Is that a winch on the rear of the machine? There must be a good reason why the driver did not attach the winch to something solid and reverse through this area. If the driver could find something solid enough (two other D6s) and the winch had enough capacity it could pull him through when the tracks slipped.

The D-6's had too long of cables here. They were pulling the stuck dozer into the bank. Had they shortened those cables they would have transfered weight onto those platforms and easily tugged him out. Gotta love this stuff either way!!
