I am super excited for this special. I've been checking websites up and down looking for a trailer for the past 2 weeks and I had to be away from the internet these past couple of days and then it surfaces. But i've seen it and thought the special looks very interesting. I'm definitely curious about the swarms.

However loads of people are saying it reminds them a lot of chronicles of riddick (never watched it). What's your opinion on the originality of the setting?

I loved the trailer, I'm really intrigued. We probably won't get the episode in Australia until about a month later though. Also the impression that I got from the trailer was that it was a little Midnight-esque, which is great because Midnight is possibly my favourite episode in season 4.

Looks like "Midnight." Disappointed. I wanted it to be a dark, grey, barren rocky planet that looks like death. But I guess that would be too high budget. But then, I hoped for that because there's only three bloody episodes this year. Bus in a desert vs. mosquitos? Looks like an average episode. A little cheesy, not terrible, but not amazing like "The Next Doctor."

The trailer looks AMAZING!!! It kind of reminded me of Midnight BUT it'll be a great episode by itself!

I pretty much love everything that you mentioned about the trailer!!

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Michelle Ryan's character. I'd hate for her to die just because I think the Doctor's seen enough potential companions dying but then again I can't really see her saying 'no' to traveling. Gotta wait and see I guess!

I cannot wait to see it! So that would explain why the Tardis is not there on the Desert Planet. Can't wait to see how the Doctor will get his way out of this intact.

Maybe the Doctor will somehow summon the Tardis to him? We did see him click his fingers to open the doors to the Tardis in Series Four, who knows how deep his conntection to the Tardis is?

They should replace the tardis with something crazy for an episode like a sofa tied together with magical rope, a talking mythical beast for a head (which looks slightly like a moose) a broomstick tail and wings. Then the doctor could fly it over the petrifying sands so that dorthothy gale can fight a large man made out of rock. But doesn't do much fighting because a chicken lays an egg and basically the rock man dies instantly.

that swarm looked like it was a swarm of alien sting rays which is beyond cool and the other alien looked like a giant grasshopper. The swarm of stingrays is just really really cool and i can't wait to see more.
