For JuJu and all neglected, abused, abandoned Akitas!

Thanks Kathy for posting this. I've has Akitas 26 years and once you fall under their spell you're hooked for life. I must tell you however, some shelters do not let you adopt them. They send them to Akita rescue organizations to sell them for big $ so everyone gets a cut. So, instead of rescuing after my last one passed (age 14) I bought a puppy. Shame on the rescue organizations AND the shelters as I am an experienced, caring owner. Just a thought for all who view this. Thanks again!

I saved an Akita 9 years ago and she is the best friend in my world. Still with me and these dogs are so loyal and loving. This Akita waits everyday for me to come home and greet me, I'd be lost without her. Save an Akita, you won't be disappointed!!!

I rescued both of my boys, Zeta and Theta, from the animal shelter in Las Cruces, NM, where I work. They're Mastiff/Akita as best as I can tell, and they're the loves of my life! They came in a year apart, they're identical, and I'm sure they're brothers. Given their condition and behavior, it's clear neither of them was treated well. Theta was obviously beaten. Seeing images like these makes me want to subject these horrible owners to the same abuse they've inflicted on these wonderful dogs!

Imagine my supprise to find Kuma(photo 2 and one other) in this video. I think he was around 3 then. My wife and I adopted him about 2 1/2 years ago. We don't know his age exactly(around 7). He now wheighs 140 pounds and has a permanent loving home..

Agree SlyDog713 - ALL cats and dog deserve love and a good home. This government stinks - they refuse to close puppy mils and we need mandatory spay and neutering till all the shelters are empty. They don't care about killing in the shelters. they make money off running them. We need an uprising.

Not JUST Akitas ya know! EVERY ANIMAL shouldn't be abandoned, neglected and abused! I love EVERY dog! We rescued my dog from the pound. They got him from under an abandoned Harley Motorcycle. So, they named him Harley. Except, the name wasn't working with him so we chose Charlie. It was WAY easier to handle him with that name. He just wouldn't come or anything. So, I'm glad you dedicated this video to dogs.

wow, it was an awesome vid. makes me want to hurt those that hurt any animal. I have a husky/akita, My sweet Samson and a white german shep. Delilah, both are pound rescues, and both are nuts, sweet, silly and great dogs. I have to move move soon because we lost our home, but if they don't take my babies... they don't take me and hubby either. to my five babies, Samson, Delilah, Max,Jazz, and Callasandra..MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU!

Thank you for making this video even though it was extremely hard to watch. To all the people who think it would be "soooo cute" to have a puppy under the xmas tree and not know what it takes to raise, love and care for a dog buy a stuffed animal. Akita's are NOT for first time dog owners. They are probably one of the most kind, affectionate, loyal dogs but they require tons of WORK. To me it's worth it.

That vid made me cry. I have an Akita that I adopted 5 years ago from the Bozeman shelter. He had been abused and had so many negative characteristics. He was a huge handful, but through lots of time and great patients. He is my best friend and the best dog. He also taught me alot about myself. So sad how the breed of this dog is so wrongly spoken of. I am so greatful for people like you that put things out in the world like this. Thank you, now Hunter and I must go for a walk.
