I am an infantry officer in the Marine Corps and a former member of the Aggressor Platoon (NGC Class of 03). There is a big difference in the Marines and the Army but I learned a lot in my time at NCGSU and especially in the Aggressor Platoon. This video is just a demonstration of the type of tactics learned in the training. It has not changed since I did this exact thing 10 years ago. It is ALL out of the FM 7-8 Ranger Handbook and it the basics of a raid. Aggressors are a good foundation.
For all the marines out there in the world, and some army guys that don't know much about this video. The people in it are college ROTC students, but don't underestimate them. a number in the video are combat vets. Second this is a recruiting video to say the least. And the video was made after about 2 weeks of limited training. And Ranger cadre said we were pretty good for what we had. And we noticed the issue with the SAW after the fact.
@Crunnkjuice9777 Just as there are different career routs in the army to take, there are also different routs in the corps to take. The amount of training one would need would depend upon the mos of that individual. A ranger requiring 10x the amount of training as a marine is a obviously a biased statement that makes a comparison between a specific type of army soldier to a general marine. A basic marine has more training than a basic soldier, then it varies beyond that.
Great action and music. Secured the objective, conducted POW searches, marked searched enemy and got off the objective. Well done. Awesome training area. We would have had to break the ice to do the water training.
