  • @PandaH8R to fail at trolling is immensely more pathetic. Get a job. Or a life.

If anyone is to blame it is the people that released him without making sure he was ready. Reintroducing animals into the wild is a very complex procedure as shown with many other species.

  • Many people think that Xiang Xiang was a brave panda for his "sacrifice," but in reality, he was a total wimp. Pandas have the easiest lifestyle; no hunting, just shoving bamboo into your face. Because he was too stupid to be able to find food in a bamboo-filled forest, he actually returned to the panda breeding ground where he was given bamboo on a silver platter. That is really pathetic, even for panda standards. I am glad that he died and I can't wait for the pandas to go extinct.

  • How could these humans believe pandas who grew up in artificial habitats with nursery and kindergartens full of plastic toys...would one day become fit enough

to go into the wild ALL ALONE!

These obsessed humans simply won't quit! Now they want to send yet another panda into the forest again!

Madness! What made humans think they have the right to decide whether a panda should be born, or how he should live his life?!

When XX was a cub, he never knew his life would end this way...

  • @ethystethyst i agree with u....a panda who grew up close to care of humans should not be considered wild animals anymore....it will be hard for them to live with other panda who grew up originally in the forest.....CRAZY PEOPLE....

  • I went to Wolong last month to see Xiang's mother and his twin brother Fok Fok.What I know is they are going to send a female panda to the wild in the future...I hope this is not another heart breaking story:(

  • Some people are so stupid, they don't know that releasing a captive panda into the wild only leads to trouble. The owners didn't realize that Xiang Xiang wasn't strong enough for the wild.

I can't stand to see a captive animal lost in the cruel, heartless wilderness. ;(

  • He is dead now! Should have learn a lesson this, why force him out!!!

  • I was horriified by reading Xiang Xiang's report at the Wolong panda club's webpage.

  • Poor Xiang was scared and wanted to go home. He found his way back , but he was stopped in front of the gates.

He is so beautiful ... everytime I think him I cry.

  • So sad to read about Xiang Xiang. But I am watching Mei Lan on panda cam and smiling for Xiang Xiang. Just hate that it happened to him. Very nice video to remember him by. Thanks, Cheryl

  • He's left this world and no longer needs to face the cruel wild. He will live safely and happily in the heaven.

  • ****!

  • They should have taught the poor captive panda some fighting skills. Maybe staged a fight or something. Of course it would get hurt when facing a more experienced wild panda because it never had the chance to go through such a thing before. I hope he is alright now.

  • poor xiang xiang

  • YEA i can under stand most of it

  • does anybody know how xiang xiang is doing these days??

  • he is ok now, not serious

  • Can anyone translate this report into English? Thank you

  • The panda that was released back to the nature was hurt. Researchers at Wolong took him back to check his health, they said the panda probably got bitten by other wild pandas while fighting for territory.

  • it simply said, Xiangxiang was injured when fighting with some wild pandas for territory.

  • thanks for this news about Xiang Xiang.

  • Thanks, Kitchan - sad story but great video report

  • Thank you for this video!

  • Thanks for sharing Kitchan.
