Memories for me too. Can I get this on DVD? Does anyone know if this appeared in other languages or whether Sony had similar infomercials for other non-English-speaking markets?
What model Betamax (or Betamaxes) was this video packed in with? I bought tons of Betas in the 80s and never saw this video! Did you get a USA Betamax, or European?
The problem is not the chinese, its the commoditization of electronics. Consumers want to pay less for more, and there are far more consumers. Sony lost the electronics lead long ago to Samsung and the chinese players by not adapting fast enough. If you are looking to get that feeling of vintage electronics used to create, players like Bang & Olaf. do so, but they are slowly going away... IE: Nakamichi.
I miss my Sony T7 Betamax... it was my window to the world and a tank!

That clock radio at 3:33 goes for big bucks on ebay (along with any other sony "EZ alarm" clock radio). It easily sells for over $50 USD.

Why don't' they make promos like this anymore? I'd like to see the magician and the little girl promoting the PS3 or Blu-ray.

i'm not much for video/stereo equipment like talked about here, but i'll take an 8088 PC any day to a brand new, top-of-the-line PC or Mac.
