She's playing is Heaven now. You do know that there's a choir up there that's been just waiting for her, right? Music is one of God's great creations for praise. Eternal now. Thanks for posting this.
God bless you for sharing this! While I'm a white guy that grew up in the country, my mother played the organ at church., and there was always one in our living room. It was just something I grew up with. My Dad was the most unlikely person to appreciate this REAL gospel playing, being an old rodeo cowboy from the 50s, but it was dear to his heart too...a year ago today he went home to be with Jesus, I really REALLY needed to hear this today, again THANK YOU SO MUCH...
Thank You very much for sharing this with me it makes me remember when my grand ma would beat the tam marine and scrub the wash board when I was a child following behind the organ
Wow, she just great!!! Reminds me of my grandma when she used to play the piano for us children loooong time ago (in Switzerland). There was no Hammond around, but I have one now :-))) therefore I'm surfing around youtube for great players such as this wonderful lady... Thanks for posting!!
@alaye0203 so sorry to hear of your loss...she looks like she was a GREAT LADYand a GREAT WOMAN OF GOD who loved the Lord and loved what she did...Mother was playing that organ..I got blessed hearing her..I lost my grandmother in October 2008 so I know exactly how you feel...She was 99 yrs old great woman of God..luv u & miss you grandma Blance H. Handy 1909-2008
She reminds me of Sister Julia Burns back in the day at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back in the day! God Bless Sister Taylor!!!!
There is a awful lot of good contemporary music in the churches of today.................there is NOT enough old school hymns though. (Yes, I said it)! Mrs. Taylor had it going on until the day she died (in my estimation) . I am personally carrying on her tradition even if few christians under the age of 50 appreciate it these days. It is getting hard to find hymn books in many "Hip" praise and worship style churches. What a sad commentary on Contemporary Praise.
@thrillwood I'm under 50 and the ONLY religious music I listen to are traditional hymns and anthems. If I want to hear hip hop music, I'll go to the club. The day they take the hymn books out of the church will be the day I stop attending. PS I concur with you, Mrs. Taylor had it going on right to the end. I really loved that lady,.
hey all im kyle davis blanche taylor was my grandmother she was a very good organ play she was actually in a book of the top 100 organ players in the world... she past may 14th 2008. she was a wonderful women ,mom and grandmother... thanks for complimenting my grandmothers great skills
Kyle, I'm so sorry to hear about Mrs. Taylor's death. I use to be her bus driver when she gave trips to Atlantic City and other places. I have a video tape with her playing the organ at a concert. I agree, she was one of the best organist in the world. She was truly a wonderful lady. I'll miss BMT.
its ok she is def in a better place. thank you. hahahaha mrs BMT... i have the plate off of her old car and it reads "mrs bmt" my grandma was so fun. thanks again.. oh yeah if you can put the video up that would be cool.
LOL.That's what I always called her-BMT from hr license plate. I see you you knew exactly what I was talking about. I'll have to learn how to upload a video. It's a VHS tape.
Took me a second of listnin... but I *think* she's doin' "Blood Bought the Church" (orig. Nancy Harmon?)
If not, the prog's are very similar... and doncha LOVE the walkin' feet! Yeeeeah. I'm glad I don't know where y'all live... cuz I'd come over and you'd have to RUN me off! :)
this just put a smile on my face. my granny used to play at her church in the 40's and 50's. thank you for sharing this video.
