  • When I changed from a free acct. to the plus account they started billing me twice - monthly and annually without my knowledge because and never gave me any documentation by email or post office.

They over charged me by $1200 dollars! When I asked why they said I never cancelled my original free acct. so they were justified in not refunding this money that they stole. DO NOT EVER LET EFAX AUTO BILL YOUR ACCOUNT! They are not honest people. They are not about serving, they are about stealing!

  • They charged my account after the trial period, money was short that week, and it was painful. However, it was kind of my fault for forgetting to cancel after the free trial period. I cancelled via their live chat, and have a screen shot of them assuring me that I do not need to mail them anything, and that my account will be promptly closed, and that I will not be charged at all further. If they cancel it, then it's really not a scam. You have to use IE, the live chat won't work on chrome.

  • Thank god I saw this! I was going to sign up my company with this account with 6,000+ contacts... Would've been a big account for them.

  • Efax is a FRAUD, I was their client. They charge your credit card the trial period (first month that is free), after that you can do nothing.

  • I can't believe it! I noticed eFax withdrew an extra $10 from my acct and called to inquire. They said they charge per second on transmissions AND if the recipient's fax is slow, that can add up!!! WTF?? I am being charged two-to-four times the amount for each fax that I send!!! This is total crap. I hope I can cancel since it seems others are having difficulty doing so!

  • I cancelled my efax with no problem at all. Just go to "live chat" once you log on and tell them you want to terminate your service. There's no waiting on hold or incomprehensible foreign accents to deal with--Took less than a minute.

  • All those fellow telling efax work one eventually is part of their scam team I believe. You JUST CAN"T ABLE TO CANCEL IT ANYWAY. This is real scam company.

  • I have to do weekly reports and my boss is insisting on fax. This is in addition to other faxes that I have to send out and receive. I no longer have a home telephone line so I can't use a fax machine or the fax software on my computer. Efax has turned out the be right solution for me.

  • ALL TRUE! THEY WONT LET ME CANCEL MY ACCOUNT!!!!! REAL SCAM

  • Jimminy Jillicores Batman!!! This JUST happened to me TODAY!!!! And I'm actually recording their "Live Customer Service" screens. Basically all ROBOTS. You can type in I'm OBAMA and they will reply within microseconds a 10 line paragraph and to call customer service...

You are lucky you got thru customer service...I hung up after 28 minutes of waiting...

I'll keep ya posted! Thanks for the courage!!

  • I called +61 2 9423 0313 during Sydney business hours and selected the option to speak to someone in sales. After a couple of minutes, a customer rep answered and eventually cancelled my account after trying to cross-sell me into something else. Stand your ground and insist on cancellation. It can be done.

  • eFax = SCAM ARTIST! Check out their rating at the Better Business Bureau. They unsatisfactorily responded to my complaint about unauthorized credit card charges 1.5 years later. It was a nightmare. Thank goodness it wasn't a huge amount.

  • you should have no problem canceling your free trial, it was acually very easy. when you call choose option 3 to speak to customer rep, they will try and convince you to keep the service. just be firm but polite and you will not have a problem. also it is a great service but for 16.95 a month you would have to use it a lot to get your money worth. its not a scam

  • Thanks for the heads up on this. Now I got 29 more days to try to cancel mine.

  • Thanks for the heads up on this.

  • i literally got off the phone with eFax ( on +1323 817 3205) i got a customer service rep with a strange accent that tried convincing me to go for alternative services and plans.. i insisted i have no more use for the service..

she asked a few verification questions and cancelled my account!

i just received an email confirmation from efax.com stating "Per your request, your account has been cancelled. Billing for eFax® number XXXXXXXXXXXXX will cease immediately. "

    so happy this worked out!

  • Efaxcom big scam warning

  • Big scammers, impossible to cancel... God Bless

  • same thing happened to me...this is deceptive and the only reason is to trap customers

  • deny money. then they will file a default and eventually stop. works every time.

  • good video! i'm stuck in a similar situation on fax.com, where you have to go through a CHAT to cancel the membership, that noone ever shows up on the other end of, and they don't answer their phones, and of course their address is a PO box... so freakin pissed!

  • I am stuck in this situation right now :( how did you finally escape???

I have just signed up last week for this and this is what I am getting into. I am running into problems with the customer service department. I keep getting the run-around, being put on hold, etc. I signed up for the 30 day free-trial which I thought was free (which is unclear in their service agreement), but they insisted they will charge me instead. I talked to three different reps today and all told a different story to why I was charged. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! A SCAM!
