  • Its fools like this who drive this way on residential streets that fuck it up for the rest.

  • does anyone know where i can find the lack number on the vw beetle? thanks

  • Eh I still enjoy my 1968's absurd aussie made vw aircraft engine the insane previous owner threw into it.

  • Hey, hope you dont mind me asking but how much should i look at putting in doing this swap?

  • love ur bug

  • I am really interested in this type of conversion. Do you have a write up or any pics about the swap? My main question is where/how you mounted the radiator. Your description says its mounted in the rear but I didnt see it in the video. Thanks.

  • Looks great man, had my 56 since I was a pup. Going with the Suby after messing with T1 and T4 combos and throwing good money after bad. More horsepower, less money, more reliability with a Suby...some will never get it. Haters gon' hate, build what brings a smile to your face

  • sounds like a wrx :D

  • youtube.com/watch?v=bJkpHo6BF9E&feature=related

  • @tjsst162 lol

  • do you have a neighbor named brenda??

looks like my exgirlfriends neighborhood lol

  • Is it awd??

  • Subaru Engine!

  • I might as well haul my bug to the scrapyard, I just don't have the brains or money to build something like this.....

  • @tjsst162 aww is your widdle subaru falling behind haha you do understand the only reason subaru even has a boxer/horizontally opposed engine is because of vw right? it was invented by mr. benz himself and used starting in 1938 in vw's, dr. porsche later used the vw engine to make his first sports car.

  • thats kool but keep them air kooled man

  • @skimboarding7 i had a stock 66 didnt have fun driving it! no offense! building a big hp aircooled is not as reliable as the modern ej20t, i like the ej20t motor. plus u cant beat having an a/c!

  • @turbobugga who needs AC lol i just pull out the vent wings and i put a 1915cc dule empis wich im taking out soon when i can get 44 weebers but i drive my car about 45 miles a day and she ben on trips to taho and to san fran wich is about a 2hr drive if you build it rite and take care of it it will last 4 ever but i sure do like your paint

  • @skimboarding7 build it right! sure! theres a guy here hear in vegas i wont say his name selling an ovall that he invested thousands of dollars in it! build a 2332 motor and this guy knows this motor pretty well probably build alot of them himself. but the 2332 motor he build still leak and still needs constant adjustment still run crappy u know why old technology that is good but cant compare it to hte newer designed engine! aircooled last forever LOL yea drive it like an old lady!

  • @turbobugga kinda late but the vw engine is not ment to be that large of course of he were to make a stock engine it would indeed last longer. 2.3 l engine uses what 94 barrels, in terms of cooling there isnt enough space for the fins to cool off. ideally even if he used a stock fan and a external radiator the engine still become more inefficient after 2.0l. just my thought

  • @skimboarding7 i just got back from san fransico im from sacramento so thats about 2hr drive my OLD Tec Engin IF you know what ur doing will last forever and not to metion 14sec 1/4 in a daly driver 1915cc low compersion but not all guys can make a car work with out having a bank acount to go to the engin

  • @turbobugga windows are all the a/c anyone ever needs

  • hey i was wondering what kind of tranny did you use? also how did you fit the air conditioning in your bug? i have one too and i want to do the samething just need help on getting started

  • @tjsst162 lmao! what are u ej20 admirer that cant convert one so you trash talk the ones that actually got it working! maybe ur the fag coz u cant get urs to start :P

  • stop signs mean stop.....not spin tires on pavement

  • @2112andy

thank you for reminding me! Im sorry i already payed my ticket for that :) I was just so excited I forgot to stop! That was the actual first time i ran the bug after the conversion! TY for ur advice!

  • @turbobugga

yeah.......i would of done the same thing. sweet bug.

  • @cpollock94 2.0 DOCH.

  • love the beetle . just got a 64 planning on doing a wrx swap with ac. just want to no if you can send me some pics of some stuff that you did like rad placement and ac componants. thanks

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

  • nice car i really like the sound of a subaru i have a 56 oval rag what kind of body mods were made to fit that motor any cutting to car or only rear apron

  • this car was already butchered in the engine compartment area when i bought it! for ur 56 i would keep it stock buy another newer bug before hacking ur oval! or u can go to the rotary conversion for better engine placement, might get away without hacking engine compartment area!

  • Awesome! Where in the rear did you put the radiator? Can you tell me more about the radiator? And the wiring for the ecu? I have been wanting to do this to my 79SB

  • rADIATOR BEHIND THE BACK SEAT! removed the laguage compartment area. for the wiring contact outfront motorsport in buena park, ca. they have alot of info on this conversion except they specialty is dune buggies!

  • great work tbugga. beautiful car man. nice body work too. the rims suit it as well. enjoy !

  • I really love your car man. I've seen a lot of people putting subaru engines into bugs... about how much do you think it costs to upgrade a classic bug into this? I know you can't just put an engine in it, you need other parts to support the power. Estimated project cost?

  • itll be over 9,000 im sure

  • $1500 transmission

    $900 for engine

    $450 for adapter

    $1500 for wiring and ecu

    $300 for hoses

    $500 custom radiator

$1000000 for the attention u get on the road :P

  • Really thats it? Thats not too bad... Where are you buying your parts from lol

  • thats crazy man! all you need is a racing clutch and a HD pressure plate and man that would be a beast! the power weight ratio must be like 500hp per ton or something man. how much that bug weight like 1400lbs or something man. all i know thats some good shit man i gotta give it to ya.

  • no its 500 hp per 2.4 ton...

  • wow...wat a clean mod...i hav a 66 beetle...and planning to get another...to mod it jz like urs...where did u mount the intercooler??

  • what trans-axel did you use?

  • pro street bug swingaxle, freeway flyer, HD side cover, HD axles!

  • how did you setup the a/c ?

  • send me ur email address. ill email you pix! where u located?

  • Clean bug. Where in the rear did you mount the radiator and how does it get fresh air?

  • the area behind the seat, or the laguage compartment use to be. Two airscoops attached on the torsion housing brings more air in while driving. Radiator have two 1994 legacy electric fan from the junkyard...$30 upgrade. LOL...

  • well if u can put it in there do it coz the weight and power output from this little engine is great. and having it flat even lower the center of gravity for better handling. im thinking of putting ej20tt on my mr2, need to do research.

  • hey we will keep in touch i will try to call you on friday to get together. ttyl thanx

  • my car doesn't pass as it is so i pay someone off. cool i will

  • so greencard did you like that test drive. tell ur dad he can call me tue and wed to see it!

  • awesome bug!!!

  • ty for the kind words. I got ur email about doing this in ur 1979 Superbeetle, smog going to be a problem. 1968 and above i believe needs smog check here in Nevada. email me your Phone, ill talk to you about what u can do!

  • widest on it is 31 inches. I am just wondering what car u putting it on?,,,,,,, Do u see my MR2? Thats my next one, I might be puting a V6 engine on it, need to do research on wiring harnesss. But so far 20 Valve blacktop seems to be the best economical solution. im still undecided what to do with the mr2, no i take that back im still lacking funding!!!LOL. and about the blast thing u said....YESSSSSSSS this car drives pretty quick.

  • yep, subaru is good bang for buck..........what gearbox mods you done :)........how about some in car footage

  • tranny is a 388 ring and pinion, freeway flier with .89 welded 3rd and 4th gear, super diff and HD side covers and bugpack HD axles. Used Kenedy adapter and KEP stage 1 clutch.
