Our world is controlled by capitalism, we've had several chances to developed alternive energy sources, but the corporations have always halted it. Our global economy is failing, religious fanatics goes around killing people and we are slowly poisoning our own world.
And to colonize space we need new energy sources to be able to travel the long distances.
@ShadeIsaac Mine H3 on the moon to be used as fuel to power nuclear fusion reactors. Do that until we can figure out a way to produce mass amounts of anti-matter in a cheap manner and then we'll be set for space exploration. (If we had anti-matter in the amount of a small coin, that would be enough power to send the space shuttle into orbit.)
@Leifthrasir How about the risk's of using anti-matter? But most important; will the governments and corporation going to invest in mining the moon and the use of anti-matter? I think not. And then our global economy is very instable.
@ShadeIsaac Several governments are already investing in mining He-3 from the moon. China especially. It is still in the planning stages, but it will happen. As for risk of using antimatter? Well the risks right now are all theoretical, as so far we have been unable to hold no more than a handfull of anti-hydrgen atoms no longer than 16 mins. Reasearch on antimatter is still brand new. But the potenial is almost limitless.
@Leifthrasir Not limitless at all, the manufacture of antimatter is generally only possible from collider experiments which are both expensive and only produce tiny amounts of antimatter. The old adage of you don't get something for nothing is very true here. Fortunately really as antimatter has a habit of destroying stuff rather well, if it was easy to create we'd all have blown up by now.
This game is very truthful when it comes to our future. Yes their will be "augs" (their already able to make a blind man see and a deaf woman hear). It will only be a matter of time before they start to enhance soldiers and police to make them unstoppable (in order to crush any rebellions) and yes their are men working behind the scenes maybe not "Illuminati" but their are people who don't what you to know what they know
I myself think one step further, that global corporations will eventually have all the power. Like Syndicate for example. This doesn't need to be a bad thing, but it will become a close reality now that the global economic is going down.
@ShadeIsaac jeez... pessimistic and self hating much? For me this music represents the most pivotal point in our history. This point in time 1900-2200s will probably be the defining age of humanity, we will either
A)Screw ourselves over and a new dark age begins (and with no more fossil fuels will probably NEVER get back on to our current tech level) Thus dooming us forever.
B)A natural disaster will screw us over.
or
C.We start colonizing space, and become the god's we have striven to be.
@DwightKoh93 Thats Deus Ex. There is no "Make everything better forever" ending. Its about trying to do what you think is best. Whats right. picking the lesser of evils.
"For the first time in history, we have a chance to steal fire from the gods.
To turn away from it now, to stop pursuing a future in which technology and biology combined -- leading to the promise of a singularity -- would mean to deny the very essence of who we are.
No doubt the road to get there will be bumpy -- hurting some people along the way -- but won't achieving the dream, will be worth it?
We can become the gods, we've always been striving to be.
"Well, I pushed a button. Was it the right button? Did I do the right thing? What the hell did I just fight to get here? It doesn't matter. What happens afterwards, what humanity will do after this event, what Eidos Montreal does with this franchise after this event...that will decide the fate of humanity..."
@SupaKillah666: The sad truth is that bionic implants are not necessary to turn people into machines. Everything what it needs is, for example, a constant input of media to manipulate thoughts, emotions and thus behaviours to turn human beeings into soulless robots.
By beeing attentive and thinking critically of what you see and hear you will get an idea of what I mean.

This game is special to me because of Adam. I am called Adam too. So whenever a npc tells me You are a hero Adam. You are a bastard Adam. You failed Adam. You won Adam. You rescued the hostages Adam! THE HOSTAGES DIED because of YOU Adam! It felt that the game is talking to me. Epic.
I've beaten this game twice already, and seen multiple endings, but this music… it still gives me chills… and hope. Hope that in the future, we might show power and restraint, justice and compassion. Hope, that no matter what happens, no matter how much we change, how much our bodies change… we can remain… human.
@RavagerZero You are not alone, we all can no we all Must do this together if we are to survive with our humanity in place even if it means combining machine and flesh with each other... even in death, we will be human.
I beat Human Revolution twice already but listening to this, giving all my attention to the games amazing music, makes me want to do it all over again.
if you think that this music is good just try to imagine that everything in this game is on par with it. just amazing. if there would be oscars given in the game category, dx:hr would score in screenplay, best game, best music score, best costumes (and scenography.. the attention to detail in this game and design of costumes is just unbelievable)...

This music makes me feel if we are just a doomed species, which climbs the next step for our self destructional evolution.
Are we really that great? Are we any diffrent from animals? Or are we just parasites, trying to suck on the last piece of power we can get?
ShadeIsaac 3 months ago
@ShadeIsaac It sets REALLY well with Jensen's narration in the foreground as well.

@Jonijonh Duh. Never better than the narrator.
I read alot of dystopian stuff and watch the news. So there are similaritys. And I just mispelled.
ShadeIsaac 3 months ago
@ShadeIsaac I never said it was better than the narrator :P (I just love Jensen's voice)
This game's story is so good because you can really see the resemblance with our own problems nowadays. Who knows... Maybe this IS our future.

Oldfags orgasming violently after every reference to DE1 and DE2, including music, characters, events, etc.
This written by someone who basically grew up through the Deus Ex series. Months of play time and feedback included.
