@BurqueBlackCross Why/how would anyone 1) know u were a member of BBC 2) care if u were a member of BBC? As long as u can pay the tuition, they will teach anyone anything.
@BurqueBlackCross I hear what ur saying. But when u go to war, (as many there believe), dont expect the "enemy" to provide medics for ur cause. At least, not until u have surrendered.
Be that as it may, if u wish to be recognized as a "medic", then then get certified as an EMT/Paramedic. THEN u have legitimacy. A city council doesnt have the power to make u a "medic".
No smart goverment will acknowledge a "Street Medic". If ur an EMT, nurse or doctor, then fine. They are highly trained individuals. A "Street Medic" could be somebody with a bottle of water and a bandaid, and more good intentions than training. If "street medics" are legitimitised, and recognized by local goverments, they take the chance of incuring liability for their actions.
Street (or action) medics normally have wilderness first aid, something similar to emergency medical responder or occupational. A lot also have standard first aid. Of course, they all have CPR as well.
But there are some who are EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, ECPs and Doctors that do this on a voluntary basis. Hope that helps.
Neither licensing nor certification nor medical direction is required if care is provided as a good samaratin within the limits of their skill and training up the first responder level.

What kind of certification and training do these "Street" medics have? Are you licensed in the state of Colorado to provide medical care?

Speaker, you are awesome. Thanks for arranging this. My medic collective will see you there in Denver this summer.
