  • wow

  • i think,we should think about closing of line out.

it isnt maul but not closing lineout, italy's player must maintain being their side.

    sorry for ...my poor english.

  • Genius

  • lmao!!! they made the english look dumb

  • Tried it in matches a couple of times. Very effective and makes the opponent start questioning about the meaning of life while making a maul against nobody.

BUT before doing it, tell the ref about it in the pre-match meeting in order to avoid futile discussion and potential yellow-cards.

  • @OdioU2BE ROFL the meaning of life part almost killed me :D :D But yeah that is genius

  • what a stupid hooker through but effective.

  • Offside or what's the deal here?

  • @borgdan1234

Not offside. The Italians don't make contact with the opposition, so a maul isn't formed, so no offside line.

  • what a bunch of panzys

  • bloody clever

  • haha cheeky Italians!

    Forza Italia, haha!

  • But it isn't that superb a move because alot of the time the ball carrier can just make a break from it as all the italian forwards are doing is just focusing on not making contact with the maul

  • this is actually genius

  • Is this still legal? Effin brilliant stuff by the Italians right there.

  • @blacknightro1 Yeah it is. As long as not a single player is bound. It become a truck and trailer, or a maul with no opposition. We do this on my side in the US.

  • wow. very very sneaky. awesome.

  • thats pretty sweet, ima try that ina game haha, ill probs be penalised for it cuz of the doddgy refs haha worth a try tho! lol

  • it seems like they are js rolling the maul

  • wow that is cleverr

  • cleaver.. i'd never thought about that..

  • that is one very clever move!

  • ahhhh!!!!!

    i dont understand!!!!

    wats up with the hooker?!??!?!

  • the hooker is making a legitimate move, if the italians joined the maul and the hooker then came in he would definitely be penalised. seeing as they diddnt join the maul there is no offside lines hence the hooker came in and tackled the player. hope that helps

  • @totrumppeto .. is it only the hooker allowed to come around and make the tackle ?? or any other member in the lineout??

  • @georgiewilliam Anyone can make that tackle as long as no one is bound. It's just more convenient to use the hooker since he has no one to mark at the moment as is already at the point of attack.

  • @oOGrandLineOo well basicaly, its the opposition ball , and aslong as the italians dont make contact straight away with the opposing team in that line out, there can be no offside rule, so while there is no contact, the hooker runs around the back which means he is ONSIDE and then tackles the person in control of the ball and it is then a TECHNOCALY Legal tackle

  • if you really think about it rugby in italy only truly started in 2000 when they were introduced into the five nations (which became 6 nations as a result).

So for only been playing for 9 years i think we are pretty good haha (ranked 12th in the world).

And the tactic is brilliant, quite clever.

  • this comment is perfect.

  • The funny thing is that Ryle hasnt a fucking clue whats going on. What a gay fucking wanker.

  • in that lat little part of the fim just after the clip against england what team is that?

  • Scotland. They are wearing their change strip because they usually wear blue as well,

  • oh ok i never seen them wear thoes color before

  • but that move is pure genius

  • in my opinion , they are in the top 10 of the northern hmisphere its ok, i think they will get better the next years , and close on the top teams

  • never mind.........

  • it works

  • mm...nice tactic...i want try this in a match! :)

  • thats gangster as!!!

  • class idea, makes the other team look pretty dumb

  • This tactic will back soon in fashion as soon as the ELV which allow collapsing of maul will be dropped. ( next IRB meeting).

    NO ELVs PLEASE!

We want old rugby back and if aussies disagree they can stop to play union and move all their teams into NRL and play league...

  • thats actually very smart

  • Very sly and clever

  • With the new rule experimental rules you can bring mauls down. stupid n dangerous. Absolut MORON thought that one up. The non maul approach is very smart though.

  • @TheZZ109 That rule was wisely rescinded

  • it's a clever exploitation of a loophole, and it fairly defeats the purpose of having such a strong pack, if employed too often.

  • LOL so stealing it

  • that is a great idea!!

    iam stealing that

  • = ]

  • good tactic, but they never get the ball

  • thats a really clever way of using the rules, they had no idea.

  • bella tattica

  • then why u lookin at it?

  • wtf, rugby is freakin awesome

  • this ass prolly doesnt even know what it takes on a rugby pitch

  • That is a very clever tactic... I noticed that it was only the opposing hooker that made the first tackle. Is he the only or first player that can make the tackle??? Does any one know??? Your answers are greatly appreciated.

  • its so they dont leave a hole wich can be attacked if their tactic doesnt work

  • We use that strategy here in the US for my club team. It works pretty well. Italy has been great in the Lineout always. Forza Italia!!!

  • good idea to mention to the ref before the game that ur going to do it, to make sure he's thinking and you don't get the knee jerk whistle against you. most of the refs are level three or two.

  • We always tell the ref that we'll do that, and sacking after the catch...

  • Connaught did this against Ulster expect Ulster got penalised for obstruction as Connaught didn't form the maul

  • well done! that's a nice tactic against a phisical stronger team!

  • ..but italian scrum isn't light ;)

  • Fall Maul ?

  • brilliant :)

  • i dont get it

  • Thats Brilliant!!!!:P:P

  • Full props to the refs for realizing that there was no offside maul.

  • i just hope it doesnt become a trend ... as a good front row player, i love rolling mauls =D

anyway, smart italians ... tonga did the same thing at the world cup against england ...

  • no maul

    no off-side

    ciao belli...

  • Italians (and the referees) demonstrate that know the rules !

And this is the correct way to fight the maul, that in the last years are becoming "orgoanized off-side"

  • there is no maul...the players have no bounds...pay attention to the lineout...rory198 is fuckin right

  • go italy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats great!!!!!!!!!

  • thats actually really wierd cos isnt that hooker collapsing the maul? which should result in an english penalty?

  • A maul is made up of players from both sides. The italians all stood back, so effectively it was just a bunch of english forwards stood together lol. Therefore the italian hooker was fine to come round.

  • You missed the whole idea! if there are no italian players bound to the front of the maul they are allowed to collapse it.

  • The whole idea is that there is no maul. So no one's collapsing anything, it's a tackle.

  • that's a great tactic...there is no offside

  • So if you don't counter the maul and run from behind, there is no offside?

  • For a maul to form... there needs to be players from both sides, so there is no offside line indeed.

  • Thanks

  • Last one is Pierre Berbizier french, prev coach was

your landmate Kirwan and he was really bad .

Fixing "soccer" matches ? Don't worry my friend, unfortunatelly there are the English so busy in fixing and cheating football matches too.

But you know,ev'rybody cheats in his national sport :

  • Interesting but it can be suicidal against teams such the all blacks.

  • I think that u should do your own business, MKuwashima

  • Wow, thats very interesting. I actually didn't know you could do that. Smart italian coach who taught them that.

  • I doubt the guy who came up with that was italian. all the italy coaches have been from the southern hemisphere and the latest one is french. The italians are too busy fixing soccer matches lol.

  • You kiwis cheated in America's Cup 1992 and against

an italian ship ......!! You're a kid and

probably nobody talked to you about that dirty

    shame.

No wonder, New Zealand Commonwealth's member :

being hypocrite and brazen-faced, just like

your major brothers, the English .......!!

  • are u able to speak about rugby? don't think so...

  • I'm a kiwi, obviously I can talk about rugby all day lol.

  • Great! so do that without insulting...
