain and simple..look at yamahas good for two things, straight 'n' smooth :-)

Because Yamaha'a are over rated. There heavy. There ugly. And there 4strokes are crap. My 08 MXZ RS 600 is lighter better handling. & much better on fuel. Not to mention cheaper to purchase.

My dad just had his Mach Z 800 rebuilt from the bottom up and it has triple pipes and he is still slower than my 800 twin both studded on an icy road. Sound doesnt mean anything, cause my little brothers sled is at least 5 mph faster on top end then mine even and yes they are all jetted and tuned to perfection. I mean dont act like your Mach Z goes 165...what a JOKE!!!

exactley, i have a ZRT 800 and my dad has an XLT 600. we love triples, they sound so good and are fun as hell to drive, you actually have to have skill to drive one, let alone handle the thing. im 16 , and weigh 130 pounds and i drive an 800 triple, quite a handfull haha. also to mention i went from a 340 when i was 14 to an 800 triple at 15
we ussually just use them for ice and grass drags though. we have trail sleds

I am not a big Cat Fan but I am willing to admit when they have built a really good sled. these 4 strokes do suck until you strap a turbo onto them and then the power is phenomenal. Also you can go nearly 50,000 miles before a rebuild, try that with a 2 stroke.. Other than Ski Doo's E-Tech And POWER T.E.K. 2 stroke, 4 stroke is the future for snowmobiles. Cat is top dog this year!!

We used o have a Mach Z and we could do 95 mph walking it! We had 5 people on a Mach Z and we were going 95 mph. we had a trailer with 3 more people in it and 2 on the sled!!! with 2 people on the sled 95 mph it is easy!!! These are fast sleds and not for beginners!!! I don't like triples because the center piston always get worn down to fast!!!
ok then, sorry man about that. heres just one reason why its not really a dick move, im mostly a vintage rider, i got loads of people on the trail telling me that my sled is shit and what not. a few times, i saw those guys broken down and i just drove right past them.
if somewone is not being an asshole to me, why not give them a hand, they sure need it.
the beauty of my sled is that it has underseat storage, i have enough tools down there to dissasemble a whole sled, also have piles of plugs.
another thing i forgot to mention, my area is mostly polaris guys, except for me, my dad, and a bunch of other old guys who ride ski-doo and a few other brands. so its usually polaris guys on the trail talking shit to me.

Settle down guys. What difference does it make if other guys think their sleds are better? Us with Ski-Doos know ours are better, and their isn't any reason to argue. Yamaha could make great sleds if they weighed as little as many others. They build them much to heavy to become competitive.

i still like the tripples i got a 1999 mach-z i bought brand new but i bought a 2006 renegade-x 1000 SDI twin for trail riding!(same motor as the 2005-2007 mach-z 's) and the twin has more torque! i would have to say i like the "Big Twin" better! now the new 800's are 150hosrepower and so lightweight they handle great and are very fast for a 800! thats what im getting next!

Mach Z's are piggy feeling but they're one of my fav sleds of all time because of the motor. They sound great and haul ass & have good reliability.
Great sound, great motor, decent looks, feel piggy to drive. I like them-for limited use

thay gave you 3 thumbs down but your right...my tripple would be eaten by my twin on ROUGH trails...hit a lake or smooth straight trail ...ZOOM gone on the tripple nothing touching it..i ve had much slower sleds beat me on trails on the tripple and im a crazy mofoe lol...thing would of just smashed to pieces(has smashed to pieces trying lol)..its weight plain and simple..look at yamahas good for two things, straight 'n' smooth :-)

Because Yamaha'a are over rated. There heavy. There ugly. And there 4strokes are crap. My 08 MXZ RS 600 is lighter better handling. & much better on fuel. Not to mention cheaper to purchase.
Trust me I know I owned Yamaha most of my life. And a few Artic Craps too. I will never switch from Ski Doo again!

My dad just had his Mach Z 800 rebuilt from the bottom up and it has triple pipes and he is still slower than my 800 twin both studded on an icy road. Sound doesnt mean anything, cause my little brothers sled is at least 5 mph faster on top end then mine even and yes they are all jetted and tuned to perfection. I mean dont act like your Mach Z goes 165...what a JOKE!!!

exactley, i have a ZRT 800 and my dad has an XLT 600. we love triples, they sound so good and are fun as hell to drive, you actually have to have skill to drive one, let alone handle the thing. im 16 , and weigh 130 pounds and i drive an 800 triple, quite a handfull haha. also to mention i went from a 340 when i was 14 to an 800 triple at 15
we ussually just use them for ice and grass drags though. we have trail sleds

I am not a big Cat Fan but I am willing to admit when they have built a really good sled. these 4 strokes do suck until you strap a turbo onto them and then the power is phenomenal. Also you can go nearly 50,000 miles before a rebuild, try that with a 2 stroke.. Other than Ski Doo's E-Tech And POWER T.E.K. 2 stroke, 4 stroke is the future for snowmobiles. Cat is top dog this year!!

We used o have a Mach Z and we could do 95 mph walking it! We had 5 people on a Mach Z and we were going 95 mph. we had a trailer with 3 more people in it and 2 on the sled!!! with 2 people on the sled 95 mph it is easy!!! These are fast sleds and not for beginners!!! I don't like triples because the center piston always get worn down to fast!!!

ok then, sorry man about that. heres just one reason why its not really a dick move, im mostly a vintage rider, i got loads of people on the trail telling me that my sled is shit and what not. a few times, i saw those guys broken down and i just drove right past them.
if somewone is not being an asshole to me, why not give them a hand, they sure need it.
the beauty of my sled is that it has underseat storage, i have enough tools down there to dissasemble a whole sled, also have piles of plugs.

another thing i forgot to mention, my area is mostly polaris guys, except for me, my dad, and a bunch of other old guys who ride ski-doo and a few other brands. so its usually polaris guys on the trail talking shit to me.

Settle down guys. What difference does it make if other guys think their sleds are better? Us with Ski-Doos know ours are better, and their isn't any reason to argue. Yamaha could make great sleds if they weighed as little as many others. They build them much to heavy to become competitive.
