  • Where can I get the blues driver? how much is it? Love it man, grat playing!!!

  • Hey man

I really dig ur style. You sure know your way around a fretboard.

I'm a Strat man myself, and I'm lookin for a sound kinda like this.

I just ordered the BD from GC, and I'm looking forward to using it. I'm also getting the TS-9 and Blues Tubes..Which one is your favorite between the BD and the Blues Tubes??

  • Hey man, you're inspiring! I ripped off like copious riffs in this video. I love the you play with this flow and above all: with soul.

Post moar videos just jamming please. You're an inspiration!

  • Great Demo Dude~ I like the Ts 808 but the Blues Driver sounded better in your demo!

    Cheers~

  • Nice demo man!! Thanks for posting and keep on jamming :)

  • nice chops dude

  • @OakPark11MileRd I'll tell you what though. Someday sit down with one of these newer Super Champ XD amps. I picked one up about six months ago, and the very first two voice settings on the distorted channel is the best mimic of tweed Bassman you will ever hear (and at any volume!) In fact, it sounds more like the old Bassmans than the reissue 59 Bassmans.

  • @OakPark11MileRd Nah; a Tele and an old tweed Bassman. Now you're set.

  • when this baby hits 88 miles per hour........your gonna see some serious shit!

  • how to make SRV sound out of a BD-2? any suggestion? thanks!

  • Hi

Thanks for the explanations..I'm looking for a blus ditortion to have a sound like "Heartattack and vine" di Tom Waits.

How can I do? Can you suggest some good distortion?

    Thanks

  • I'm into playing cream and hendrix and clapton and SRV and all that good blues stuff. But I also play some other stuff like Deep Purple and Zeppelin sometimes. Which pedal is best? I want really nice blues tones that has some sort of versitility. And I'm 15 so I'm not exactly loaded with cash hahahah so I won't spend a ridiculous amount of money.

  • The bd-2 changed my life.I had been searching for a certain sound and it had been staring me in the face for so long. The boss bd-2 will maintain the integrity of your tone but still add plenty of crunch and growl.Half the price of so called 'boutique' od pedals and worth it's weight in gold

  • nice pride and joy cover i appreciated that

  • blues tubes all the way for that dirty......blues driver for that bb king type shit.....tubescreamer POS......haha Has anyone heard of the Tubulator pedal......very versatile.....

  • Can this amp get louder than a drum kit?

  • thanks dude i just got a tube screamer off ebay it should be here today now i have an idea of the tone i will be getting

  • BD-2 is more of a transparent overdrive IMO TS9 is more of a pedal with a sound of its own. BD-2 lets more of the amp tone shine thru but that might just be me. They both sound great tho

  • Very nice demo !!! I have listened to a lot of BD-2 and B.Breaker demos, and your equipment sounds a lot better than others. I believe your guitar and amp sound realy cool on it´s own, and make any pedal sound brilliant.

  • ùhm_ÄñY_gÛÿs_wÀnt_tø_chÂt_wíth_mÉ

  • BYOC all the way, I built my own tubescreamer with the byoc pcb, adding my own mods etc. they sound so good, I also have boss blues driver, I never use it :)

  • this fella is funny .....in a good way .

  • where did you get the blues tubes pedal?

  • Green one is like an angry face lol

  • man great demo iam thinking of the blues driver and i also have alot of strats and a deville so you kinda did my work for me thanks

  • I need a good Jimi tone.

  • @MrIndieguitar the elite tone Fillmore thunder is a fuzz octave unit that will scare people with a real band of gypsies sound.

  • very nice sound!!!!!!

could you tell me how is setting the deville?

  • Hey!Really nice review!Would you recommend the Blues Driver as a first pedal or one of the others?

  • How'd you get the nice green finish? It looks too good to be paint...?

  • what a wonderful sound!!!!!!!!! whitch are the equalization setting of the amp?

  • what sounds best for a john mayer tone?

  • @brsurferbrasil did you ever find out? i know he uses the ibanez ts808 and the blues driver(keeley mod) sooo...

  • @PLUMBdogg your playing makes these pedals sound great im a huge zeppelin fan i been trying to get that since i been loving you tone as well as the i cant quit you baby (live) tone which one of these would get me close or what would you recommend?

  • @MrWildboy214 Get a Tele, an old Tweed Champ or Valco and the Blues Tubes.

  • @MrWildboy214 hi did you find the equipment for the songs u mentioned? been after the same sound myself,

  • B.Y.O.C TS-808 sounds really good "for that Stevie shit"

  • Was wondering how the blues driver sounded, since i have the same amp. What version tube screamer is it?

  • @daveofcincinnati BYOC "808" version.

  • If you turn up the gain on it, it will do some wild shit!

  • very nice playin

  • Love your playin man. Great demo.

  • lol the tube screamer looks like an angry person, it was probably anoyed at how the other pedals sounded as good as it

  • @PLUMBdogg Hi can you tell me amp settings? I've bought the same. Thanks

  • @Ciaopo90 all at noon on clean channel. reverb about 2.

  • @PLUMBdogg thanks

  • I have a keeley BD-2, keeley overdrive, and a bk butler tube driver. I noticed the new keeley overdrive is as transparent as the bd-2 in picking dynamics etc... blah blah blah... more tone control. But seriously, the tube driver is the best thing I've heard personally, and I think out of these three, the BD-2 wins.

  • @xGrinder07x no, it's main purpose is to push the amp into tube overdrive. When I think distortion pedal, I think heavy, tight focused tones like early Metallica or something.

  • Awesome playing, awesome review

  • cool

  • "If you turn the gain up, it'll do some weird shit"

  • @clay2606 wild shit

  • nice playing, nearly set ur guitar on fire man! lol they all sound great, i prefer the blues driver for bluesy playing, nd tube screamer for extra tube saturation...ROCK ON!!!

  • i head was moving with ur guitar licks all the way man! nice tone, nice licks nice feeling! respect

  • Nice chops. Sounds like SRV.

  • NICE PLAYING DUDE!!!!!

  • Dude! You sust sound like him! Long Live Stevie!

  • Hey man, that produces incredible sound this pedal blues tubes! I am impressed with the quality of the drive. Where or how can I get this pedal? Thanks.

  • nice vid

  • Nice!

  • its nice to hear a demo on youtube with someone who can actually play. nice vibrato man, similar to mine, ha ha!! cool video though man, I've been a Blues Driver user for the last 15 years, love that pedal. I recently bought a Vox AC30 and am curious if the Tubescreamer might sound better/worse/different to the Blues Driver. cheers for the video

  • that green pedal is making weird faces at me

  • that green pedal is AAANGRY!

  • I have an old discontinued Boss Power Driver 2 that was meant to mimic a "stack" sound through a single speaker cabinet/combo. Not quite, but it adds a real nice low growl and punch when It's in line with my TS9, a lot like your Blues Tubes. It puts back the bottom that the TS9 strips out, and has a slight metallic, "clunking copper pipes" tone that I've only heard on a Korg Toneworks box.

  • Blues tubes were definately the best in my opinion

  • Not a lot of tonal differences but I will say the Boss blues driver has a more compressed and focused tone. Great review!

  • They all have a similar tone but for the "true blue's tone" I think they sounded best in order:1st Blues Tubes,2nd Blues Driver and last the tube screamer.Just my opinion and I'm sure some agree and most don't but that's what makes guitarists a differant breed all together.

  • a lot of people rag on the bad monkey, and a lot of people absolutely love it too. a tube screamer clone with added low/high controls. it's definitely my favourite tube killer still

  • Who makes the Blues Tubes pedal?

  • @Kataanmonster I did from a kit I got from General Guitar Gadgets dot com.

  • @PLUMBdogg Can't find it in the site, pls tell me the part number

  • @PMiRInspection MBB-1 replica, marshall blues breaker.

  • @PLUMBdogg Is that a Keeley modded blues driver? I ask because of the bright ass blue spotlight.

  • @Colliernator1000 No, it's a h20 Monte Allums mod.

  • the tube screamers angry

  • Nice demo, and I appreciate your humility on not practicing the SRV thing, but you

can play! You've got great chops, and aside from the informative demo, I just enjoyed listening to you play. I can't think of a better compliment to a fellow musician.

  • @BluesRocker52 Thanks a ton dude!

  • @PLUMBdogg Hello! I've tried this one (212) and it's clean tone just sounded like heaven.A very deep and pure sound.A perfect clean tone(i use pedal for other effects). But there is also a 410 version out.Haven't tried it yet, but wondered if the 410 amp sounds better as the 212 amp, regarding the deep and full clean tone. I'm playing a lot of styles, especially progressive, psychedelic, pop, and some melodious metal. No funk, nor blues. Which of those two amps do you recommend me? Thank you :)

  • @Kirkrulez 212.

  • Your sound is f*cking great! What amp are you using?

  • nice demo, love the variety of blues tones

  • "i don't practice stevie that much" lol

  • Comment removed

  • hey man i just bought a fender de ville! what are you amp settings cause your tone is awesome just into the amp?!

  • Is the right one a normal General Guitar Gadgets BB-1 ? Or did you mod anything, cause that sounds really wicked, that bassy sound is just awesome

I will get one of those i think, are they hard to get?

  • hey cool sound ,, just got one of these amps.. whats your settings???

    many thanks

  • Comment removed

  • You're an awesome player. HOw lang have u been playin?

  • the pedal on the left looks pretty angry

  • Nice playing!

  • i love the sound of that blues tubes, any idea where i can get one ?

  • how you like that hot rod?

  • now i want to listen to stevie ray vaughan

  • same sh*t, crank your amp all the way up natural distortion is best! great playing!!!!

  • You're a real good player man.

  • Blues Tubes is made by who? It sounds mighty tasty.

  • @BakerMUSIC313 General Guitar Gadgets... Its a Do It Yourself kit.... it will be listed under the Bluesbreaker kit

  • dude. great demo. big help! just got a blues driver but looking to get a tubescreamer next. great playing!

  • "wild shit" lol

  • the tube screamer looks like an angry face :O

  • You play some impressive guitar, sir. Even more impressive if you *were* drunk (below comment)

  • blues driver the best

  • blues tube

  • what are the settings on the amp?

  • BEAUTIFUL SET!!!

  • Green one is mad!

  • the strat sounds killer with those pedals. Gotta get me some of those

  • damn that amp and strat sound fine!

  • To be honest, the Deville's "self" overdrive sounds really really nice.

But if I had to choose, I liked the Blues Tubes the best.

  • @EranBee The Hot Rod series need some quality tubes to get ANYTHING out of the other channels.

The Drive Channel takes out so much of your tone, it's ridiculous.

I use my Hot Rod as a one channel amp.

  • you really only fiddled with the blues driver to show different sounds which doesn't really make it a fair comparison. good demo otherwise

  • did u get that blues tubes off the ggg site?

  • out of all of these pedals which do you like the best?

  • I think they really all sound the same?

  • Yeah they do. It's more of a dynamic thing. Touch sensitivity and response plus the overall frequency associated with each ones o.d. Amp is the most important thing to me, once you're happy with that you've won 70 percent of the battle.

  • @PLUMBdogg they probably all sound the same because youtube compresses the sound of video massively.

  • @posiedonpowertrio i do not think they sound alike at all...blues tubes murders!

  • Did you build a pedal?

  • @PLUMBdogg which pedal you builded? Is it hard and how much it cost?

  • I like you comment "i dont practice Stevie that much" nice demo I love the tube screamer yeah!!!

  • this makes me want to play blues. I like the way the tube screamer makes a face

  • where you get the blues tubes pedal? ve never seen it before. sounds sweet

  • Its from general guitar gadgets. Its a kit

  • are u drunk?

  • probably.

  • @PLUMBdogg You play some impressive guitar, sir, especially if you _were_ drunk at the time ;)

  • @PLUMBdogg PS, what is the song you're playing around 6:30ish? I LOVE it!

  • @PLUMBdogg Awesome! I'm subscribing to you solely on the "probably" drunk comment reply. That's classic gold right there!

  • @PLUMBdogg bahahhahhahahahha...............

  • @PLUMBdogg Thats the blues for ya;)

  • @PLUMBdogg Great response brother...still laughing, nice playing though seriously keep it up!

  • @PLUMBdogg What is that riff at 1:45?

  • @ruffles272 helllzzzz yeahhh niggaa

  • I pissed my pants when I heard that Blues tubes pedal! I want that thing!!!

  • "for that stevie shit" haha love it

  • you have some tasty licks my friend

  • if I want to have a creamy blues tone, which one of these is the best? I don't need the gain, booster and the likes, I just need the tone, bluesy tone... can you help me with that? thanks =)

  • I think the Blues tubes.

  • The riff at 3:30 is just killer! Is that from a song or are you just riffing?

  • aaaaggggh where are me shades, the H2O is firing up. Great sounds though, and cool playing.

  • I have the same amp, it kicks ass doesn't it

  • what amp are we talking about?

  • Fender Hot Rod Deville 212

  • Tube screamer sounds horrible!

  • Very good work man. I was searching some driver to buy and it's helped a lot. And I agree with you, the Blues Tube sounds the best of them!!

    Keep on like that!!

  • Very good video sir. You make all of them sound good. Keep up the good work.

  • if i bought the blues driver from boss, could i use it when im playing the rythm in some led zep songs

  • do whatever the fuck you want

  • this is the best side by side demo of overdrive pedals on youtube! great playing man

  • Love your style. Nice sounding gear.

  • The blues tubes is a MBB kit from General Guitar Gadget?

  • yes it is.

  • awesome demo dude! AND playin!! i got a tonebone classic for 70 bucks and it sucks bad!! i DO like them blues tubes!

  • nevermind its all over

  • dude i heard some stevie in the beginning

  • ahh man.. sweet. seriously

and thats even with the crappy recording u used haha but its still amazing

    and your playing as well

  • that blues driver looks moded bright light

  • he said he had the H2O mod on it and i think they make the LED brighter too.

  • the H20 came with a clear led but I burnt it out on accident. i went to radio shack and got a super bright blue led and used that instead. you could light the whole frickin stage with that thing, i can't look at the pedal when i kick it on cuz it's blinding. haha.......live and learn

  • in that case, you might want to throw an extra resistor in there so it will limit the voltage and going through the led and make it dimmer lol

  • @jwblantCU i have a bbe with the same bright bright light i just spraypainted it black and its cheaper that way

  • I like the Blues Tubes and the Tube Screamer, but I like the Tube Screamer more just because Stevie used it.

  • Dunno if that's a good reason. Way too many people are trying to become carbon copies of SRV. It's pretty ridiculous.

  • I like the silver pedal one the best. You are a really good guitarist, who is really down-to-earth - no attitude kinda cat. Stay cool my man.

  • tube screamer is a mad face. haha

  • @6661VengeanceHarlot haha dude that's AWESOME!!! i didnt see that so good job m8

  • ha nicley spotted dude!

  • just a suggestion, pick up a danelectro cool cat drive....cheap as hell, but built like a tank, and its true bypass...i got one the other day, and it sounds way better than my blues driver...the blues driver is just a signal boost for me now....check reviews on this pedal, youll shit

  • wth r u talking about? I cant find your videos anywhere

  • awesome! made me a want to add a tube screamer to my collection. I'll probably build the bluesbreaker, too, to go with my shredmaster. hope you don't mind me saying but I find your southernness to fit like an old glove...I'm from northwest FL, NC, TX, and GA

  • where your born in the 4 squares or something how can you be from you mean lived in!?

  • Did you made this BLUES TUBES? Or it is from a brand? Witch brand?

  • where can I buy this particular blues driver pedal? I have some other model of it and it sounds like shit. Works for punk though

  • Blues tubes wins to me man!

  • TS is very SRVish, but the blues driver is the only good distortion pedal by boss

  • hahaha, whoah prob distorted the camera, hahaha, that was funny as.

    great vid, real good.

blues driver for the win imo. thought i would like the TS more, but nope.

  • Thanks. Very informative. Couldn't decide between the Tube Screamer and the Blues Driver. Leaning towards the Boss. Peace

  • nice playing man.

  • holy crap that sounds absolutly awesome.

  • where can you buy the blues tubes pedal????
