@sageyash normally the tobacco is rolled into a paper with a filter commonly placed on the end of the cigarette. After this the cigarette is then placed in the mouth of the user, then when they light the cigarette up with a lighter they need to draw in air for the cigarette to take the flame better. After that, it is smoked purely by 'sucking' on the cigarette, and exhaling the smoke. Hope I helped you understand how people smoke cigarettes now =D
