you idiots killed many islanders when bombing to free us. then you ruined the island by builong here. now it looks like a small city. something the guamanians didn't want. those who came a died here... I could care less. I'd rather be under Japanese rule
@noob2top3210 what ever your veiws of war are,? remember this @noob2top3210,guys like my uncle went to war at 17,they left there legs, arms and guts there, they died for the american way of life we now hold for granted, the way of life that allows you and me and every body else here to voice there views, like here for one,had we not gone to war, ither we would be speaking german or jap' lingos right now, things were diff then, now we have stupid wars,
@ravenwolf1952 Yes, sir. But you see I am a mere immigrant of the united state. Just a foreigner of this country, yet I have set myself to join the military to be a Doc of the United State, when I could set myself to find a high paying job to support my family. I have a couple of reason to join and one is to hold the ground that was once held during the Great Wars of USA. US is only a Empire and it will fall like Rome, Mayan, Aztec, China, Byzantine and others.
A guy I used to work with was a Marine in the landing in Guam. He said he had taken about 5 steps out of the Higgin's Boat when his left leg "gave out". He couldn't stand and almost drowned. Another Marine threw him back on the landing craft. He discovered that he'd been shot through the leg, just above the knee. He later went on to win a Bronze Star (and ANOTHER Purple Heart) at Okinawa. Old guy was the "real deal" I'd seen his medals and the Telegram his parents got when he was wounded.
@randy109 Do you happen to remember the mans name? My father was there with the 3rd marine division. His best buddie died in his arms during the invasion.
My parents were alive when our country was liberated.. and believe me, it is far better then the Japanese.
Furthermore, if Japan consolidated power in Asia (if they attacked peral harbor, then the US West Coast is also nothing) and Germany in Europe, you'd have to be crazy to think over time, the US would not have been invaded, or hurt commercially, which would have led to easier invasion.
So these guys did fight without worrying too much about losing their mortgage, gadgets, etc.
For sure. Esp in the moment, during the times, etc., they only care about the basic thing (what's in front, family).
But by doing it thinking of others (again, the ones they knew, families, friends, etc, and even country), it also emcompasses something larger, a whole system of values, an extension to those 'unrelated', 'unfaced', 'unmet' people and their posterity. Which includes all future generations, whether being purely conscious of it or not.
In order for your family and children, grandchildren to have freedom, it also means all those others around them will need to be free and have liberty.
Collectively, it is even more. But in some ways, bc of the great opportunities, advancements today, free from authoritarian rule, due to those sacrifices, in a way, it has led to 'entitled' generation that often thinks of 'what's in it for me... well screww that if there ain't any'.
I'll admit, if these Soldiers and Marines saw what the politicians and bureaucrats, Wall St. have taken, and are taking this country, they may have thought twice.
Nevertheless, my parents are from a country that was taken over and ruled by Imperial Japan (who btw were trying to wipe out my culture), so as a side, I am grateful for the defeat of the enemy.
@karlkarlkarl1234 True, it was not from an enemy outside trying to invade though, it was from treason and subterfuge from within. Just like the founding fathers predicted.

These people fought and died so we could ALL have our freedom today. I mean think about that.
Many today complain, feel sorry for themselves, etc.. but can you imagine dying today for ppl of the future?

No..they fought and died because they'd be put in prison by the old men who started the war in the first place.
