Alvin and Gracie were the real thing! My dad grew up near Jamestown, and his dad and Alvin were friends. The movie is a good protrayal of the way life was in that country in that period of time. It was a tough place to make a living, but it was a great place for just living. People were real, not phonies. God, The Bible, and Church were respected. And family, community, and country were the focus of life. That was the world Sgt. York was born into and fought for.

I have been to his home and gravesite in Pall Mall also. He is one of my personal heroes. He was a great soldier but more important...he was a very good man. I got to meet one of his sons at the state park. Real heroes are hard to come by...and he was one of the best

Visited Alvin York's home and gravesite last week during vacation trip from Mammoth Cave Ky. to Ocoee River raft trip. He has a beautiful home in Pall Mall Tennessee. Thanks for posting Video
