  • This is actually a US bootleg. Came outta the Buffalo, NY area. I unfortunately was the victim of a scam, in the late 80's when I purchased about 25 "rare" acetates for a huge sum of money, and later found out that these clean, vinyl typewritten crappy bootlegs were all homemade rip-off's made on a commercial record lathe. I was out 15 grand, and I have mass produced shitty vinyl bootlegs. Real acetates are NEVER vinyl, but metal pressings. Classic song. Deserves to be bootlegged!

  • @rockabillydj Sorry you were scammed. Was this one title one of them? The original was, as you probably know, also booted on red Meteor in the 1970s, selling at $3 or £1.50 depending on where you were. As you rightly say, classic song. Probably the best rockabilly release on the label, along with 'Tongue Tied Jill' by Charlie Feathers.

Yeah...That was a long time ago, but I still hold a HUGE grudge. I had the FBI involved, but they could never pin the tail on the donkey, but I found out the person who was producing them. Interested in several bootlegs for 600.00 a piece? LOL!

I have had the Junior Thompson original twice- both times I found them in junk stores, mixed in with Carpenters & Bobby Sherman records! Great song- It is one of my favorite Rockabilly songs of all time.

  • this IS a european boot RE

    cheers //L.S.M.

  • acetate or not a most excellent tune..would one say.

  • Generally speaking, I'm not a rockabilly fan. However, this is good. There are a few possibilities here... This could be a legit acetate made by the producer of the record. It could also be a back up copy someone made for a friend or for themselves so they didn't have to play the original. Regardless of it's origin, this acetate would probably command a nice sum if sold.

  • I suspect it's a back up copy made by a European collector in the mid sixties from the time when rockabilly began to become collectable (at least in Europe which is where I found it, though it was among mixed European and American releases).
