Can someone please recommend some other movies of his? I haven't seen many John Woo films, but i did watch the killer and i absolutely loved it. Chow Yun Fat was awesome in this movie. Or maybe suggest a good movie with CYF.
All directed by John Woo and all starring CYF. If you love Max Payne, you will love these because Max Payne is based on John Woo's HK films. Check it out.
Oh my gosh - I just found a T-Shirt for this movie on ebay! There's only one day left on the auction! Youtube won't let me post the link, but it's listed as "The Killer Film T-Shirt XL John Woo Chow Yun fat orig."
Hollywood doesn't even know what a movie is anymore. All they care about is a money. They want their horrible films to make $100 million in the 3 day weekend. If there's any integrity left in this world, I would love to see it.
@eugene680 You got that right. I'm sick of 'transformers'(and the movies are slowly getting worse) and the likes of it. And as for integrity in the movie world, i'm afraid it's quite a rarity. Or let me put it this way, "If it were corporeal, then it'd be in a museum."
wow... ive heard of this film but ive never watched it... just the beginning bit when hes holding the dying man made me really sad... emotional... maybe it was the music... still i love john woo films they're just good fun
Please, help! I'm looking for the title. This (Hong Kong) film had a scene, where a killer had a white suit and black glasses, he killed someone with a silenced pistol through red apple or something. It was in the hotel (?). There was also a woman chasing some other guy - first in his flat (?) wich was something like a workshop. But a scene with an aple was very characteristic... let me know!
Found it! I have mistaken some facts in my description though. The title is "Police Assasins". It's great! Pure HK style (and full movie is on YT!). Thanks4help tersheytunnel!
i do need to get this on DVD I only own a sub version on VHA I bought from Tai Sing video some years ago and also a copy I recorded off of Showtime around 93. Its also subbed.
i have to say i did prefer Hard Boiled but I did enjoy the suspenseful standoffs and action scenes and a minimalist plot that was realy sweet. i did also find it sad when the monk was shot.
hmmm bullets kill in real life.. i hate to be the maiden of boredom but alas most of the footage would have the them all dead. typical acting gun play not remotely based on real life...

True camp. I love the flying body in the last thirty seconds. The bad guys are like acolytes of death, just throwing themselves in front of bullets.

at least he make Face/Off in which John Woo take a lot from his earlier Hk film, like a melodramatic plot and over the top action like this one.

F/O is my third favorite Woo film after this and Bullet in the Head. I like it even more than Hard Boiled.

It's not supposed to be realistic, Heroic bloodshed films never are.
