Using the stopwatch of my Casio calculator watch and my Samsung Series 5 Chromebook (plugged in) with a 25+ Mbps connection from Shaw Communications. All times start from one New Tab open and end until all flickering and loading completed. I am logged into associated accounts:

19.63 secs Google Docs

8.8 secs Google Maps (default location)

7.7 secs Chrome Web Store

Google FAILbook

Get a REAL computer with a REAL processor (not the puny Intel Atom).

Disturbingly, chrome os could enable me to do 98% of what I now use a computer for..... Makes me feel like I've lost my power user status. I've not tried chrome os but the concept is perfectly fine for a netbook os.

Os's have been successful because of their apps, or in Microsoft's case programs. From games, to video editing, or just cool stuff. Windows can handle almost everything, OSX can do some of that better. iOS is known to have the most downloadable apps on the planet. The chrome OS is just an internet browser that can probably run simple apps like angry birds. The iPhone didn't sell millions just because it can web surf. Microsoft and Apple did something right, I don't know what Google's thinking.
