Love Erykah and this song and 'certainly' are my all-time Erykah favourites, would love to hear you do a rendition of it. You have a good voice, good look and you can tell that you're passionate about singing. Be aware though that unlike yester-year, the music industry is not a way to carve out a vocation. Most musicians are flat broke and it's only the ones that make it to the VERY top that can survive exclusively from the industry. Keep singing but keep your vocational options open too!
