Well thats one way of treating it. The best self treatment is to use ant powder. Puff it into the entrance of the nest and then leave it for 24 hours. the nest and larve will be dead. only do this at night tho if you havnt got protective clothing. Im a pest control officer and there would have been a lot more than what you counted as a large number of them would have been out feeding when you dropped the nest. anyway job done. if anyone would like any more info please message me.
@MegaCakes101 The white things are actually casing of the pupa. The queens lays an egg then it turns into a larva then it spinds a cocoon which is the white thing you see. Inside that the larva morphs into a yellowjacket.
It's funner to shoot the nest while it's still hanging. The wasp poison is really potent and kills them on contact. Once you shoot the entrance they start coming out and dying on the spot and plummeting to the ground.
I don't get why people kills wasps. One day I was standing on a planter by the front window of my house putting up lights or something on the facia, then I turned around and was surprised to see two wasps sitting n their nest and looking at me. My head was about 18 inches away and they could've stung me, but didn't do anything. Oooh! Watch out for the "dangerous" wasps. Scary !
interesting to see wasp larvae but disgusting too do it in the night though they like sleep well if u did they sure would have a really peaceful night!!!!1 nice vid
Yup, they're hornets. If left alone the nest will grow to HUGE dimensions and can contain hundreds if not thousands of hornets. Then can really be a PITA to exterminate.
If you have this problem in August and September, be extremely careful! These stinging insects get drunk and I mean literally drunk off of fermented fruit that has fallen to the ground and become extremely aggressive!
My gf got stung by one, She got a high fever and was nautious, she than threw up that night and went into the hospitle where they told her they've never seen anbything like it. but, she's better now, unfortunately, She got stung by one the next day and went through the painful ordeal once again, she's over that one as well. But those are not things to mess with, TRUST ME!
those are ENVILLA Spieces HORNETS. They are SOUTH AMERICAN killers. Just look at the thorax (Abdomen) and the color and striping!!! You are very lucky my friend because I study those and they are extremely dangerous. One sting on a small child and you have a BIG problem on your hands. They sting multiple times if bothered and then they put a distress call out to the other HORNETS (keep in mind that Hornets are wasp family).
did you moleste them?
Moonshinedistiller 1 month ago
Had you ignored that nest, by the end of the summer there could have been thousands of hornets, and the chance of getting stung would have been high.

They aren't exactly eggs... these are sealed cells where the larvas grow up into mature wasps.

im allergic to wasp-bites and if i got stung, my head would swell to 25 times its size, and i would choke and die.

why did you have to use a pesticide? you could have just left the bag in the hot sun, or drowned them.
