this game, for me, sets the standard of what a brawler should be. Note captain america took a lot of inspiration from this. I hope to see more similar titles in the future adding new features. I really love this game, can't wait for Arkham City!

@kurvos First off, character depth. This game didn't develop the character of batman or any of the villains, it was just all out action. The series developed the heroes and the villains equally and to perfection. This really doesn't come close to the brilliance of the animated series. The series had great and complex plots as well while this game's plot is more straightforward and simple by comparison. I've watched every episode and I've beaten this game, so that's my ultimate decision.

@MGSFan22 .... have every single episode, and I've watched them. And I have the game, and have beaten it as well. And your judging it unfairly. We DO get indepth about stuff - like the criminal profiles and stuff. It doesn't try to give us the backstories of the villains - it would have made no sense. That's not what this game is for. But as for the designs, the settings, the mood, the adult theme, and the character traits are all nailed better here than even in the animated series.

@MGSFan22 Good example - Killer Croc. In the animated series, he was just a common crook and a dunce. Here, he is a pure monster - and both the coolest and creepiest thing I have ever seen.

@MGSFan22 I'm not trying to downtalk the animated series, honestly. I just wish they where made more like Arkham Asylum was made to base all the indepth stories with. Not to mention, while the show really feels like it's a bit adult - how many dies during the entire series? Exactly - no one. Which is kinda strange and annoying - worse things than people dying occurs there; and yet, we see people survive EVERYTHING there. Kinda provokes me.

@kurvos Well, that's because of the censors back then. Bruce Timm and Paul Dini talked about that on the DVD sets, they were permitted from doing a lot of things they wanted. But overall, I think it all worked in their favor, and they were able to get some subtle things past the censors like Clayface's death and Mr Freeze's death. I know those characters eventually came back from the dead, but they did die once. I personally think the show was perfect as it was.

@MGSFan22 Debatable. Even though I love it like hell, I could probably nitpick bits of it for hours. Like the first appearance of Harley Quinn. It was way too obvious in that episode she wasn't yet the character she later turned out to be. She even points out at one point another job she could've been educated to instead of becoming a criminal; even though she in later years is revealed to have worked at Arkham Asylum. Oh, and her character seems to be on calming drugs in that episode.

@kurvos I agree, the show had its issues, and not every episode was perfect, there were quite a few awful and forgettable episodes and lame one-off villains, but I think the good far outweighed the bad.

Batman Beyond, on the other hand, is a show that suffered from huge problems such as big gaping plot holes and the lack of consistency in seasons 2 and 3, as well as foolishly removing Derek Powers/Blight early on. If only the last two seasons of that show lived up to the first one.

@MGSFan22 Ironic - even though I am a huge fan of Batman, I've never been even slightly curious about Batman Beyond. Not even the feature movie, Return of the Joker. I guess I'm bothered by how stylish it's trying to be, and the music... and the fact that there's no villains I give a shit about there. If I want a futuristic Batman - I rather see them make a full length animated movie of The Dark Knight Returns, IMO.

After I saw how wrong they made the Joker in Under the Red Hood, I had not many reasons to be superhyped. And what's up with all that anime-style going on? But well, I DO appreciate some traditionally handdrawn movies, in a time when CGI is overused. BTW - you and I could talk more in private messages if you like - I love debates considering Batman. :)

You said it took you 20 to 25 hours to finish the story?, wow...this game was criticized by how short the story is, the game is beautiful and i love it, but we cant hide the downsides of the game. I finish the game in less than 6 hours, so is a major difference between what you said.
