  • this song is from i think i lov my wife

  • megavega4, you get the point don't you?. the Jackson 5's version is BAD.......

  • To you younger cats out there you should have heard the jackson 5 version of this song on their second album ABC.. Bad joint indeed.

  • Finally, another version of this song with crisp sound and video! Great cover.

  • a great band with a great singer i dont know what stevie wonder thinks of this version but i am sure he would love as i do

  • I dont know either!!!! wish i could just get this all out of my head!!! been years and still there in my soul.... cant turn back time at all... too much water is under the bridge and too much hurt. I am still in love with her but we can't be together anymore.

  • i think i love my wife great movie perfect song

  • hadn't heard from them since the 90s,was a breath of fresh air.

  • N'Dea is putting it down, I am lucky, I had the privilege of meeting the group in Seattle WA, while I was Regional Lp( Security) Mgr for Tower Records. Great in person. Great Cover

  • better then the original, goosebumps all the way!!!

  • N'DEA DAVENPORT=SPECTACULAR

    BRAND NEW HEAVIES LEGENDARY!!!

    GREAT DISPLAY OF GOOD MUSIC.

  • what the... classic but fantastic! I love this version...wOOooohhh...

  • I love N'dea she rocked this song, I use Stevie lyrics when I sing it, but her version!

  • you have an amazing voice!!!!

  • excellent rendition, however Stevie originated and did it best...Michael Jackson with J5 is a relatively close second...this version is good but she sings these vocals in a bit too much of an organized structured way. Stevie you could really feel that he was lost in the emotion of the song. Michael Jackson was able to reproduce that emotion as well.

  • The horn players should be greatly appreciated here. Great work.

The girl shaking the shaker ... very in sync ... heard that - liked it.

Mr. Conga guy, the guy on the boards make sure your levels were just right ... the Piano man ... right keys at the right places ... and all the other players were very happy that the spices were exactly right!

  • Nothing short of tremendous. Sheer...uh...oomph. Marvellous.

  • Love the ending. N'dea's vocals on the ending just gives me GOOSEBUMPS.

  • Love the ending.

  • I WANT TO MAKE THIS PERFECTLY CLEAR . N'Dea and THE BRAND NEW HEAVIES version of this is FAR FAR AND AWAY the BEST version of this song PERIOD! and it's not even close. NOT EVEN CLOSE

  • @justriteful

I agree with you -- 50% -- N'Dea just rips this up and stirs up emotions with this song---but the other half of me goes with Michael Jackson and his brothers background vocals on this from the early 70s off the ABC album. MJ's young, forceful voice just tears at the heart -- and then when his brothers join in -- it's real heavy man!!:)

  • Fantasia version is way better than any one who did this song!!!!

  • @DAHSITUATION2010 in all do respect everybody have their own opinion but in my opinion all Fantasia did was scream and oversing this song. sometimes restaint is good. NDea Davenport had incredible control over this track she was definitely in the pocket & sang on the parts she needed to. Fantasia took off from thegate screaming I couldnt even listen to her version; just saying.

  • @kennyfame yea yu right doe

  • @kennyfame yea yu right doe everyone have their own opinion on things

  • We love this song!

  • N'dea is the best vocalist EVER that the Brand New Heavies ever has. I always enjoy every album that she is featured on.

  • A great version of the classic stevie wonder song by one of the greatest live bands i've ever seen, pure class.

  • Comment removed

  • Who cares who did it better when it's done so well. The Heavies hit it!

  • great song sung right

  • Lil MJ OWNED this song......in his version.....He absolutely KILLS It!

  • I still don't know why PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD but I love you!!! and I cry for you to know my GOD and hear my voice in the wind telling you how sweet his love is for you, Amen!!! my tears...O' Lord...my TEARS!!!

  • @RickandTheRailJoints and the church says amen....

  • This is the best cover of a Stevie Wonder classic ever...N'Dea rocked it!!!

  • i love you lisa

  • i always love the original title song By the Brand New Heavies on it's delicious Vinyl Record Labels US Based.

  • GREAT!...

  • Sweet!

  • First heard this in the strippers

  • I so lovbed this saong when the J5 did it. This version is just amazing goiosebumps. I'd love some hip hop spiuts in the background. ITS SO NOW.

  • i love this song .. im sorry mike n steve but homegirls vocals got u beat lol

  • 17 people who watched and heard this dont have a soul.

  • @nthnmonkey now i know 20 people have shit in their brain.. very sad!

  • Wow.

  • X-LENT!

  • One of the best cover versions, i've ever heard !!!

  • THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS...IM REALLY IMPRESSE BY THIS RENDITION..B N HEAVIES KILLED THIS !..NOTHING BETTER THEN THE FEEL OF A LIVE BAND!..

  • love

  • this is a great version and MJ did his thang but nobody did it like the OG Steve Wonder

  • the jackson five version was amazing and this one hits the musical spot too.. amazing..

  • i really love this song!!!

  • I'm addicted to this performance. The BNH are just electrifying with N'Dea's stunning vocal's which send a shiver through me every time!

  • her scream of pain at the end of the song is clearly raw emotion. 2.30....

that's the sound of being in love,it burns...

  • This shit is classic. It's got that soul to it, that's realness.

  • Rips the sh*t out of this Track. That girl is just Baaaad. You can pretty much just look at her movements and tell she is giving it to you.

  • Pour ma part l'une des meilleurs reprise.... Mais je prefere celle de Michael jackson qui me donne plus de frisson, mais j'avoue excellente reprise... Bravo

  • megavega44:

you know, i agree. It's not a bad version, of a really great song. but it's seems perfunctory, second-hand and does not have the power of stevie or michael's versions. of course, those icons can't be touched nor improved upon, so kudos to the bnh for bringing this fabulous soul classic to the kids. The ticket with covers is to take a lackluster original with good bones and bring something out. to cover masterpieces like this is always deadly.

  • @halfjapanesenirvana gee, give them a break nobody can do micheal jackson better than micheal jackson lol! this is pretty decent .. bet nobody can do justice to this song nowadays..

  • Every time I hear this version... I keep waiting for it to take flight.. and it never does. She did a GREAT job... but she made a grave error in recording the song in the same key as The Jackson 5. The high notes in the song were at the top of her range and you can hear her playing with melody because she had nowhere to go as the song climaxed. If you listen to the J-5 version.. Michael gets more intense... higher in register and totally surrenders to the song. She should have lowered the key.

  • she just killed it and made it her song, Stevie should be proud of this interpretation!

  • Hail BNH....music at its finest

  • Daaaamn!!!!!! Did that stevie Wonder song proud.. She ripped it. Great job BNH.

  • N'Dea they ain't ready for you...you did yo thang.....the beat to this is FUNKY!!! I LOVE how she put her flava to this......:)

  • cd was on sale at CVS for 6$. think i didn't get it?

  • OMG this is the one of the GREATEST soul songs I have ever heard!!!!! THUMBS UP!!

  • @sturmmensch N'Dea can really sing the cover version of that song

  • demais mais esta música,gosto demais..deste griupo...

  • N'Dea sang the heck outta this song. I know when Stevie heard it he was like "Nice". And dont even get me started on J5's version of this song! Its sick!!! This is one of those songs that you gotta feel it when you sing it, and N'dea & MJ felt it for real!

  • She did good, but I don't prefer it to the original, The Jackson 5, or Jill's. Her voice is lacking the same soul I need in a song like this. Her version was pretty, just not soulful enough to convey the emotion

  • this is great, but the best version is a young 11 year old Michael Jackson who ousings anyone else who recorded this bad boy, including Stevie Wonder.

  • N'Dea absolutely NAILS this....brilliant!

  • I love you too N'Dea.

  • woaaa super cool!!!!

  • I LUV THIS SONG.MAKES ME THINK OF HIM!

  • @volontewilliams AMEN!!!

Ive *always* been a Heavies fan from the beginning.. TRUE un-commercialized R&B/Funk/Acid Jazz in its Purest form. I always felt the Heavies dont get the recognition that they deserve. *Heres to 19 YEARS of the heavies!!**

    1991(official signed date with N'Dea) - 2010

Keep it going!!.. BNH 4-Ever :)

  • i am so inlove with this singer,i don't know why but i llloooovvveeee her......

  • Brand New Heavies turning it out with their version. Don't usually like remakes, but theirs is great. I bought tickets for their June NYC show at Highland? any one else interested in going?

  • Its great

  • Mmmm, great remake, almost as good as the master :)

  • A excellent groove with a soaring voice that captures the vulnerability of love. This is one of those rare gems that you can listen to repeatedly. Sing it baby, heal this aching heart.

  • Saw them perform this track in Germany.

N'dea was acutally on her knees...GOOSEBUMPS!!!

  • It beautiful jazz! Have you ever heard of jazz house compositions Valerio Minicillo? The First, Crazy Funky, wow! There is a wonderful video, which is LA MAGIA DEL SAX !

  • If you guys dig this try Nicklebag! They KILL this tune! Yeah, that's no type-o Nicklebag with a G, like dope. Stevie Salas and Bernard Fowler. Go dig on it now!

  • She sounds great.. but I think she made a mistake singing it The Jackson 5 key. She has nowhere to go at the end of the song. Michael Jackson sang the HELL outta this song.. at 11 years old. Nobody has come close to touching him.. including Stevie.. and I'm a huge Stevie fan....

  • Amazing, she's the greatest acid jazz singer EVER.

  • she is black she is beautiful and can sing with such a high calibur of emotion, just plain awsome

  • Imádom!

  • Woooow !!!I love the heck out of this version!!!!..I try to listen to it everychance I get!!!!

  • N'Dea SANGS this song...using the word "sing" is way too simplistic!

  • I love this song. Did Stevie Wonder actually wrote and recorded this song for himself or did he just write it for someone else to sing?

  • @honeegrrl yes he did they got the video here on the tube

  • Stevie Wonder's song covered with distinction by Michael Jackson and N'Dea Davenport.

  • and Jill Scott

  • She song the heck out of that song!

  • Here is a rare example of how a remake can hit a nerve when done right: with feeling, passion, pain and truth.

    Goosebumps everytime I hear it.

  • @volontewilliams I SO agree with your comment. Everybody shouldn't try to cover classic songs, this one is done right.

  • @volontewilliams You should watch Jill Scott singing it to Stevie,it is so moving and has everything including Stevie, lovin' it !

  • @1trevorjohn

Yeah, Jill Scott was good too. It's a great song I think.

  • @volontewilliams Ohhh yeah!

  • I love this song to death!!! Love her voice and how she carries it! :) One of my faves :) ")

  • Peace!!!! I KNOW WHY I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! She gives me goosebumps the way she sings with such feeling and emotion like she had ol dude in her mind while singing..She don't have nothing on Stevie though but she did her thing...That's peace!!!!!

  • I love this song and Stevie !!!

  • This is a cool, respectful update of Stevie Wonder's original, an example of a great song that translates well across time and generations.

  • i know why i love this song!

  • I need to learn to play the bass guitar. the base line is killin in this song

  • Smooth funky version !!!

But Stevie is still KING !!!

  • de aqui vienen los matahari.....sin ninguna duda, pero ke finesa de influencia........musicalmente son exquisitos......guauuu

  • word ! i love it too !!

  • i love ittttttttttttt

  • i dont know why but the i love you ending part is making retarted urlhg i'm in love with you ma

  • want a little joy with your pain...this song will hit the spot.

  • I don't know why I love this song, but I love it.

  • ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Heard a lot of other versions, this one is the best by far

  • WOW!!! Awsome cover of Stevie Wonder's song.

  • yup!

    1. Stevie

    2. MJ & J5

    3. Brand New Heavies

    4. Rolling Stones

but honestl;y I ve never heard a bad rendition of this classic... hard to screw it up, unless of course you just cant sing -lol

  • cumatac,

I totally agree with you. :-)

  • jill scott

  • I left her off... (which was hard to do) because I hadn't heard an official rendition of it just her live performance at the award ceremony -which she "tore it up" I could very easily plop her in front of the "Stones" version though, again hard to screw this one up I got the lump in my throat listening to her version as well, Jill is awesome at anything she tries to sing lol so -Touche.

  • n'dea davenport

  • love it

  • LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT

  • This song is a JOKE...... It cant be that good...but it is!!! I used to listen to the BNH's in the 90's when at college but lost touch... I heard a house version of this and was told it was Brand New Heavies... I havent stopped listening to this for the last two days... I still get chills down my neck...

  • what a voice!!!

  • i saw them live and this song was the best!!!

    best band ever!

  • she blows this thang up! and you know she's sangin from real pain! thats the only way you can nail shit like that.

  • i wanna learn this song...its hott

  • A W E S O M E !!! Great soong..., such impressing voiceeee!!! Why I have never seen her on TV like other staars??? Because she shineees!!!

  • I dont why I love you either N'dea but I love you. Its messed up but you could have called me back or answer my text

  • I think I love my wife

  • All I can say about this song is WOW!!!!...Its Stevie Wonder cover but N'Dea Davenport on lead totally blows me away with her rendition!

  • I saw them perform this at the Maryland Jazzfest in 07', they were the closing act, I know they did Stevie Wonder proud with this remake!!! Beautiful song, powerful words....they just don't make beautiful love songs like this anymore. Sad

  • stevie wonder's = melancholy

    BNH = powerful

    both = beautiful

  • michael jackson owns this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont know why I love this song ,but I love it!

  • You gotta hear little Michael Jackson sing this!

  • I agree, MJ totally emotes and rocks this song considering he was a small child. But overall I just love this song. Jill Scott, Stevie Wonder (obviously), and N'Dea all translate it in their own way.

  • i love this song

  • Who invented neo soul groove theory or brand new heavies? I say they both did. Goddamn this version gives me chills I forgot the Jackson Five did this cut

  • The Brand New Heavies are so dope, they did a good job on this song.I hope they are coming to DC in the coming months.I got to hear this live.

  • N'Dea...I know why I love you!!!!

  • how is this realted to grace gale?

    O_O

  • I don't know why I love you N'Dea since 1988....will you ever leave my system....

  • N'Dea...I don't know why either..but I love you too : )

  • damn, I'm just realizing that I feel SO related to this lyrics, that my heart had a hot impulse right now...

  • N'Dea really sings this--it's so tight.. I just love her voice..

  • The tune has that Motown Vibe... I love it... May God bless you in all that you do...

  • You are correct. This is a cover of a Stevie Wonder song. The Jackson Five also covered it.

  • N'Dea Davenport IS the voice of Brand New Heavies! No other will do.

  • i love this song!

  • I was around when this song was made by Stevie and remade by the Jacksons. This is up there with the best!

  • This is my favourite song of all time!

  • Now this is how you do a remake. That woman can SING!

  • This is a Stevie Wonder song. I remember when the Jackson Five sang it. Michael was like... 10 years old. He rocked it (of course). This is a great version too. Nice.

  • oh wow..ive just discovered this band..freeeeekn' sweeeet

  • One word: Bangin'!

  • Here by a fluke and loved this ladies sound. Want to hear more.

  • One of my favorite Stevie songs. Brand New Heavies hit it out of the mofo park!!!!!!! It's amazing how great they sound live! Bring back live music.....screw all this computerized mumbo jumbo!

  • If I had a nickel every time I've said the same thing...The both of us would be billionaires!

  • Peace...This song is just as heavy as it was in 1969.....She has a very powerful voice with the group or on her own...She handled her business on this song!!!!

    Peace

  • there's a better quality audio version elsewhere on youtube..

  • Willows mum: I have never in my life heard such a good cover version OMG OMG OMG

Stevie fan, now a Heavies fan, gorgeous voice !!

  • What an amazing song!!!!! Whoa, I already listened million times... Bravo, bravo, bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that voice is powerful

  • she sang that song really well i'd love to hear it live

  • It is so good to hear that all big emotions in life are already sung (and experienced) by someone else. It makes you feel less alone...

  • They did an awesome job with this song!!!

  • don't miss them on stage !!!
