It's cmmon knowledge tat muscle rebuilds stronger after the micro-tears occur. I thought it was also common knowledge that hormones play a huge part in muscle growth but apparently not.

  • I was skeptical at first. But then I checked out your documentary and you seem like the real deal. You just gotta clean up your vids a bit, make them look more professional. Also, wearing sweaters and not revealing your real physique is not helping... I thought you were skinny until I saw your performance on the documentary!

  • actually your wrong man, there is ways to gain strength NATURALLY while working out... try doing legs before your chest work out..after working out a huge muscle like legs your body produces testosterone and when your done legs, your body has excess teststerone in your system so as soon as you hit the wieghts on your chest you have an amazing strength boost...i did that 8 months back and every week i was increasing 5 lbs until i reached 85lb dumb bells and i was 165lbs 16yrs old

  • Since you put it so nicely... You understand some basics of muscle growth, but you are missing an entire segment of the process. Agree with my methods or not, the reality is that the body's hormonal system plays a huge role both in muscle recovery speed and in protein tissue development. The area of science that covers this is called endocrinology, which explains things like natural testosterone production in the body etc...

  • Again, you don't have to believe me or my methods, but you should be aware of how your endocrine system effects your growth if you really want the most out of your training.

  • As for David F. Gentle, he is a respected historian of bodybuilding, but is not exactly recognized for ground breaking training strategy. Don't get me wrong, the old school guys are my favorite, but even many of them (not all) were supplementing with steroids as early as the 50's (Usually with the original D-bol steroid). Natural techniques of today can't make you like the juiced pros of today, but they can make you as big as the mild steroid users of bodbuildings golden era, but without drugs.

  • a good 3 days a week workout. followed up by good nutrition,protein and vitamin supplements and hard training,and postivie attitude,will yeild noticable results in 3 months.

  • I agree. In fact, I have a free 'at home' program I give out, which is a three day a week barbell, dumbbell and calisthenics program. Nearly any routine a person does will have an impact over three month, if consistent, particularly if they have not been active before. However, many people find these very basic routines leave them at a plateau. That is the unnecessary part, since the complexity of your body can be effected in such a way as to eliminate plateaus. The basics don't cover this.

  • Everybody has a different peak of plateau. whats good for some,may be useless for others. A good diet is essential. But so is a good mental attutide. along with HARD work. Theres a great old school book by David F. Gentle called Massive Muscularity Get it if U reall wanna get ripped and not Ripped off.

  • I don't think anyone is suggesting hard work isn't essential. The issue is really how your body's endocrine system works. There are slight variations in when growth hormone release plateaus and falls. Some people see levels rise for 30 minutes, while others are good for an hour. However, you can't develop a modern day natural, national level, physique by workout for say two regular, non-stop hours a day. If that is what is suggested that just plain wrong. You simply end up over training.

  • This time frame is proven and supported by all current research. This because your body increases its output of growth hormone when you begin working out, but after 45 minutes your body plateaus this increase. After an hour your growth hormone output plummets up to 85%. What you do after this point is far less effective and can result in over training.

  • Riods are to be taken by cheats. They may look all big and strong and healthy. BIG they are in a freaky looking way, healthy the´re NOT.

  • I use both methods. On a heavy day I warm-up and then do lifts in a range of 4-6. On light days I'll go as high as 15 reps. Either way is to failure.

  • SCAM!! There's no replacement for hard work and ROIDS of course! Eating right only gets you so far,eventually you'll walk on the dark side. Nothing taboo about roids the U.S. is the only country they are illegal in. Don't be an idiot and abuse them, like any drug it can harm you if you don't use as directed. Most pro bodybuilders have private doctors who administer controlled doses over time, and do liver and kidney test on a bi weekly basis.

  • No replacement for roids? Come on Lamurai. I am not suggesting that Naturally Massive will get a person to the size of today's pro bodybuilders, but a lot of people really aren't interested in that kind of size. What I do want people to know is that they can make gains that are bigger and more rapid when they apply the right techniques in their eating, diet and supplement strategy. The only scam is telling people that the only way they can get in amazing shape is by doing roids.

Funny though it may seem, John MacLean is not related to me. That said I don't shy away from family using the system, as my father is mentioned in the program, as someone who has acquired great results on Naturally Massive in his 60's.

  • Hey Sebastian, I have a question. I'm following your program but I almost never feel sore after doing failure 4-6 reps during the growth phase of your program. I think I'm seeing small progress but I don't feel like I'm doing as much as I could be doing. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Many people assume that muscles must get sore or a program isn't working. However, that is not the case, especially for smaller muscle groups. Soreness is an indication of lactic acic build up, due to an oxygen deficit. The more you train the more efficient your body gets and the less likely you are to get sore from short bursts of effort. That said, growth is achieved by stimulating muscle fiber and allowing recovery, soreness or no soreness. Check the following points as well...

  • 1. You need to warm up fully and go to failure, which means that if you are not requiring a spotter for all your heavy lifts then you aren't going far enough with your lifts.

    2. As mentioned before, sore muscles do not necessarily equal growing muscles. In fact, if every muscles gets sore every time, you may be over training.

    3. Your workouts need to be under 45 minutes in length and this often feels like too little, if you have been used to training for longer stretches.

  • 4. Full range of motion is essential or you just aren't using all the muscle fiber that you need to stimulate.

    5. Lastly, if you are going to failure on each working set then you are gettting your muscles to respond. It muscle failure that does more for growth than soreness, as the former signals your body that you need new growth. The latter is simply an indication of damaged tissue under repair.

This guy's solid dude. All his Youtube vids give sound advice and if you had looked at more than this one you would've seen that people been following his advice and seen it works for a lot of folks. Stop yer bitchen or try the shit.

  • Zetland06, people that are using the program don't come to this video page becausee it is the INTRO video. People watch the intro explanation and do something about it, which is why you'll see some people have asked constructive questions here. Others prefer to hang around the intro and complain about my claims, without evidence, because they've been getting such bad results on their own. Strangely, I get accused of both being too small to matter by some and too big to be clean by others.

  • Most critics argue against this because they have been training for a while and haven't seen dramatic natural results. However, many of these guys have failed to take a number of things into account in their training. These include: cell volumization, vascular flushing, nutrient based hormone boosting, expansion of fascia tissue, accelerated recovery technique, eating and training cycles, and correct timing of food/supplement intake. Each of these areas, done right, can speed natural results.

  • Despite the fact that people who use this program are seeing amazing results on a regular basis, particularly when they apply it in full, there will always be people who yell "scam". These are always people who have not used the program and simply refuse to believe the results are possible.   • k, first off ur not big. second just live life ull get big if u train right. im not talking arnold big, but bigger than u. no offence but im 21 and man genitics have a huge role in everything. further soy protien doesnt increase ur estrogen levels enough to do anything to ur training. (drink it every day, thats a myth) and if it did ur body would compete with the production of estrogen and produce more test, hgh...etc, the same way that estrogen is produced in excess when a user goes off juice.

  • "Big" is a subjective point of view. I have competed at the national level, so for some that makes me big and for others maybe not. Not sure where you get your info on soy, but there is legitimate scientific rational behind concerns about excessive soy consumption. Researchers Daniel Doerge and Daniel Sheehan, two of the FDA's experts on soy, provided a recent article, pointing to studies showing a link between soy and health problems. You can read more by looking them up.

  • I don't believe I said soy should never be used and I agree that moderate amounts are good for you.. What I suggest is that soy is not best as a main protein source. People are free to believe any PHD they wish on this issue, but the FDA's Daniel Doerge and Daniel Sheehan are considered authorities on soy in particular. They do point to studies indicating estrogenic influence of isoflavonoids in soy, which do promote estrogen peaking in higher doses. As you said though, no problem in moderation.

  • Well I get into this in Naturally Massive to some extent, but one way to ensure you boost hormone levels is to get enough of the right fats (Omega 3, 6 and 9) as they are necessary for natural hormone production.

    On the other hand, excess soy protein can increase estrogen levels and hamper growth.

    These are two exampled I can give you in brief. I hope that helps.

  • Truth is many guys out there have struggled to progress in the gym. After years of trying the same routines and diets some people remain open to adjusting their methods for better results. On the other hand, an insecure few out there won't take advice, prefering to place their failures on others. These types accuse anyone who is natural, yet getting better results than they are, of using steroids to excuse their own failure. Were it not so they would actually investigate before they criticise.

It's no surprise that you incorrectly assume my results are from steroids, since you are missing one of the most important parts of your own training. Natural hormone levels are highly influenced by what you consume. For example, the type of calories you eat will dictate how much insulin, growth hormone and testosterone your body produces. Some foods actually reduce the amount of growth producing hormone.

  • You are a scammer period. You have obviously taken steroids many times after the initial stint. Your physique is totally juiced and you are trying to scam people out of their money to make then think they can look that huge and cut drug free which is impossible.

  • I find it interesting that you claim to be 240 pounds and 8% body fat, while challenging me on being natural. For the record I only claim to be 176 pounds on stage and 6 or 7 % body fat. Unless your over 6 feet tall and big boned, you'll have to provide some visual proof of your "natural" condition. It's pretty easy to make grand claims and be a critic on a nameless message board. On the other hand, anyone can try my claims and get a refund if they feel they aren't accurate.

  • You don't have to just take my word for it. I made a documentary about taking an overweight, middle-aged, visually impaired, average joe and getting him in contest shape in one year. He wasn't huge by the end of just a year, but you will see how effective the approach could be over the long haul. You will find the trailer by searching Youtube for "Facing Goliath".

    The truth is that neither of the guys taking shots here have tried my program, so the criticism is unfounded and purely cynical.

  • Okay... first let me thank you for the compliment on size and definition. As for how it is possible to get that big and cut drug free, there is a way. However, I don't detail it out in Naturally Massive, as the focus of that program is building muscle without getting fat. That said, Naturally Massive alone won't get you looking like I did in those contest pics. To get that lean and keep size gains you have to play with carb and fat ratios, so that fat burns fast and muscle is not lost.

  • To some extent this is possible, but I would say it could be hard to do. You need to ensure that you get enough protein in your diet. Plus your fat intake will need to be there as well.

  • I find it really sad when kids struggle with math, even if the are insecure and rude. Here kid... let me help you run the numbers on my claims again. I call for gains of 2 to 3 punds a week, for two weeks. This is followed by two pounds of weight loss over the following two weeks. Now pay attention... 3 + 3 = max gain of 6lbs minus 4 pounds over the following two weeks. That's a net max gain of 1 pound a week, if followed under perfect applied conditions. Thanks for proving my point.
