what are u talking about. 1st of all. Jason does write his own songs, but in case u havent noticed, contestants are NOT allowed to perform their own songs. 2nd. No originality? are u mad? hes the only kid on this show with any authenticity, thats exactly why he didnt fit in. The rest r all cheesy "polished" pop wannabees. Have u seen some of his earlier performances? he's amazing and he knows how to genuinely deliver a song. Hes a talented singer/songwritter and the most humble guy on the show

Yeah he got the boot AFTER he made it to 4th place out of over 100 thousand people that auditioned. There could only be one person standing in the end, so in the process, talented people will get kicked off. He left the show with a massive fan base that will make him a star. Chris Daughtry got the boot the same week jason did during season 5 and now hes out selling the winner. Jason will do just fine don't worry your head about it

as far as the quality of his voice. He may not have a "belty" voice like the other contestants. But theres a distinctive quality to it. The kind of voice that u hear on the radio & go "thats jason castro" even after only hearing one note. The rest are so polsihed & professionally trained that they end up sounding exactly like eachother. He has alot more range than people think. Its not always about who has the biggest voice but more of what u do with it & how u convey emotion & jason does that
