You know . One could spend lot of money buying sim racing rig !! Plus the games and a system . I believe you can buy a junk car fix it up then go racing .. Im a lic NHRA driver started out bracket racing at local tracks !! Just be smart about racing for the right amount of money !! Enter a big money race and win . Put money back into car , get ready for the next race .. After sometime you can start to make money . Big money if your good an lucky :-)
Dont laugh at me or flame me or anything but why cant they make a street racing sim?? not like NFS but like SLR redline that has lots of customizability and racing through town realistically with traffic, tire wear, damage to engine parts if pushed to hard or red lined because im not so into track racing sims..
because they don't want to be accused of inspiring stupid 20 somethings and teens to drive like that in real life .... kinda like the violence in video game - school shooting connection
but yea!, real traffic and shit is exactly what I want too.... just like NFS x1 !!!
If I'm not wrong it is a six speed gearshifter and it is part of the Logitech G25 steering wheel. I think you can buy it pretty much every specilized store.
hi guys how does forza2 compare with GT5 and another computer sim racing? im talking about the physics of the games. i know GT5 beats everything with it's graphic
oh cool, can u maybe include Race Pro in ur comparison? i think it might be a good simulation for xbox, but xbox doesn't have a wheel for it. What do u guys think? looking forward to ur new videos, thanks
Here is a little fact for ya.. the most active rooms in nascar racing 2003 online were, and still are the "fixed setup" rooms. I was getting my butt kicked in nascar 2009 on console until I spent hours and hours in the garage learning setups. NO such "fixed setup" option here. Bottom line tho, yeah consoles are "more" arcadey but I am trying to get ppl to realize the line is blurring.
Most console racers = young kids + just having fun not caring about wrecking ppl. Every once in awhile I'll find a really good group of guys online in nascar09 that really turns into some good quality racing. Very rare tho. lol Sad thing is with nascar 09 you MUST have steering help on to hit the really fast times. Which is definately arcade. Like I said, until the last 2-3 years the console's haven't had the infrastructure (no g25 support, low res, lack of online, no talking to eachother.)
given those facts, why would someone bother making an online racing sim for a console UNTIL now? If they can't make a sim now they have no excuse. Seriously these debates remind me of the people that say nascar takes no skill. It's emotional not rational.
console's have just recently been in the same ballpark as pc's with respect to graphics ability, resolution output, and wheel support. So hopefully more sim developers like simbin will make the leap to console. The price and the time is right... you can get a 360, simbin's race pro, 360 wheel(yeah it's not the best) for a total of $350 bucks. Prolly lookin at $800 for a pc, vid card, wheel, and game for pc. For the poor ppl, at least, lets hope that console bridges the gap quickly.
Very great point Dale !! I agree with you 100%. A lot of console titles are becoming more sim like.. Examples are Baja Edge of Control, Ferrari CHallenge and GT5. Can't wait to see what Race Pro does.. Supposedly the first true sim on a console... Darin
I would think that would get you a good system.. Check your local computer dealer.. When buying it, make sure it has a gaming graphics card, preferably Nvidia
best bang for the buck in wheels, no doubt.. best wheel is like Urbanski said, probably the ECCi, but they are over $1000 and no force feedback. Very well built though !

The consoles still don't compare to PC simulations in regards to physics. Stay tuned for a GT5 vs Forza 2 shootout :)

xbox has the Microsoft steering wheel that can be used in Race Pro, i use it, its not as good as the G25 wheel, but then again nothing is

i heard the Fanatec 911 wheel is much better than the G25, I had a G25. The shifter is making me mad.
