The engine looks great but i think it needs to render its shadows a little better....and not trying to start a console war or anything but i think it works a little better on ps3 (for now at least) because compare the mountain in 1:20 on xbox and 1:23 on ps3...because you can see tht the trees on the mountain rendered a bit more on the ps3 than xbox, but we all know pc will be dominating this engine....

I think a mix of photo realistic graphics (as seen in Avatar and Happy Feet) and more interaction and feedback as in the Wii and Natal. And it would be cool to have gyros that add force to wiimote.

CryEngine 3 on the consoles looks like absolute shit- and looks like PC titles we had 5 or 6 years- Come on, we expected this from EA or some other big company sell out but not Crytek which pioneered Real Time lighting and graphics engines with the Original Far Cry which brought real time lighting and photo realism graphics before Half Life 2 and Doom 3 and was the first to bring Dynamic Super Realism with its Cry Engine 2 Crysis technology- now they are going backwards...wtf...

Don't worry, just like CryEngine 2, CryEngine 3 is scaleable. So consoles will probably have medium quality textures and polygons with no filters. High end PC gamers will still have the option to choose Ultra High 8x AA, 16xAF. Just be thankful Crysis 2 isn't coming to the Wii. I would like to see a more powerful Wii thought, that would be a kick-ass gaming experience. I guess we just have to wait.

Hard core PC gamers hate the fact crytec is developing for consols because consols are about 6 years behind in graphics so crysis 2 will only look as good on PC as it's weakest link being the 120$ poor noob 360 which is uber gay cause I put 2000$ into my pc and I need another awsome game from crytech that it deserves

You know all the hype, and when the game is release on the pc, you won't need a super rig to play it on. I play crysis and warhead on pci cards just fine and i am talking about a 2400 or 8400gs at that. lol

Well from what i could make of it they looked exactly the same except the ps3 looked like it had the contrast turned up a bit higher and a lower frame rate on a few occasions.

im strictly a pc gamer but on the topic of xbox 360 vs ps3 i have to say ps3 has the upper hand look at 1:16 onwards you can see the xbox 360 is having problems with shadows (as well as the falling tree part) there are lots of shadows jumping up in places and if you look accros to the mountain no trees are rendered there but on the ps3 side its shadows arent glitched and if you look accros to the mountain some small trees are being rendered it has a logner view distance

I think everyone knows that a PC is waaay more powerful, in fact a 360 aint powerful at all.

But it doesnt have to be, when a game is developed for a specific system like the ps3 or 360 it still looks great since they (games) are generally pretty well optimized.

One example is GTA4, looks and runs good on consoles, but plays like shit on PC =)

Definitely not a console. Those are mainstream gaming machines pre built for a low price, PCs are expensive because they can outdo consoles. Consoles play at resolutions of 1280x720 while PCs can play up to 2560x1600

Whats with the Xbox360 and PS3 logos at the bottom al the time, Neither the 360 or the PS3 has enough grunt to run Cryenggine 2, now how are they gonna hande cryengine 3. This is probably DX11 @ work, so if neither of these 'next gen' consoles can handle a 2-year old game, how are they gona handle something which is alot more sophisticated?

BTW I own a 360, and it's great, at least it was until I got my PC(HD3870 OC'd, C2Q Q9300, 2GB RAM) and thats old stuff but it outperforms both the 360&PS3

I've played games in DX 10.1, assassins creed(yes, it does support it unofficially), TC HAWX etc. It looks great and performs very well but it doesnt look like this. DX 10.1 is nothing like DX11. It looks like regular DX10, but it performs better. I think DX10.1 is like 'The DX10 we've always wanted'. BTW can anyone tell me if Battlefield Bad Company 1 or 2 is coming out on PC?

The main reason why Crysis wouldn't run on the consoles is because of it's highly advanced textures alongside the other effects the cryengine 2 was capable of if you had a good enough PC.

Did Crysis take the gaming to a new level ? No, it took the graphics to a new level NOT the gameplay as many hyped it to, and terefore many people got disappointed when it came out.

Will CryEngine3 take the console gaming to a new level? Hell no, it'll make the graphics better for sure, but taking the gameplay to a new level needs to be done by pixies and santa.

So don't expect the world to change just because graphics gets enhanced.
