The touch screen is terrible(!!!) it's really annoying..even though it's a touch screen the screen is terribly small and it's hard to deal with it..The only like really GREAT thing on it is the camera-the pictures you take are really amazing..If you can,rather get something else and if you already bought it,i wish you good luck. ;)
@broadstripes It means you can't connect to the net via wifi. Wifi is wireless internet. Some cafes, McDonalds, unis and offices use it, as well as some home computers. Means you can connect to their network and piggy back off it for free. Unless it's password protected.
You can still go on the net with this phone, however. It's just the phone itself kinnda works as a modem, and thus, you have to pay for any data you can download. See below:

There are 2 versions of the Ultra touch I hear a slow phone and a faster one for Telstra customers in Australia. Also found if you press the screen lock button the battery lasts for days.

Supposedly it's a tad difficult to text people and use the messaging service but that's if you're adjusted to a fully prominent slider keypad. If you normally use soft keypads then it's easy and natural to work. If you use the slide keys then there's no punctuation on them (I've heard...) and no delete key so I guess it's a bit fiddly but if you're really THAT fussed about it, then surely you'd make yourself get adjusted to the soft keypad? x
Had this for one week, only good thing was the camera! First of the bads, it wore out in just ONE week!! I had it in my trousers side pocket with nothing else in it twice, and after that the back had complitely wore out, incredible!! And quality in calls, sound really sucks. Touch screen is not reliable, you hit wrong often, and it's lagging much, txt messages is difficult to write with touch. I'm glad i changed for SE W.W995, this one is just the opposit, everything GREAT!!!

Even though the camera is great, but to make quality calls, yeah, it is more important, and write messages in a easy and nice way is more important, AND the W995 also has a 8 MP camera, i mean a 8,1(!) if you want to use the front cam for video calling. you will have to go to settings, then networkacces, then networkmodus and you choose UMTS. if you do that you should be able to use the front cam for video calling.
I found something really strange with mine, when you change the wallpaper from one of the default ones the touchscreen works much faster. any one else notice this?
I have this phone! freaking awesome to use. Yeah the battery life isn't as good as my last phone, but then again that was a chunky GSM W810i with a small screen. This thing runs out of battery in about a day if you use it for music all day, other wise lasts for 2 or 3 days. Overall everything here he said was accurate, and once you get the feel for the interface its even better. Intuitive and not too gimicky its great.
How s the operating system? I mean do u experience any lag and stuff? And the battery life u ve mentioned is pretty good.Continous music and a whole day is kick ass.HAve the w810i now (killer phone) interested in the samsung touch phones now.Cheers!
Does this phone have that annoying MP4 video format or does it have wmv or something else? I've had N95 8G for a while now but i'm tired of it because of the MP4 that is totally impossible to play on the computer unless you convert it in which you get a pretty bad quality when you're done.

N97 have the best design ever! No phone looks better than that (in my opinion). It's not a brick, is quite thin even though it has a full QWERTY. And yes if I WAN'T to watch youtube videos on my phone, then why shouldn't I have the option?

I tested this phone because I was curious. You know, 8mpx, touch screen, good design. For this price which exceed 400 $ easily i was excepting nice stuff but... I got disappointed, there's no wi-fi, soft is slow like hell, touch screen is poor

Tbh I found there wasn't really that much to play with on it, rather basic.. slick, but basic. I liked the slide out keypad but it really isn't necessary, the camera's v good but the lense is too close to the edge so it's far to easy when holding it to get your finger in the shot, plus the photo browsing was fiddley and actaully quite annoying with zooming, scrolling, etc. The screen is fantastically bright and does look really good however, just like the design of the phone itself.
hey, i got mine yesterday and i just wanted to ask...you know when you press the Menu button, does the background swivel to the menu or does the menu just appear?
All the demonstartion videos show it to swivel but mine doesn't.
I wouldn't say so to be honest, I mean they claim all sorts of things about phones just to get you to buy them don't they. This IS a good phone, don't get me wrong but it's a touchscreen, and all touchscreens need protection. I wouldn't put buying a screen protector past this phone.x :)
No WiFi, no problem. 3G is fast enough. But it doesn't have Symbian or WinMo. That's a way bigger issue. No 3rd party software, no sync possibilities with MS Exchange for contacts and calendar. I'd like this one to be on Symbian S60 with Exchange support. That would be nice.

Ok the Samsung Ultra touch is not a bad phone. Atm i bought it for around 4200 SEK. Which is somewhat around >400 €
The sound in this phone (with a pair of good hearphones) is quite astonishing. With a good qualty of varying alternatives.
To handle the phone is extremely easy and it is easy to have in your hand. However it is not the best phone if u want to send Text messages.
The phone has alot of functions. Mabye a bit too many then necessary. It's a good phone. But it has too much in it

im either gonna get this phone or the nokia n96 .. i no the n96 is gettin kinda old but ive heard good things .. any1 got any suggestions on this ...or even if thay know of a better fone

Tbh I found there wasn't really that much to play with on it, rather basic.. slick, but basic. I liked the slide out keypad but it really isn't necessary, the camera's v good but the lense is too close to the edge so it's far to easy when holding it to get your finger in the shot, plus the photo browsing was fiddley and actaully quite annoying with zooming, scrolling, etc. The screen is fantastically bright and does look really good however, just like the design of the phone itself.

hey, i got mine yesterday and i just wanted to ask...you know when you press the Menu button, does the background swivel to the menu or does the menu just appear?
All the demonstartion videos show it to swivel but mine doesn't.

I wouldn't say so to be honest, I mean they claim all sorts of things about phones just to get you to buy them don't they. This IS a good phone, don't get me wrong but it's a touchscreen, and all touchscreens need protection. I wouldn't put buying a screen protector past this phone.x :)

No WiFi, no problem. 3G is fast enough. But it doesn't have Symbian or WinMo. That's a way bigger issue. No 3rd party software, no sync possibilities with MS Exchange for contacts and calendar. I'd like this one to be on Symbian S60 with Exchange support. That would be nice.
