@Supersweetguy guess it's all a matter of taste. i prefer power ballads and very strong vocals, for instance Gladys Knight. i do also like bubblegum, which, in it's way, may have been a precursor to punk music. there were some great singers in the 80s, like Breathe, Pat Benatar, Eurythmics, Stevie Nicks, Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey to name a few. but it sounds like we like different music. :) oh, elvis is not my fav, i dont care for beatles and beach boys. platters FTW.

This was an AWESOME tune by Patty Smyth and Co. What's sad, though, in my opinion, is that she was never able to duplicate the quality and fun she had with this song. Her next follow up hit with an all-new Scandal band, "Warrior" was drab and mediocre compared to this glorious hit. This song will be remembered as Patty's musical high water mark.
