  • I wonder. Is the grammar correct if I say: " Watashi wa noruego-jin desu." ?

  • nice..

  • Anata wa shibuya desu. Did I say that right? I'm still a noob. heh

  • Naww you're voice is so cute :3 Only on video 3 so far, but I'm keeping going, these are amazing! :D DOMO ARIGATO! ^^ I've been searching for good lessons for a while but yours are definitely the best! (: <3

  • thanks for doing these videos!!! I've been wanting to learn some japanese for a while now, and your videos are really usefull. I've been writing down notes and I'm pretty sure I can handle the first 2 videos now ^_^ arigato!

  • I'm a little bit confused, because there was all this complex describing of how the words work and stuff and then really fast exercises! Unfourtunately, what i was looking for was like "Hai is for Yes, Iie is for No, otoku is for Man, etc.." I'll watch some more of yours and see if i catch on!

  • @OMFGDmanrules Yes, please start at the beginning, and the purpose is to take notes ont he first part and study it. When you have it down, then continue with the lessons more than one time. Feel free to pause when I say the Japanese part, and try to translate it before the English translation is given to you.

  • @takineko Ok, thank you!

  • This is the most interesting way I have ever seen a book pirated before.

  • @kepsux Yeah, I tried to put the full bibliography in the description, and I didn't partner with youtube to get money off them. Plus they're out of print.

  • @takineko Hey, I'm not judging. It's useful, I can "read" a book while I do the dishes now. Thanks!

  • @kepsux Hurray! Everyone wins!

  • @kepsux Besides, according to the first few seconds of this video, "this is not a book" lol lame joke, sorry

  • I think it's easier to translate "soo" is "indeed." It makes it a lot easier when translating to English, because sometimes "so" just wont make sense

  • Soo-de su ka! I was put off by your beard...

  • Kore wa omoshiroi desu. ^_^ (This is interesting.)

  • your a good instructor,.,.and wat you teach is very useful in common situation,., but you speak too fast huhu :-(,., but your good,.,.thank you,.,.

  • I think you should do a short lesson on Japanese honorifics. Some Japanese honorifics are: -San (most common toward another person as a sign of respect.) -Chan (usually to a close female friend.) -Kun (usually toward a close male friend.

  • @3dsRulez this is how to inyroduce oneself in japanese

    hajimemashite (nice to meet you)

    watashi wa 3dsRulez-desu(i am 3dsRulez )

yoroshiku onegai shimasu (please be good to me / pleasure to meet you)

  • where can i learn how to say my name in japanese? plz respond cuz i want to be able to say 'Hi my name is Andres' in japanese :)

  • this is too fast,,,sloowly please..?

  • Wow, I'm actually learning *.*

  • you should do a full line of multimedia language learning resources - i'd buy :)

lol, if the books and audio i've studied before now were this entertaining, I would probably be fluent by now.

  • I just ordered the book LOL Love these lessons

  • @morikorikuto. No...? I do believe "soo-de arimasen" is it is not so. And "watashi wa arimasen" would be; I am not.

  • i see you have never played knifey forkey before

  • I... I just totally get it! =D

  • As cool12threeman says: kore wa hon dewa arimasen! This is correct and for "arimasen" there is the word "nai" so ... kore wa hon dewa nai! It's used a lot in anime and dialog between close friends !

Keep up the good work !

  • I am actually getting good at this. I find that except the new words I can understand the sentence perfectly and can translate them easily. I'm one step closer to understanding my Japanese animes!

  • I love learning from these lesson. I find it fun to like place the words around in the sentences like, "Sore-wa hon-de su ka" seems like That book is, but if you think of making it make sense, it becomes is that Is that a book? Interesting stuff.

  • Wrong. its not kore wa hon de arismasen its supposed to be kore wa hon dewa arimasen

  • Sore wa fooku desu ka?

No! This is not a fork! What the he'll is wrong with you?

  • Thanks!!! This is very usfull for me. Like your lessons. :D

  • With you, I actually learn something :DD Thank you!

  • You are my angel! Make hundreds of these!!! I looooove yooooou!

  • Is saying "Soo-de arimasen" the same as saying "Watashi wa arimasen"???

  • Ahaha knifey forkey! Genuous :D

  • Thank You *Extra Special Hug* Why go to a stupid penpal site when I can come here?

  • Watashiwa anatano sukidesu

  • Watashiwa anatano sukidesu

  • i love your sense of humour :)

  • this helped me get an A on my japanese =]

  • Very catchy! Arigato gozaimasu! ^_^

  • u rock :)

  • Are you in College or something, cuz starting around 0:20 and ending around 0:40 I only understand like, 3% of those words.... I'm not complaining though

  • I love your videos ! I kno japanese basic speech.. but I had no idea how to use wa or de or that de and su are 2 different words or that its really arimasu. I mean no one ever told me !!! I lov yu ! Ahem I mean yur vids xD

  • YOUR VOICE IS SEX!!!

  • @hardman659 This comment is the set up for many jokes. I just can't think of any right at this moment.

  • Takineko-san, anata wa otoko de imasen!

    Takineko-san wa onna desu ka?

    Hai, so desu.

  • @ibmdakshsucks Sou. Onna desu. :)

  • @takineko Waaah! Gomena sai! Watashi wa baaka desu! Hahaha! Thanks so much for the lessons you posted. It's the reason why I speak a little Nihonggo... to Nihonggo ga shikoshi wakarimasu. Domo domo! Haha.

  • @ibmdakshsucks You guys are so welcome, I feel so terrible about not getting any new ones out in so long. My stuff is all packed up sitting under our giant bed. We're in a tiny apartment while house hunting. Maybe I'll dig around one of these days and find my mic.

  • Takineko-san, anata wa otoko de imasen!

  • Ty so much...I wanted to learn Japanese but I didn't know how and then there was youtube :P

  • Thx for uploading!!!! I'm trying to self teach myself!!

  • lol a little sniff :P 1:31

  • @prototypecpal LOL perpetual allergies and sinus issues with me...

  • The diaries of a confused librarian.

  • hey i think when ever you say de arimasen you r so wrong, actually is dewa arimasen or ja arimasen or janai/dewanai what ever u wanna use, but just "de" isnt correct

  • This is really helpful! I'm 12 and I'm French, I've learnt all of the Hiragana あぁかさたなはまやゃわいぃきしちにひみうぅくすつぬふむゆゅえぇけせてねへめおぉこそとのほもよょらりるれろゔっん and Katakana (to lazy to type!) I even know 1954 Kanji! I just didn't know how to speak it, I could write and read it, I just didn't know what it meant, this is SUPER easy! Thank-You so much!

  • for some strange reason i want to hug your voice.... o.o

    only your voice xD

i like the way you teach us, your lessons and your jokes (bad jokes btw) XD just kidding!

but what with the hiragana, katakana and all that stuff? do you have video-lessons for that?

    ...

    watashi-wa L-desu... i mean otoko-desu

    anata-wa otoko-desu ka?

bueno ya..dejare mi trauma con el japones un rato XD

    hasta la proxima clase LOLOLOL

  • I've always seen what you did in lesson 1 and 2 but I dont understand why u put the 'de' along with 'hon'. I thought desu would go together. I have always heard and seen in other books of Japanese lessons that the negation would be :

Kore wa hon jya arimasen. because jya arimasen is the negative of desu.

please tell me if Im wrong or if its the same ?

  • Good lesson lol but i just don't like it how you crack jokes every page. It makes it harder for me to understand what you are trying to teach me no offense.

  • somehow, I find your lesson a welcome change...

  • c0ol video, Keep on doing what youre doing, youre doing good,

I hope i can learn japanese soon :D

  • What the difference between,

    これはほんじゃありません。

    これはほんでありません。

The first one is they way we were taught in my class. Is it more formal?

  • I know how we people can stand your voice long enough! It's because your videos are so epic that we can't stop watching them! Thanks for posting them, they are really helpful! + u make me laugh XD

  • i like your voice! :)

  • You go way too fast on the exercises, I constantly have to pause the video and rewind. :P

  • are you japanese? if not, are you fluent in the language?

  • "No, this is not a fork. What the hell is wrong with you!?"

Ingenius. :D This makes learning really fun.

  • Neither I can sleep, readin' this the WHOLE night.

  • i never seen you but i would bang the shit out of you.... thank you! you make my fucking day!

  • a questiion : when do u use arimasen and when ja arimasen for negation , i am listening Pimsleur atm and they use mostly ja arimasen . ?

  • well i like ur voice XD

  • Comment removed

  • lol, after the "Whats that, is that a knife?" your Sou Desu sounded so evil!

  • Wait, I'm confused. Do you always use 'De' after your object?

  • それわほんですか? HAHAHAHA

  • Comment removed

  • @m1chr0ma100 The word for lie is Uso. iie is the correct word for no.

  • @takineko it's because you used a capital "i" in the tutorial and it ended up looking like a lower case "L" which came out looking like "Iie"

  • @m1chr0ma100 If you mean at 1:50 , that has to be a capital "i" not an L

  • Comment removed

  • @sakishrist Thanks for the help, now it all makes more sence. At some times, I am just a confused swedish.

  • @m1chr0ma100 swede*

  • I've learned "ja arimasen"...

  • @roelvantoorn so have i ! this womans SORTA retarded :\

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hes gonna masturbate noooooooooo because is the miter of the nit aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • i adore you, you make me giggle!

  • Japanese is easier to understand than Sting, where you can only understand the last three words of every sentence.

  • I love your work. ive wanted to learn Japanese all my life. and been putting it off even after buying a few books. and watching countless subtitled mangas and movies. ive only seen three but you have a great teaching vibe. i hope you teach as much as you feel adds to somebody picking up this language. thank you os much

  • thank you very much, i do understand the way you explain more than others

    thank you for ur help

    love always

    peace to all

  • i like your lessons they are very helpful keep them up lil dude!1!

  • This is really helpful thnkx!! And yur funny. haha.

  • wow your voice sounds really familiar...

  • @diywhore Ok, maybe my sources were not right but I was sure about it...

    Thank you for the correction

  • ARI is not a verb. ARU is a verb, and arimasu is the polite form of the verb. Also , its SOU not SOO. SOO in romaji is wrong. DESU is one word. Whereever you are learning these lessons , stop, because its going to mess people up.

  • @rainbowrants Well then instead of trying to stop people from at leat learning a bit of the vocab maybe you could put up an alternative that would help us, in your eyes. Also that isnt constructive criticism, and whats the point of criticizing if you arn't going to tell people how to improve? When i say alternative is there another one that would teach me the proper way?

  • @rainbowrants "sou" means "seeming" while "soo" means "so"

  • why every example have a book?

  • In every lesson you mak me crack up lol! When you do the exercises your side comments are really funny!

  • Isn't the past of desu, deshita?? And the present negative of desu, dewa arimasen? And isn't the past negative dewa arimasen deshita?? o-o. This bypasses all I've learned about desu. I learned

    Present: です Present Neg.: でわかりません

    Past: でした Past Neg.: でわかりませんでした

You're telling me that this is wrong???

  • You do very good videos and i learn very much with them, please keep on doing them, you inspired me to keep on learning^^

  • i like this way of teatching it is thoulable mostly and easy to follow

  • god i'm doing good man you rock

  • Love your videos

  • you win. These uploads are great.

  • funny and useful. thx

  • Arigato Guzaimasu Nihon!:-)

  • GREAT JOB!

  • I'm learning soo much thanks to your videos,I can actually watch my anime episodes and understand more what they are saying without reading the subtitles...(LOL) YAY!!!!! It really makes me happy! :D

  • I agree, the 'Soo-de su" confused me for a moment, but then I watched it again and it made more sense. xD The sad thing is that I'm learning more here than I did in that french class I took in high school. o.o;

  • @TheAdelida You learned Japanese in French class???

  • @killawind1287 No I meant that I didn't learn any french while taking a class for it. And if I did learn Japanese in said class then that's thanks to a friend that was there. xP

  • thanks, but the 'Soo-de' is confusing. It is 'Sore-wa soo-de' which would be 'That so', right?

Sorry I wrote it, but it's way clearer now!

So 'Soo-de ari masu' that could be 'Soo-de su' means 'Sore-wa soo-de su' Which means 'That-subject so-object is' which would mean 'That is so'. Am I right?

  • Put off by your beard! Okay... wasn't expecting... (^_^' kawaii!

  • P.S. You shouldn't worry about your voice! Its just fine! :) and I actually can hear your pronunciation better then a lot of other videos out there, so thank you again!

  • Thank you so much for your videos!! I really enjoy them very much! Arigato!

  • 私はあなたの声とjapanesse.Iをあなたにたくさんのありがとうを勉強のように!再びありがとうございます!

i totally understood everything and the excercises again too

i hope you some more excersice though....

  • Watashi-wa fooku-de ni oite teeburu.

I don't know if this sentence is correctly formed.

  • Love love love the videos and the crazy commentarys. Don't change a thing. Learning a language has never been so much fun!

  • LOVE the videos, they are much more helpful than Rosetta stone. There is no such thing as easily learning a language.

  • first of all, i want to thank you, these lessons aren't that difficult, and they are easy to understand, thanks for making the effort, really.

and i have a question. do you use your own examples, or do you write them the same way they are on the book?

    thanks again!

  • domo arigato

  • Great video

  • what's chigaimasu ?

  • it means "No" you can just say" CHIGAU or JYANAI" but the polite words are CHIGAIMASU or CHIGAIMASEN"

  • let me just add some words. you can say, jyana instead of arimasen. for example. "Kore wa hon Jyanai" this sentence says with less manner. because masu and desu in japanese are the right manner to speak in their language. This is like you have a respect to any person you're talking with. Sorry but this lesson makes me more difficult to understand.. it's too long although it's the right manner.

  • very educational videos i have been learning alot

  • I can't refer to myself as mr. Darn!

  • Wait, Hai, soo desu = Yes, it is? I thought Soo = so. Where does the article come from? (it is an article, yes?) I barley know English! Lol

    Please explain 8)

  • from what i understand, soo means, as this lesson points out, so as in "is that so". I don't hink it means so, as in, "so let's all go to the lobby"

  • beard...! ha!
