Not everyone can cut weight and fight effectively, just as some people cant gain weight and fight effectively. Otherwise, every heavyweight would be 120kgs just like Overeem. At 6'5, 93kgs is too difficult to fight at. You lose alot of strength and energy when you are cutting to stay at that weight. I'm 6'4 108kgs and i couldnt imagine cutting to 93kg

People dont understand anything here. Let's break this down so the simple minded can understand. Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, designed to protect ones self from attackers. So when youn have a big scary man running at you swinging his hands, you can simply lure him into his demise. This is not a street fight, this is MIXED martial arts. Jiu-Jitsu is probably the best base you can have, but if you can't adjust and adapt to a fight, you fail yourself as a jiu jitsu student.
If I were Overeem's coach, I wouldn't be cool with him taking so many hits to the face, he needs to boost his boxing ability and actual self defense (or something) because he leaves himself open. I'm not sure if its him playing Mr. Tough Guy or what, but that will not the key to winning matches (in my opinion).

People think this guy will beat Lesnar? The only way he'll beat Lesnar is if he gets a really really lucky shot in. Lesnar is gonna take him to the ground and beat the shit outta him. The UFC is a completely different level than Strikeforce and if he's performing like this in Strikeforce, he's gonna get destroyed in the UFC.

To be fully honest i dont see how overeem won, he was hit more by werdum than he hit fabricio. They wernt affecting him i know cause werdum has crap striking, but they still scored for him, i would have had it a draw or slight win for werdum.
The fact is neither wants to ground fight werdum, he would destroy everyone who comes to the ground fight with him.
i dont understand why alistair did not strike him when werdum tried to punch him if they wernt affecting him at all?

@TheXeniaonatopp Overeem had more counting strikes, he was in control at all time, and he was making the fight. That's pretty much all you can award points for in MMA in favour of Overeem. I can't see how you can even call this a draw. Werdum looked like a fool here.

@TheXeniaonatopp Anyone could've done that. It was pretty clear Werdum wasn't hitting anything. It was technically bad, it was blocked and not very powerfull. That kills the scorecard. It was just punching away in blind panic at half power, and falling over the moment Overeem extends his arm.

And i don't know if you heard about the financial situation over at the K-1? They are bankrupt, and a LOT of fighters still are waiting for money from them.

yeah everyone knows about k-1 s financial problems , it doesnt help that japan as a whole is ruined by that tsunami , but that wasnt the reason why the 2010 k1 was so weak. it was mainly injuries and lack of intrest from the top fighters.
overeem would not have come in the top 3 if the competition was up to usual standards.
