There seemed to be almost NO doctor/patient relationship. A good visit should leave a woman encouraged and amazed. I LOVE my midwife and I can (and DO) email her on a regular basis. I will never go back to having a DR again unless it is medically necessary. I hope that if this woman has another baby that she considers a midwife and doula. It is SO worth it!

@NitrousPC It may look like this but that is very untrue. it was a very busy day for him. he is one of our biggest fertility obgyn teacher thereis here. and yes I would definitely go back to him for my next babies.he is still my Gyno. he is the reason i didnt have c-section and also the reason I stopped hemerging after birth with out medication. however I am not against midwifery or having doulas. whom ever you are comfortable with is all that matters. however thank you for commenting.

I ended up not giving up on men over it, met a wonderful single Dad,eventually got married & we are now raising our children together. My daughters biological Dad entered the picture & is now in my daughters life a few visits a month. Life goes on, improves (usually ;) You are doing a great job, child birthing & rearing is hard work! Hugs to you & all Mommas :)

yes wedo have MV but I chose not to have one. my doctor has been delivering babies and dealt with fetility treatments with alot of my family memebers so for me i had lots of trust in this doc. the thing great with h im was that he wasnt tooold skool. its just sad to know that he probably wont be delivering my next children.

You should get a midwife before you are pregnant, or as soon as you know you are pregnant. You go to a midwife for all your prenatal visits, just like an OB. Midwives also provide well-woman gynecological care when you are not pregnant. They do the same tests (or more) as doctors--Pap smear, breast exam, STDs, blood pressure, blood tests, urine tests, sonograms, etc. You are sent to see a doctor when there are any indications that your pregnancy or health is not normal.

Oh and about this particular video I didn't think it was too bad really : ) If you're a fairly young woman like I am who has let the prospect of marriage, and in particular motherhood, cross your mind on occasion a candid little short video like this can actually be quite helpful as it shows from an up close near first-hand perspective of how exhausting and frustrating pregnancy can be in your final trimester and how coldly clinical and uncomfortable a doctor's visit is by that point.
