Please don't get me wrong, I don't condemn dancing in Christs name. I don't even condemn those people you saw in the video. My judgment is that this is seen as "Christian". I ask that they leave Christ's name out of anything Todd Bentley has any connection. I would ask to leave dancing out of churches where solomn preaching and teaching of the Word should take center stage to anything else. It's through the preaching of the Word people will get saved, not dancing. Dance at home instead.

May seem nothing but I saw a documentary lastnight on a Muslim cult, and the men sitting and singing themselves into a trance with repetative words and tune, would do exactly the same thing...they explained it as a part of worship to Mohammad.

These people aren't dancing to the Lord, they are dancing to for Todd, for the young girl in form fitting clothes singing on stage. Whatever she said they did, whatever she did they mimicked. that's interesting, i also thought he looked like he was putting himself into some kind of trance. to those who say what's the big deal, just look up "morningstar madness" (with Rick Joyner) and i wonder if you'd also think they are just worshipping the Lord. my mother said this is how she always dreamed heaven could be (kingdom of heaven on earth?) which i found very sad, and always had to wonder what delusion must be at work. she said God would never send delusion but the Bible tells me so.

oops, ALWAYS should read ALSO in my previous comment. the changes i've seen are recent and sudden, but the ingredients have been in place for a long time, if that makes any sense. i know what you mean Streetfisher, it's the labeling of this as Christian that also bothers me, the speaking for God and misrepresentation, that i think is so damaging. dancing in itself is ok, there is a time and a place, in fact i believe my life was once saved by an angel who urged me to "dance!" i had overdosed

My initial impulse was to focus on Todd - is he possessed, a calculating sociopath, sincere but misguided, or just a moron?

texasrocks888, I like your name. There is nothing wrong in worshipping our triune God. But the Jesus being worshipped in the vid is not the Christ who came to seek and save that wich was lost. A few of us asked prior to the show, what is the Gospel? No one could answer, not one. If I called myself a carpenter and could not build a simple box, I would be a liar. If you call yourself a Christian you better be able at least to explain the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Thanks. I was there that night and I see several people I know in this, they were sitting all around you. Now I no longer support Todd Bentley BUT there have been some good things that have come out of Lakeland, its just the bad overshadows the good. Todd has changed, he's not the same person he was back in 2005 when I met him and spent the weekend with him in Austin. He's gotton ALOT more tattoos and has fallen into some things that are not of God. I still love Chuck Pierce and Keith Miller!

Even more so an example of post modern thinking mixed with Non Lordship thinking. Those 2 things are not the cause of sin, just an outcome of sin. Remember, sin is transgression of the law, period, the 10 commandments. Todd is a dead tree, he can't produce any fruit. Only Christians produce good fruit.

I don't have a crown so I can't lay it down. I will one day though and I will lay it down. I don't think though in this situation people are mosh pit dancing. Falling down before Him, doesn't require me to jump and jump and jump and resemble a crazy woman doing the same. I just can't relate that the todd show resembles heaven. Not even an earthly king would put up with the todd show nonsense. It's always reverence, grace, caution, prior to approaching any throne. This shows no restraint.

There's many different forms of worship and I think all of them bring a smile to God's face...he doesn't care how his praises are sung. And David danced before the Lord, why shouldnt we do the same? While I think the conference was more about making money than bringing in revival, the worship WAS good. And I left after worship anyway, haha.

The question I have is why go to a false teacher conference when the best worship anyone could have is in your room. Reading Psalms and praying the Psalms is enrichingly powerful. No show, no music, no one telling you to lift your hands, no one telling you to give God a praise clap. It's only you and God. Worship is also gathering with your family around Christ. Worship is reading the scriptures. I see only showmanship at a todd this conference.

Well at the time I didn't realize what was going on there...but I do now. Why were you there? Back in 2005 when I was at one of Todd's conferences with Keith Miller it was totally different and people were actually healed. It wasn't about money, power and prestige as it is now...it was just about Jesus.
