It is available on Elvis in Hollywood, Elvis: Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits, 2nd to None, Viva Las Vegas/Roustabout soundtrack compilation, FTD Viva Las Vegas CD, Elvis at the Movies, and Command Performances-The Essential Masters II.
Written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman for Elviss 1964 film Viva Las Vegas. Elvis recorded in July 1963 at Radio Recorders. Elvis sang it three times in the movies, once with Ann Margret. It spent 7 weeks on Billboards Hot 100 chart, peaking at #29 and sold over one million copies. It was the A-side to Whatd I say.
This is such a very unique, fun and tremendous song. This song was so very overlooked and underrated during Elvis' lifetime. Now, the song is known as an Elvis classic worldwide. It's the greatest song that's ever been written about Las Vegas, in my opinion. "Viva Las Vegas" is my 3rd most favorite Elvis movie. Ann-Margret and King Elvis had such perfect on screen chemistry together and I love this movie so very much. This video was absolutely perfect in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
Long live the King
