@zenbrenzz ok. im going to tell you all the things wrong with your statement. We dont need the department of education. the state should run the schools. And second of all the teaparty is fired up with hatred. they are mad about democrats and obama taking away americas rights and liberty. And corporations are not bad things. They are what make your cars and build your houses and give you food to buy from the store. and why hate on the rich. They worked hard all there life for the wealth.
He forgets that the poor or middle class don't create jobs. Why don't he stop talking and start a business. He can then hire the poor and middle class and hopefully he can make payroll every week. Of course it becomes harder to make payroll when the governement wants more of his profits in taxes.
@bestwin1 When was the last time the rich created jobs in this country instead of taking the tax cuts and still sending jobs overseas...It's called greed. How many yachts and private jets does one need?
Republicans have been no good - they're the reason why we've had a bunch of boom-bust cycles. Why do you think we are in a recession and not growing? REPUBLICANS
there was more spending under Clinton than any other president except Obama who spent 4 times a much as Bush and wants to spend more i bet none of the problems will solved and that 90% tax cut have not seen it nad he has been office 18 months now. Reagen spent most of the he spent went to defense, it was the democratic congress/senate who spent on useless programs.

He says that 70% of our debt is because of three Republican presidents. Reagan and Clinton did the best in recent years to do the right thing. GHW Bush had the Gulf War and he was a Progressive. GW Bush turned out to be be a Progressive Republican. Here's the funny thing. Obama's policies and that of the Democrats now is making Bush's spending look like pocket change! It's Progressivism that is going to destroy us - not Republicans or Democrats!

Your thoughts need to be heard!! Would you trust Obama's new Health care legislation?? Drop by my tube profile to learn exactly why Americans points of view are valued !!!
1. How about the 1 trillion obama will be adding to the debt? 2. Middle class earnings only doubles because of greedy unions. 3. No one is getting a tax cut after all of obama's spending. Everyone with an income will be taxed to make back this money.
you guys HATE facts, don't you!!! You didn't make ONE valid or true point at all. One questions. Where did Bush go right? He had a 1.35 Trillion Dollar tax cut progam and look where it got us.
@Pellett29 The budget was projected to be 1.2 trillion before Obama even got into office because of the bailouts Bush signed at the last minute... now the deficit is going to be just under 1.5 trillion... plus the deficit was hurt because there are less income taxes coming in due to unemployment
Even if or when Obama gives the poor middle class tax cuts, and raises taxes to the rich. That is not going to help the poor out. You can't make the poor rich, by making the rich poor. It doesn't work. What do I mean?
Ok, Walmart would be part of the rich right? Walmart is a multi-million dollar industry. What happens when Obama raises taxes to them? Walmart passes it on to you :P The prices of their merchandise goes up, and they DOWNSIZE. I thought Obama was trying to save and create jobs?
if the taxes stay the same for the rich they will still raise prices and layoff workers because they will make more money it a no win situation for lower and middle class either way
First of all, I haven't seen these tax cuts that TYT and Obama has been talking about. I'm pretty sure everyone else hasn't either. TYT is Fraud, and so is the radical socialist (communist, marxist) leftist that was voted in office.
Bush dealt with 9/11 and had the support of congress and kept us from going into a recession. Now dems have control, and completely blew Fannie and Freddie causing the current financial fiasco were in now. No those job losses are soley on the shoulder of the democrats.

I have a relative with a small business, maybe 300K year? And they have kids. So they are torn because Barack's plan may force them to fire people to pay the taxes. They already can not pay for health care for their 3 employees. But they also want a bright future for their kids, which Barack will create more so than McCain. And both my relatives do not think Palin is qualified, so that will really hurt any chance they may have of voting for mccain, they will vote for barack I'm sure.
Then maybe "TOM" or you should post your sources of these "facts" on the sidebar so viewers can see them for ourselves. Because you just can't doubt a guy named Tom who is a viewer of this channel and not have bias in his report. By the way I didn't know that president was responsible for spending of a democratically controlled congress. I will research these fact because I know their wrong and I will post them in your comments and I will source them.
There are a few things wrong with this. The first is that those portions of our debt occurred while Democrats held the majority of the seats in Congress, the Senate, and the House, and they never say where the money went. People also need to realize that you will see the affects of the previous term during the current term, which means the debt was because of the three previous presidents, most likely.
democratssuck666, u have 666 in your name. The number of the devil, ummmmm okay, if i ever was thinking of going republican u basically changed my mind. and with 666 in our name, you probably should just shut the fuck up cause you're making your party look bad.
Or a warmonger (in which case you BETTER be on active duty yourself).
Or a flag-waver who votes for vets, even if, paradoxically, their policies will be worse for vets.
Or a fundamentalist evangelical religious doomsday cultist who longs for Armageddon.
If you're not in one of those groups, and you're not a racist, then you'd have to be crazy to support the party that is literally opposed to all your interests.
After 50 years of a democrat congress, you can all imagine why we are in debt. "National tax Payers Union" Not only are you wrong but, your lying out of your ass. Its funny:)
I don't know what planet you're from, but for the first 4 to 6 years of the Bush admin, we had a republican congress. The congress has not been strictly democrat for 50 years. Stop smokin' crack, okay.
Well, just because you have a degree doesnt necessarily mean you know how to run the economy. Bush has various degrees but people dont think of him as an intellect. Obamas plans for the economy will bit him in the butt. That is why he is becoming more moderated especially when it comes to taxes. He knows that raising taxes on the high earners will kill business, and investments.
ha ha ha ha i am sooooo tickled now! i called you no names! but thanks for showing the real hate that out there for obama!...now thats what i am talking about show that hate we love it! it shows the real side of the republican! lmao!
democrats are about to have the majority of the senate and house, they never controlled it..it was the republicans who have controlled and have created a 50 billion dollar deficit..oyu devil....go baptize urself and change ur number...
"go baptize urself and change ur number", what does that even mean? If you think that the republicans brought deficit upon us then you are far to retarded to debate. Check up on FDR W.W,,,
wow...1.obama's going to practically double our payments in taxes...mccain is going to not change sure he might make tax cuts or whatever, but we're not paying double in taxes and then getting the rest sucked outof our bank, too.2. gas prices...the oil companies bought the designs for effienceint working cars...hire a modern day einstein ot edison and POOF problem solved3. random> everyone needs to stop banging conservitives vs. liberals or dem.vs.rep. becasue everyone should still be AMERICAN!

Lets put a windfall tax on big oil- Obama. Good idea, lets tax big oil more when they already put 70% of profit towards more oil for "you". A tax on oil would cause prices to go higher and ethanol will continue to damage our food economy.
my family is republican and i wanna be democrat...whew..umm can you say..um household bitch fighting?!!! i just want someone other than a repubblican to win..cause bush fucked up our system...and McCAIN will most likely do the same...I don't want a president that came out 14 out of 28 in his college graduation...it proves he's kind of stupid....=[ if your close to not graduating.
and obama was a professor....he's very smart. but because of his preacher WHO WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE CAMPAIGN
the democrat and republican parties are two sides of the same coin, we need more than two political parties in this country to make an effective democracy.
we also need poeple to stop assuming what one person in a party will do the others will...if one commits a crime, i'm pretty sure everyone else in the party won't
We Just Need Americans to run for president
(& this is a democratic republic...not just one or the other so people can stop saying that's its just a demo. or rep.)
1)I don't know if you learned anything about our history, but the USA single most increase I Spending that plunged us into Debt was created by FDR, under The New Deal. Increase of 697%. Woodrow Wilson, also a democrat had the Second largest increase in spending, with a 292%. Under L.B Johnson it increased 31%.
Well gee in hindsight what Bush has spent is not that much compared to our past presidents. Not even to mention the social programs Obama wants to put in.
YEAH CAUSE HE NOT A FUCKING LIAR......OOOooo...wait he the biggest fucking liar in the free world. But that doesnt matter your just going to vote for him because you think hes black.
"your just going to vote for him because you think hes black."
I never said that. I would never stoop to vote for someone based on their race, sex, looks, background, family or religion. So yes, I would vote for a black, female homosexual atheist/muslim/satanist with a criminal background and a poor family if she was of the same political opinion as me.
Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President.
Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and
43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side.
While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya, his father's family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro).
Not necassarily, If the high income earners are taxed at a high rate, it gives less motivation to earn, this helps explain the failure of socialism (although there are many other reasons why it doesn't work). Furthermore giving the poor and middle class tax cuts costs the government a lot for a small cut.
You can tax other things than income, and look at Scandinavia - they have the highest taxes in the world, but their citizens are listed as the happiest and most content in the world!
And what you say is true, we (Denmark)is listed as the number 1 happyest place in the world.
And that is because we are in a society that takes care of the poor.
We have Social securety (fre hospitals, edurcation and so on), (and "bistand") that meens that if u lose your job you dont have to move from your house or anything til u find a new.
You will recive money from the state while unimployed.
Giving money to rich people doesn't create demand, and therefore it doesn't magically create jobs. But giving money to the bottom 90% of Americans makes sense, because more often than not middle and lower class people actually spend it, which increases demand of goods in services which in turn allows even the rich to make more money. In other words, everybody wins instead of ONLY the rich winning. So crying about how the top income earners pay too much in taxes is really short-sighted.
And lastly, the figures I gave come from the Federal Government Statistics office....go check it out.
This is why everyones a Demorcrat untill they turn 35. Ignorance is bliss....I cant wait till we go talk to the leader of Iran who says the "Hidden Iman" (next coming of christ, in Islam) is running there government right now and wants to completely destroy Israel.
That will be smart as he is a well grounded person.
Also I am tired of hearing of how great that the economy was under Bill Clinton...The 1990's the Tech Boom...The Internet Boom...that crashed the last year of his presidency...A Monkey could have been president and the economy would have been good...he had nothing to do with it....Or maybe your talking about the new Tyson chicken plant he helped get open that provided plenty of $7 an hour jobs.
Americans that make over $75,000 per year allready pay 80% of all Federal taxes.
I process loans so I see alot of peoples tax returns...many people that make under that figure and own homes end up paying none or very little taxes once they file there taxes returns.
I dont care if anyone believes me, I see it on paper everyday.....and by the way I make under $75,000 per year.
Oh, I have no doubt that Rush Limbaugh has tried to make the same arguments about Republicans in the past, the difference being that he either provided no objective evidence and didn't encourage anyone to look into it for themselves. And that makes all the difference in the world.
Apparently fact based arguments get under some people's skin so they resort to personal insults. You know, they say things like "fucking retard" and pretend to have a more reasonable position after you call them out on their unreasonable position.
I'm only going to say this once: Unless you conservative contrarians bother to look into the research and debunk it point by point, I don't want to hear your generic dismissals. For example, crunch the numbers on debt and tax policies and THEN get back to us. As for Larry Bartels research on wages by president, he has ALREADY addressed and debunked your concerns regarding which party was in control of congress and issues of lag time, how much influence the president has, etc. The End.
Tax and spend as opposed to borrow and spend? Give me a break! Even if I accept your scape-goat bullshit premise, it comes down the president to promote a responsible tax policy that generates enough revenue if he knows that spending will remain high. He also has something called a "veto". Incredibly expensive wars and massive tax cuts=National Debt and a weak dollar. You want to blame that on Dems? You're laughably misinformed. It's sad really.
Translation: You want to see conservative numbers before you respond, because otherwise you know you don't have an argument. And by your logic, why bother electing a president at all? Let's just have a figurehead, like a Queen or something, and then focus on Congress. What a laughable cop-out.
I would disagree with those "facts" on face value for a multitude of economic and statistical reasons (I believe they're qualitatively correct, just not totally quantitatively correct). I do think Democrats are slighly better than Republicans, but that isn't saying much.
Have at it. Publish your paper that debunks these facts on a quantitative basis. Send the wage growth paper to Larry Bartels and send us his response. Send your tax analysis to the Tax Policy Institute and let's see their response too. I love the youtube economists who disagree with things because again, it challenges their existing belief system. But they provide not a single shred of evidence and instead throw out generic reasoning.
I wouldn't do much but tweak the numbers. Besides, I could care less. I'm not pro-democrat or pro-republican, pro-business or pro-labor. I believe these facts to an extent, which don't challange my belief system whatsoever. However, I do believe it is faulty to attribute them merely to presidency. And it's not like the relationship between wage growth & good tax policy and a Democratic presidency is immutable. We can say Democrats have been overall better, we can't say that will continue.
It's not about the man in the White house, it's about the administration and ideology of the administration and party at the time. Saying "president" is shorthand for that. Again, I encourage you and everyone else to google Larry Bartels and actually READ about how he came to his conclusions. He addresses the concerns expressed. And thanks for listening.
isn't it funny how this prick thinks that the news is conservative he is an idiot typical democrat punk pussy who doesn't even know what he is talking about. i would rather be in debt then be bombed with a inexperienced candidate (obama) who wants to pull out of the war
The last several Republican presidents have worked with Democratic Congress, and Congress controls the purse strings. Democrats in the Bush Presidency have underperformed because you mostly hate normal people.
Yeah, Republicans hate the poor. I know. I am the poor. I still can't stand the Democratic party. It's like having feces stuffed down my throat listening to you people.
The Dem Congress has an all time low approval rating because they're not doing enough to stop the failed and incredibly unpopular Republican agenda. It's funny when people point to low Congressional approval to argue that the Dems are worse or just as bad. Give me a break. They have their flaws but their biggest flaw is that they're not doing enough to stand up to Bush, and the low ratings reflect that. The answer is having stronger Dems, not more Repubs to drive the country down further.
No, the president's policies have NOTHING at all to do with the debt. If Bush didn't push for an incredibly expensive war and massive tax cuts for the rich we'd still have the enormous increase in debt that we've had...oh wait, never mind.
I would actually like Cenk to share the sources that these people used... how come he didn't do that? I'm all for hearing facts, but I definitely agree with jtpaladin on this one. And Obama's economic views are not capitalistic... they are socialistic... like Jimmy Carter's and France, and see how their economy has taken a dump.
you are retarded. your country is sliding into recession with thousands losing their homes. your country caused gas to be skyrocketing and you're worried about a few social-economic policies. he DID talk about the research source. duh! man, americans are dumb as rocks.
Where are you from? And you lose a lot of credibility with name calling... like most liberals. Cenk is talking about socio-economic policies here, that's the point. And recession's occur in capalistic economies, its natural, easily corrected with the right policies.
Adelan06, if you're not even an American and you don't know anything about our system of govt., how can you comment on it and call other people names? As for Cenk's source, I would like to see a reference since his info doesn't conform to reality.
Why don't you look into his references. Google national debt and add it up if you don't believe it. Google Larry Bartels and then try and refute his research. Google (non-partisan BTW) Tax Policy Institute Obama McCain tax plan and sit and crunch the numbers. Pushing failed conservative policies and then ignoring facts that point this out is the best way to ignore reality.
Encyclopeteia, I don't know how many different ways I can explain this. Again, the President can not spend any money. Under the U.S. Constitution, only Congress can authorize spending. The national debt started to skyrocket when Jimmy Carter was President and the Demo Congress kept spending like crazy even though revenues were skyrocketing under Reagan. As for the Tax Policy Institute, it's run by the Brookings Institution, which is a very left-wing group and are not non-partisan as you said.
Lastly, a free market economy is the only thing that's going to save us, which means we need to build nuclear power, clean-coal power, and fuel our cars with ethanol as we develop hydrogen-powered cars. Having said that, things like NAFTA are not part of the free market and the bi-partisan moves to subsidize and make it attractive for U.S. companies to move jobs overseas, are also not free market actions. Obama is not going to do anything to solve our energy problems.
And you never addressed why wage growth is DOUBLE for the middle class when a Dem is president and six times higher for the working poor. Like Cenk said, if you want to present your solid research that counters that, do so. Otherwise ignoring it or just saying you don't believe it "just because" is lazy bullshit.
I need to see true non-partisan numbers before I respond. Again, the President does not control wage growth either, so I need to see how a relevant connection is made in order to justify what ever numbers.
jtpaladin, as someone else said, obviously they don't open up a tax payer funded checking account for the president to spend money. But obviously the president's policies (including massive tax cuts) make a huge difference. Also, I just read an article comparing spending as a percentage of GDP under various administrations and guess what? There was almost not significant difference between the parties. The both spend about the SAME amount of money, the difference is on what and tax revenue.
Congress allocates a small amount to fund the Presidential branch. All the spending you're talking about is controlled by Congress. And, I'm not surprised by the GDP numbers because except for 9 years, the Congress has been controlled by the Demos for 50 years so I would imagine that their tax and spend policies were rather consistent.
Also, if you think the Tax Policy Institute is biased, I'm still waiting for you to sit down with a calculator and some paper so that you can hammer out the details for yourself and present your conclusion. The burden is on you to debunk this and just saying "nah, I don't believe it because it challenges my core assumptions and beliefs" doesn't cut it. Try again.
I've done it before, it takes a lot of time, and I'm not going to work out the numbers again. I can easily provide numbers from a source that you would claim is partisan so there's no point wasting time. Cenk made the comment and he's responsible to provide the numbers, but I'm still waiting for my initial request that I see some numbers from a non-partisan source.
Cenk, you are a moron. Our national debt was created by Congress. Read the U.S. Constitution. The President can not spend a dime. Only Congress can tax and spend and the huge debt came under the Democrats through the 1980's and 1990's. Only after the Republicans took power did the debt drop for a while but then the spending continued with Demos & Repubs together. Your figures regarding the "poor" are fabricated as well. The Democrats created the poor over 50 years of controlling the govt.
A better question would be, what is it about what I posted that causes you to have a problem understanding? If you can't comprehend the U.S. Constitution, I would have to refer you to a remedial reading class.
Really? During Carter's term, things were so bad a misery index was created! McCain is not giving the rich a tax cut, he is not reversing the Bush tax cut! Quit lying!!
Get your facts straight dgunsnfun!!!! Not only does McCain want to keep the Bush tax cuts (which he said at one point we could afford at a time of war, and that they offended his conscience). He want to give the rich EVEN MORE A TAX BREAK. Come correct or don't come at all.
The problem with most American voters is that they just listen to sound-bites. I agree with Cenk, if you're the average American you must be mental, if you vote for McCain.
I bet howapel thinks Obama's a Muslim. He's not. Also Marth48 didn't you hear him say bottom 90% tax cuts. AnywayIthink that it would be stupid to simply keep racking our national debt up the ass
No, of course not, poopsie. Remember, vote Republican in November and let the responsible adults run the government. Vote Democrat and we may just see Jesse Jackson castrate a sitting president, and that wouldn't be funny. Thank you.
Why advocate for a party that has continually ignored and taken their constituency for granted. The "Democrats" have had the majority for some time and have they stood up to this administration?
Those are reasons to NOT vote for a Republican. Not reasons to vote FOR a Democrat. More people lost there jobs under Clinton then Bush sr.. And WHO CARES that in the past their party's did things? Let's look at what the candidates are DOING, NOT what their party's DID.
Respectfully, that isn't even BS. It is an outright lie. Clinton's years saw a 20 million job increase. Show me a credible source that says otherwise. Liar. And the Democrat in this race wants to make the taxes of the BOTTOM 90% lower. The Repub wants to give a big break to the RICH.
What exactly does that mean? Are you saying you can only vote for someone who's of the same race...If you vote for a woman do you hate men? You should remember that caucasians are actually outnumbered by all the other racial groups in the US combined and hispanics outnumber everyone so, what you're suggesting really wouldn't work out the way you think. Obama's multiracial anyways idiot, just vote for the best candidate and leave race out of it...by the way checked out your channel, stalker.
to TalksWithSelf: I never said in anyway that people shouldvote for people of their own race. If you got that indication from what I said, then you are an idiot. The best candidate in this situation is McCain because Obama is an incompetent idiot who got a freeride for his whole life and doesn't honor the country that gave him his opportunities.
"...by the way checked out your channel, stalker." Now, how would I be a stalker if I live in the US and she lives Australia? Morons these days.

1. How about the 1 trillion obama will be adding to the debt? 2. Middle class earnings only doubles because of greedy unions. 3. No one is getting a tax cut after all of obama's spending. Everyone with an income will be taxed to make back this money.

Mplay1983 2 years ago

TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
if the taxes stay the same for the rich they will still raise prices and layoff workers because they will make more money it a no win situation for lower and middle class either way

Or a fundamentalist evangelical religious doomsday cultist who longs for Armageddon.
If you're not in one of those groups, and you're not a racist, then you'd have to be crazy to support the party that is literally opposed to all your interests.

Killernoonan 3 years ago

socialisticdemo 3 years ago
Giving money to rich people doesn't create demand, and therefore it doesn't magically create jobs. But giving money to the bottom 90% of Americans makes sense, because more often than not middle and lower class people actually spend it, which increases demand of goods in services which in turn allows even the rich to make more money. In other words, everybody wins instead of ONLY the rich winning. So crying about how the top income earners pay too much in taxes is really short-sighted.

Encyclopeteia 3 years ago
Translation: You want to see conservative numbers before you respond, because otherwise you know you don't have an argument. And by your logic, why bother electing a president at all? Let's just have a figurehead, like a Queen or something, and then focus on Congress. What a laughable cop-out.
Encyclopeteia 3 years ago
I would disagree with those "facts" on face value for a multitude of economic and statistical reasons (I believe they're qualitatively correct, just not totally quantitatively correct). I do think Democrats are slighly better than Republicans, but that isn't saying much.
UnhealthySalad 3 years ago
Encyclopeteia 3 years ago
I wouldn't do much but tweak the numbers. Besides, I could care less. I'm not pro-democrat or pro-republican, pro-business or pro-labor. I believe these facts to an extent, which don't challange my belief system whatsoever. However, I do believe it is faulty to attribute them merely to presidency. And it's not like the relationship between wage growth & good tax policy and a Democratic presidency is immutable. We can say Democrats have been overall better, we can't say that will continue.
UnhealthySalad 3 years ago
It's not about the man in the White house, it's about the administration and ideology of the administration and party at the time. Saying "president" is shorthand for that. Again, I encourage you and everyone else to google Larry Bartels and actually READ about how he came to his conclusions. He addresses the concerns expressed. And thanks for listening.

The reason these three major points are not made on mainstream media is that MAIN STREAM MEDIA ARE BUSINESS ENTERPRISES!
And business enterprises and their HIGH SALARIED EMPLOYEES are more interested in Republicans keeping their taxes low and feeding their greed.

And Obama's economic views are not capitalistic... they are socialistic... like Jimmy Carter's and France, and see how their economy has taken a dump.
mkzabel9 3 years ago
you are retarded. your country is sliding into recession with thousands losing their homes. your country caused gas to be skyrocketing and you're worried about a few social-economic policies. he DID talk about the research source. duh! man, americans are dumb as rocks.
Adelan06 3 years ago
Where are you from? And you lose a lot of credibility with name calling... like most liberals. Cenk is talking about socio-economic policies here, that's the point. And recession's occur in capalistic economies, its natural, easily corrected with the right policies.
mkzabel9 3 years ago
Adelan06, if you're not even an American and you don't know anything about our system of govt., how can you comment on it and call other people names? As for Cenk's source, I would like to see a reference since his info doesn't conform to reality.
jtpaladin 3 years ago
Why don't you look into his references. Google national debt and add it up if you don't believe it. Google Larry Bartels and then try and refute his research. Google (non-partisan BTW) Tax Policy Institute Obama McCain tax plan and sit and crunch the numbers. Pushing failed conservative policies and then ignoring facts that point this out is the best way to ignore reality.
Encyclopeteia 3 years ago
Encyclopeteia, I don't know how many different ways I can explain this. Again, the President can not spend any money. Under the U.S. Constitution, only Congress can authorize spending. The national debt started to skyrocket when Jimmy Carter was President and the Demo Congress kept spending like crazy even though revenues were skyrocketing under Reagan. As for the Tax Policy Institute, it's run by the Brookings Institution, which is a very left-wing group and are not non-partisan as you said.
jtpaladin 3 years ago
Lastly, a free market economy is the only thing that's going to save us, which means we need to build nuclear power, clean-coal power, and fuel our cars with ethanol as we develop hydrogen-powered cars. Having said that, things like NAFTA are not part of the free market and the bi-partisan moves to subsidize and make it attractive for U.S. companies to move jobs overseas, are also not free market actions. Obama is not going to do anything to solve our energy problems.
jtpaladin 3 years ago
And you never addressed why wage growth is DOUBLE for the middle class when a Dem is president and six times higher for the working poor. Like Cenk said, if you want to present your solid research that counters that, do so. Otherwise ignoring it or just saying you don't believe it "just because" is lazy bullshit.
Encyclopeteia 3 years ago
I need to see true non-partisan numbers before I respond. Again, the President does not control wage growth either, so I need to see how a relevant connection is made in order to justify what ever numbers.
jtpaladin 3 years ago
jtpaladin, as someone else said, obviously they don't open up a tax payer funded checking account for the president to spend money. But obviously the president's policies (including massive tax cuts) make a huge difference. Also, I just read an article comparing spending as a percentage of GDP under various administrations and guess what? There was almost not significant difference between the parties. The both spend about the SAME amount of money, the difference is on what and tax revenue.
Encyclopeteia 3 years ago
Congress allocates a small amount to fund the Presidential branch. All the spending you're talking about is controlled by Congress. And, I'm not surprised by the GDP numbers because except for 9 years, the Congress has been controlled by the Demos for 50 years so I would imagine that their tax and spend policies were rather consistent.
jtpaladin 3 years ago
Also, if you think the Tax Policy Institute is biased, I'm still waiting for you to sit down with a calculator and some paper so that you can hammer out the details for yourself and present your conclusion. The burden is on you to debunk this and just saying "nah, I don't believe it because it challenges my core assumptions and beliefs" doesn't cut it. Try again.
Encyclopeteia 3 years ago

Really? During Carter's term, things were so bad a misery index was created! McCain is not giving the rich a tax cut, he is not reversing the Bush tax cut! Quit lying!!
dgunsnfun 3 years ago
Get your facts straight dgunsnfun!!!! Not only does McCain want to keep the Bush tax cuts (which he said at one point we could afford at a time of war, and that they offended his conscience). He want to give the rich EVEN MORE A TAX BREAK. Come correct or don't come at all.

The problem with most American voters is that they just listen to sound-bites. I agree with Cenk, if you're the average American you must be mental, if you vote for McCain.

Why did all of the libertarians come out of the wood work in the last few hours? Someone has a mailing list apparently...
PS---Barr and Nader won't be elected. That means you have two choice (Obama/McCain), as much you hate it (for rational and irrational reasons).

NWKBricks1 3 years ago 2
Those are reasons to NOT vote for a Republican. Not reasons to vote FOR a Democrat. More people lost there jobs under Clinton then Bush sr.. And WHO CARES that in the past their party's did things? Let's look at what the candidates are DOING, NOT what their party's DID.
And if you do that, the best choice is Nader.
Marth48 3 years ago
Respectfully, that isn't even BS. It is an outright lie. Clinton's years saw a 20 million job increase. Show me a credible source that says otherwise. Liar. And the Democrat in this race wants to make the taxes of the BOTTOM 90% lower. The Repub wants to give a big break to the RICH.
That's what they are doing TODAY.

This country will never elect Obama president, for quite obvious reasons.

What are the reasons? Don't be a coward say it out loud.

It won't matter how much money you have, if it's not worth anything.
Only the super, super, elite will be ok...
Even your average millionaire will suffer like the rest if they're not prepared...
Prepare supplies now if you can afford it, or you'll end up like me & risk looting supplies later.

This guy gets dumber by the minute...
Thousands of "elected" officials & 90% of them need to be fired...
It doesn't matter who you vote for, votes don't count.
They could count someday, until then...
I'll be doing the write thing...
And voting Ron Paul.
Bglad.

if it hadn't been for the fact the republicans are anti-gay and anti-abortion they would be out on their asses long ago...

Cenk. If you vote for Barack Obama, then it's obvious that you hate your race.
Lrdvltr 3 years ago
Soooo Cenk hates the Human Race?
Mennion3 3 years ago
didnt get the joke.
soularimus 3 years ago
What exactly does that mean? Are you saying you can only vote for someone who's of the same race...If you vote for a woman do you hate men? You should remember that caucasians are actually outnumbered by all the other racial groups in the US combined and hispanics outnumber everyone so, what you're suggesting really wouldn't work out the way you think. Obama's multiracial anyways idiot, just vote for the best candidate and leave race out of it...by the way checked out your channel, stalker.
TalksWithSelf 3 years ago
to TalksWithSelf: I never said in anyway that people shouldvote for people of their own race.
