i think the nose of the aircraft obscured the right air intake -asymetrical thrust- flat spin, thats what f-14s are known for

I had the same first crash on takeoff like he did with my A 10 warthog. But i wasnt as lucky i crashed on to the hard desert ground not grass. And a note to everyone. DO NOT BUY FROM BANANA HOBBY. THEY ARE GARBAGE.

Fun vid. A couple of quick observations, though. First off, that runway was too rough and rocky for a decent takeoff or landing. I would have looked for someplace else to fly the plane. Secondly, it sounded like it was too windy a day to be flying the plane. Other than that, you guys did a good job with everything. Thanks for the video. :)

I've had one F-14 Tomcats for about a year, and it does have it own flying characteristics when the wings are swept back. Turns are wider and the plane acts like it is nose heavy. I was working with Tony of Nitroplanes and I came up with a fix and that is to add 1/8 oz weight near the wing tips, as the wings sweep back the CG will also change. The plane needs a bit more power. Nice video, I'm glad you guys had fun trying to fly it.

Altitude? Too slow and too banked in the turn = tip stall regardless of alt..

Both crashes were the same issue... stalled and dropped the right wing.

Looked repairable and its issues are curable.

My bet is, like most ArtTec EDF models, it needs more cheater hole inlet area for the fan.

A couple of turns on the aileron clevices to push both ailerons up will effectively give washout to help prevent that nasty stall.

Best help would have been gaining familiarity with stall at altitude before landing attempt. But they ran too much power out testing before flight.

@TheRattleSnake3145 nope.. it comes with a 3s, and wont fit a 4.. thats why i bumped it to a high output batt (secretly.. yes it should be, but it wasnt designed for it - the weight of the batt is too far forward)

wind and a dead battery don't mesh well. I've learned not to maiden a plane on windy days, i've lost 2 that way. sorry about your plane but, now you have parts for a scratch build.

Hey Medic the problem was not so much the pilot, as it was the plane. Nitro planes makes the WORST products. Check out earthling1984 reviews of there products. The ONLY fan jet on the market worth the money is the Parkzone HABU. Parkzone/ E-flight, are like the Axial of rc aircraft. Good thing you didn't hurt that MAXAMPS lipo you put in the airplane. That was like having an AMG motor in a Yugo.

mine now thanks medic, I'll power it up a little differently, awesome video by the way, maybe 2 batteries and one hulk speed controller but still lighter than the 2 speed controllers, and cone the end exhaust ports to force more air through more efficiently

@foerester Must use 1 esc per motor...  Brushless don't play well trying 2 motors on one esc.

Look at air inlet before outlet. ArtTec tends to get the outlet right and not have enough inlet.
