  • My face gets hit by my palm with the force of a supernova every time a creationist claims there are no transitional fossils.

EVERY FOSSIL IS TRANSITIONAL YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!

it hits my palm with the force of a multi galactic collision when people use arguments from irreducible complexity, it's such a childish thought to say "I don't get it, ergo nobody could possibly know ergo a wizard did it"

  • Mankind can not accept his own insignificance in the big picture, we are far less than dust mites in the cosmos.

  • Ahh! I love how mad all the Atheists fags are getting.

Hey Atheists fags.....U all mad bros?

  • @Redrum326 0/10

  • @21whitworth12

    Same.

  • @Redrum326 No, i mean your comment. 0/10

  • @21whitworth12

    Oh, so you mean 10/0?

    Mathamatical impossible.

But nice try and thanks anyway little fella.

    (ruffles hair)

  • @Redrum326 Another 0/10

  • @21whitworth12

    No u.

  • @Redrum326 0/10, a continuous unending cycle of utter fail

  • this is awesome!

  • Lets all believe what government payed scientists tell us YEAH!

  • @nukeusa911x2 Let's all assume the theories based on what logical thinking and hard evidence tells us are true YEAH!

  • @nukeusa911x2 As oppose to completely evidence-less texts written by people who though leeches and heroin cured cancer and believed Earth was Flat

  • Cool animations. Funny how creationists have no good videos

  • GIVE THEM NOTHING! BUT TAKE FROM TEHM EVERYTHING!

    Lol.

  • There Evolving Just Like Pokemon...

  • @THOMASGODBOUT123

What? Religious moron has evolved into scientist!

  • @XmrdX im not religeous im atheist

  • @THOMASGODBOUT123

Oh sorry it wasn't about you, just religious people in general. =)

  • @stevedekorte Other way around.

  • @stevedekorte Other way around.

  • Fossil records with transitional stages is the old proof.

DNA research and comparison is the new proof.

Everything evolves, even the computer I type this on as well as the web and Youtube. There has been transitional stages for all technology, new ideas built on top of old ideas.

If you think of DNA as being a type of computer running a program then it becomes easier to see.

  • @hurricanefloyd1 but an intelligent desighner made the computer and programed it.

  • @avenger391482

The true magnificence of the Universe is that it needs no God.

  • @MrHurricaneFloyd where is your evidence to prove that quote as true?

  • @avenger391482

Mankind's own science and mathematics give predictable reliable hints at a complexity to the Universe that is only diminished by any God or Gods of any religion.

  • @MrHurricaneFloyd that isn't proof or evidence thats just some quote you copy and pasted

  • @avenger391482

    I copied and pasted nothing.

What proof do you have that I am wrong?

  • @MrHurricaneFloyd you haven't even posted evidence or proof your just spouting atheist bull shit

  • @avenger391482

And you just spout moronic nonsense, period.

Theism is based on thin air whereas science is based on predictable and repeatable natural phenomenon.

Scientific observations show great evidence that mankind is extremely insignificant in the Universe.

  • @MrHurricaneFloyd this whole time you think i disown science. your prejudiced aren't you. if you look into it you will find the theory of evolution is flawed and ultimately untrue. as for spouting moronic nonesense thats what you have been doing while i've been trying to get to the point of this. if look at everything down to the most basic building blocks observable. atoms you will find everything works together in a way that could not of arising randomly but by intelligence. hows that moronic?

  • @avenger391482

You were the first to use insulting language.

Intelligence is an emergent property of the Universe, not the other way around.

Just because something is too complex for you to understand does not mean it has to be magic.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrHurricaneFloyd you used computer cod as an analodgy for DNA, my response was that an inteligence programmed it. how is that insultive? more of an observation. and who said I believe in magic? as for being complex I understand it Im just saying its too complex and organised to have arising randomly but was designed.

  • This is more someone who has a awesome imagination.

  • ok so an animated video.. wow.

  • @StarvMarv

Sadly, cameras didn't exist 500,000,000 years ago.

    Dipshit.

  • @foooooze oh... okay.. apparently we have found out exactly what went on "500,000,000" years ago.. amazing. sadly, time travel doesn't exist, but common sense does.

  • @StarvMarv

I'd be willing to bet your "common sense" is that a God in the sky created everything.

    Science>Folklore bullshit

  • @foooooze wow.. this is how you people are huh.. not at one time did i mention my belief and the best evidence you give is saying how 'dumb' other people's ideas are.. what a dick.

  • @foooooze amazing how much science had to take place just for you to be able to post those words, between the computer engineering, materials science, chemistry to make the computer you type this on and nuclear physics to give you electrons to power it with! Science is shit? Heck, without Einstein's theory of relativity, GPS wouldn't be practical because of how well it corrects for tracking errors. "Science is folklore shit" my ass.

  • @antiduh

Reread my comment you illiterate fuck. I never said "Science is folklore shit".

  • @foooooze Oh, so i see, i was supposed to interpret your rabid youtube babble to mean that science "is greater than" folklore bullshit instead of implying an association.

Funny how the guy that can barely express his thoughts without swearing every sixth syllable is calling me an illiterate fuck, I forgot what it's like to be some punk bitch 12 year old kid. You give everybody who fights for evolution and science a bad name. I'm sure you're too busy fucking your sister to care, though.

  • @StarvMarv What were you expecting?

  • Uh, where are all the feathers?

  • kick-ass choice for music.

  • @Gage371 Did you watch the video yet dipshit? :)

  • @Gage371 lol, you think I believe in the bible? LOL. You're funny :) Watch the video and educate yourself, son.

  • @Gage371 lol, it wasn't written in a book dumbass. Watch GOATS DECLASSIFIED: The True Story Behind The Men Who Stare At Goats. EDUCATE YOURSELF.

  • @Gage371 Watch GOATS DECLASSIFIED: The True Story Behind The Men Who Stare At Goats Type it in in your youtube search bar. School yourself. Find out something that wasn't picked and CHOSEN for you to learn.

  • @Gage371 lol, it wasn't a book dumbass. It was experimentation of the human mind, they had MEN sit down and stare at goats, there is military eyewitnesses to this. The government even openly ADMITTED IT due to the rights of information act. But they said it was a "failed" experiment. So answer my question... why would they bother experimenting with something that is "bollock" in your view?

  • @Gage371 Answer my question please. If it's "bollocks" then how come the government bothered with it?

  • @Gage371 I'm glad everyone is not as close minded as you. If that was the case you would get no where in this world! :O

  • @Gage371 so how come the government was involved with these things? I don't get it... if it's just "bollocks" why bother with it? lol... I love how you skeptics think :P you're so full of shit. It's unbelievable.

  • @Gage371 lol see. Exactly. Can't answer my question, people like you are TRASH. have a good day sir.

  • @Gage371 You didn't answer my question smart man, if the government experiments with psychic powers, like men staring at goats and killing them by their stare and trying to walk through walls. Then are they insane too?

  • right?

  • @Gage371 lol killing goats with mind tricks? our government done this, and they admitted to due to the rights of information act. the project was "the men who stare at goats" they based a movie off of it. So you must think the government is crazy and insane and need help too then right? They experimented with psychic powers! they are obviously, coo coo :P

  • @Gage371 Na... you missed my point, I meant they were more spiritually intact then we were, they were able to do a number of things mentally we can't do today, like hard labor, they were real self-reliant people, a lot less emotional problems back in those days then we got now, because of society.

  • Dude... you're about the most stupid evolutionist I have ever talked to.

  • @Gage371 Lol okay, so what you're saying is we have NO genes in our DNA that is different from any other animal on earth? That's what you're saying right?

  • @Gage371 lol, what about all the stories explaining their gods to be "physical" beings? All the ancient texts from the bible, saying angels came down having sex with humans then having babies with them, god making man in the garden of eden, the apple of knowledge. All these are stories that been with us since the dawn of civilization. Don't you think there's some truth behind them? Come on... you're a very ignorant and close minded person. You're dumb, and you believe everything your told.

  • @Gage371 lol, I didn't say "secret" genes dumby :P I said genes that are unique, genes that make us HUMAN. The genes in our DNA that makes us different from every other animal on the planet. How did they get there dipshit?

  • @Gage371 The evidence and the coincidences are all around us. UFO/abduction stories! There is millions and millions of eye witnesses. To shrug off all these people like they are idiots is a VERY ignorant thing to do. All the cases of government cover ups. I can go on and on. The suffering on earth, depression, sicknesses, us killing each other. Things never use to be THIS bad. And in a lot of ancient cultures they weren't.

  • @Gage371 lol you haven't seen evidence? What about all the ancient Sumerian stories of go'ds coming from the skies? The Aztect and Mayan stories of "gods" coming from the sky? Ancient Egypt. I can go on. Even China had their own "gods" coming down from the heavens stories and making man kind and teaching us civilization, the story is ALL the same. You think these people were making it up? If they said they had help, believe them. The bible is a CHOCK full of UFO activity when you read it.

  • @Gage371 UGH, if it had nothing to do with genes then we wouldn't of been able to figure these things out in the first place! Again! You're dumb. Please... stop. lol. You're making yourself look like an ass.

  • @Gage371 the research. There is genes, in our DNA that just "appeared" there. 200,000 years ago. That made human beings develop their full potential. We started wearing clothes and cooking our food and coming up with "inventions" AFTER we got these genes. WHY is it so hard for YOU to accept there are either two options to this story, they magically appeared there by evolution or they were put there intentionally. What's so hard for you to get? lol

  • @Gage371 I dunno. Do you believe there to be a civilization out there far more advanced then ours? There is... I know so for a fact. The universe is FAR too vast. We aren't the only ones. We are capable of sending people to the moon. And you act like we are the "only ones". Lol, you're REALLY narrow minded. Like I said, I'm glad people like you don't run today's world... we would NEVER progress scientifically. And like I stated numerous of times, I can't explain it that well, so I urge you to do

  • @Gage371 idea how they got there. And that's what I been trying to say to you. Either they were put there, or they appeared there magically by evolution/ And it's kind of hard to believe since animals never invented different genes over a long period of time, just us.

  • @Gage371 So genes have a lot to do with it. And these are the genes that differ from animals. Where the genes that allowed us to be human, science does not know. Our ape ancestor shares NONE of the human genes we have today, science looked at evolution down the line for most species on earth today, their ancient animal ancestors all share the common genes of w/e they are, reptile mammal... Now in the human DNA, we have primate genes, but there are also genes that are "unknown" and science has no

  • @Gage371 So how did they discover them? By intelligence right? And genes come from intelligence. So obviously, if you a kid was to raise himself, in the wild, away from society... never learning a thing but besides learning it from himself, eventually the kid would wear clothes, because of the environment, the cold. It's programmed in our genes to do so. So... you're wrong. Sorry.

  • @Gage371 if the ancient people were TAUGHT to do these things, and they didn't learn by themselves, then wouldn't that be evidence of an alien race teaching them how to? Your arguement works both ways... lol, you say genes have nothing to do with it, and they were taught so then if they were tuaght, obviously it was by an alien race. Now if genes had something to do with their intelligence and the way they think... then they learned those things on their own.

  • @Gage371 I dunno about that... how did the ancient people first learn how to cook their food? wear clothes? Obviously something in their brain, told them to do that. So genes have a lot to do with everything.

  • like you on the daily* ugh, excuse me.

  • @Gage371 Again... you're an idiot, and you're basing this argument off of your OWN ego. lol I deal with kids like you in the daily. Most of them Christians though, you're just as worse.

  • @Gage371 Intelligence COMES from genes. Dumbass. And that's what you don't get. The DNA is the blueprint of the body.

  • @Gage371 lol creepy? your drawing is creepy. You probably LOOK creepy in real life. And you're probably ugly. Why should I care what you say?

  • @Gage371 That's funny... they called the man who discovered gravity "insane" when he told people about his theory. They called the man who said the earth wasn't flat insane too... You're a fucking sheep kid :) Learn something on your own for once.

  • necessary* excuse my spelling.

  • @Gage371 lol, how so? Explain to me how I'm insane sir :P You just can't call someone insane because they are going against your ideas.

  • @Gage371 lol then why can't we teach animals how to wear clothes? cook food? Hmm? If it's just "learned" behavior then that's something they can do too... I'll tell you why, because they CAN'T. They don't got the nescarry genes in their DNA that allows them to learn the way WE DO. Don't you get it? Jesus Christ dude, you're fucking stupid! And the really ANNOYING thing is, you think you're right. lol, come on. Let get of your EGO. Seriously...

  • @Gage371 lol and let's not get personal here... I can tell just by your profile pic of the drawing of a reindeer with hair and a smiley face you're a douche bag in real life and probably don't get laid, even ugly. But I don't make fun of you about that do I? I'm not a close minded person like everyone else. How humans became to be is not 100% certain yet, even the biggest scientist today can tell you that. So why not look at all the possibilities? Think about it... stop being a close minded ass.

  • @Gage371 LOL how am I insane? Because I believe we are something more then just monkeys? Is that why I'm insane? lol people like you are a joke. You're VERY close minded. Thank god we don't got people like you running the government. I'm guessing you don't believe in psychic powers neither? As in kill a goat just by looking at it?

  • @Gage371 yea, 200,000 years ago when we did reach our modern day potential, we started cooking food. wearing clothes, able to reason, mathmatics, cook our food. Things our ancestors couldn't do. 200,000 years ago is when the necassary genes appeared in our DNA. And how did they get there? only two ways... evolution, or they were put there. What the founder of DNA has said anyways.

  • @Gage371 Bad profile pic by the way... who ever drew that picture can't draw! lol!

  • off shrooms. It doesn't make sense to me... Oh well. Some day we will find out the truth.

  • @Gage371 but you're right though, it doesn't mean aliens "tampered" with our DNA. but there is ALWAYS the possibility, whether you can accept it or not. According to ancient civilizations and all the stories, and the bible. It says other wise... these are all eye witness accounts. Yea... It could be just their "imagination" but then there's always the possibility it wasn't. And I personally believe, if it was their imagination, they wouldn't believe it to be true, unless they were all tripping

  • @Gage371 this is getting old. Drop it. You got flaws in your arguments, a lot of them. I suggest you retake school :)

  • @Gage371 no... not really, the time man became fully human (about 200,000 years ago according to wikipedia) we were always wearing clothes... this is something that comes from the way you think, and also the way you think comes from genes. The only genes primates share with humans is ones that aren't even special, more animal like. The genes we got that makes us different from every other animal on earth are also the genes that make us intelligent and capable of reason. Come on dude...

  • @Gage371 but you haven't gave me any good reasons why we evolved the way we did... a "change in diet" and "walking on two feet" ain't the reason why. I can say that about a number of animals, and they haven't evolved into a species as intelligent as a human being, and we evolved FAST. Faster then any other species on this planet.

  • @Gage371 Reality and rationality, way to go. I also base reality off the same thing you do :) Just because I'm a "crazy" conspiratist doesn't mean I don't look at the facts. And the fact is, we got genes in our DNA (that differs from every other animal on earth) that makes us human, intelligent. For one... we wear clothes, we are AWARE of being naked. Animals do not. If they had the same human genes we do, they would. You can say evolution done it or we were genetically manipulated. One of the 2

  • @Gage371 and correction... yes you are trying to be a "smart guy" or it wouldn't of been sucha big deal to you in the first place.

  • @Gage371 im saying, without certain genes, we are unable to cook, be aware we are naked when we are wearing clothes, be able to reason, do mathmatics. There's a number of things we can not do without certain genes that make us what we are, human and intelligent. If animals had the same genes a human being does, they would be human... in a way. and yea... no shit you can teach a child to cook and clean, this is learned through behaviour, so how come a dog can't learn how to do these things too?

  • @Gage371 I didn't say teach moron, and yes there is. look it up. genes have a lot to do with everything we do... if all animals had human genes, best believe they would be just as intelligent as we are, but hey I'm done with you. You're a dumbass :) and you don't put on a very good "smart guy" act. Bye.

  • @Gage371 You're NOT smart. All the information that you know has been HANDED to you, something anyone can learn. If you want to be "smart" solve a major human problem, figure something out Science hasn't yet. Do something progressive for the human race. That's smart. What you're doing, is just being an ignorant ass :P You don't know FOR SURE how the human race became to be, even the smartest scientist in the world would tell ya that. Now fuck off! I'm done with you. You live and think in a box.

  • @Gage371 I want you to name all our genes in the human DNA, the genes that makes us decide to cook our foood, wear clothes, solve mathmatical problems, and reason. These are all things animals do NOT have. So my question is, wehre did these genes come from? Did they "magically" appear there or were they put there? It's either those two questions. Every ancient culture in the WORLD claims the human race was created by "sky gods". And quit trying to act "smart". You aren't impressing me dude.

  • @Gage371 how come herbiviorous ancestors even know how to build a fire or even use fire, back before they ate meat (is what your stating) and how come are other ape like ancestors aren't intelligent like we are? You can't become "smart" just by eating meat and a change of diet over years and years, if that was the case we wouldn't be the only intelligent species on this planet, a change in diet might do something, but not give us the special genes we have now that makes us human.

  • @Gage371 lol, I don't see how it's so hard for YOU to believe something special happened with the human race and evolution ISN'T the full story. This earth has been here billions and billions of years, not ONE race over those billions of years has popped up that's intelligent, it didn't take millions and millions of years for the human being to become smart and AWARE, it's only beena short time. A couple hundred thousand years. (Read wikipedia human race). So how MY question is...

  • I want to hear this from a scientist.

  • @Gage371 So what you're saying is, humans knew how to "cook" their food before they actually became smart by eating meat? How come the proteins in meat didn't make other species brain size increase? How come we are the only smart species? I can name a number of omnivores that aren't human. Species been eating meat since the dawn of time, none of them are like humans? So where are you getting from? I really don't think you know what you're talking about, just some idiot who does :)

  • @Gage371 A lot of bird like animals walk on two feet. Let's change their diet. What do you suggest they start eating for them to become more like us?

  • @Gage371 I BELIEVE human beings are the members of the ape family. What I don't get is why we are ahead of every one of our ancestors in the evolutionary process by thousands and thousands of years. And it has something more to do then just a "change in diet". I'm not going to delve into this further with you, science has explained quite clearly they don't understand how human beings became, they know we evolved... but still, this is their words not mine, they don't understand the whole story

  • @Gage371 ok, then let's do that to our pets, give them bipedalism and change their diet,t hen over time they can be intelligent beings :)

  • @Gage371 Our government messed around with psychic phenomenon, the men who stare at goats... they based a movie off of it. you should watch the documentary, if our government messed around with it. trust me... it's no joke. and I admit, this has NOTHING to do with what we're talking about, but I'm just making a point, there is things hidden from us. They are holding back information, human history and the TRUE power of the mind.

  • @Gage371 and there is evidence, ancient texts and stories. ancient Sumeria, Egypt... I can go on and on about their gods. The bible... all these are eyewitness accounts and they were important enough to be written down and be around for such a long time. It's HISTORY. Like that saying off assassin's creed... truth turned into myth, myth turned into legend. These ancient stories HAVE some truth behind them. I bet you don't believe in Psychic powers either?

  • @Gage371 Yea, because we haven't found SOLID evidence yet. I admit that, but AGAIN. Science only decoded a small percentage of our DNA. The rest is unkown. If you got the answers to something science doesn't, then please show me. You'll be the first on CNN.

  • not*

  • @Gage371 Again... science has no completely decoded our DNA. There is genes in our DNA that differs and what makes us so much smarter then any other animal. Where these genes came from? Science doesn't know, they either evolved there... just popped up. Or they were put there. I can't give you the name of the gene, but I'm sure if you took time out of your boring ass life, you can find it. Those are the facts. So there IS a possibility. I'm done with your ignorant ass. Believe what you want.

  • @Gage371 I'm not saying "aliens" created us. I'm just saying science has figured out 100% sure that we evolved from monkeys, or why we are so different compared to all our ancestors and every other animal on the planet. There's a missing link, and aliens coming down "AkA Jehovah and his angels" and manipulating human DNA CAN BE a possibility. The story of adam and eve is all around the ancient world but the only difference is name changes. To shrug offf myths and stories like these is ignorant.

  • @Gage371 lol... I knew that was coming. It's true though... there's a missing link. And to shrug of ALL possibilities and just saying we evolved from monkeys without being there and knowing FOR SURE, is very very very ignorant :) Anyways though... believe what you been taught. You're a good programmed sheep :)

  • @Gage371 Watch Ancient Aliens - The Visitors - {s01e02} 1:10:43

  • @Gage371 lol, ok... how come I looked it up and I found it? You're obviously not doing a good job at trying to "look it up". Look up the man who discovered DNA. He talks about it.

  • @Gage371 lol pathetic? please... it's pathetic to categorize one group of music as all "shit". And do yourself a favor, do some research. Look up the man who discovered DNA. He talks about that different gene. There's a missing link in our evolutionary process.

  • @Gage371 Oh yea... and rap ain't crap. Music is music, and all kinds of different music makes people feel good. I see you're a very narrow minded person :) Good for you.

  • @Gage371 ------> continues. So who should I believe? The men who discovered DNA or some idiot (you) that never discovered anything in your life, and all the information you know has been handed to you. I'm going to go with the man who discovered DNA, but thanks.

  • @Gage371 lol, they are FARRRRRRR behind. An average adult Chimpanzees has the IQ of like a 7 year old. They don't know reasoning, or have the genes that are necessary that makes them smart like us. You can call me a liar, I know how people like you work. You only believe the information that was HANDED to you. :) Look up the founder of DNA. He is the man that talks about this "special" gene in humanity. And he believes life was brought here by intelligence. He is the founder of DNA.

  • @Severe777 LOL I'm sorry, did I say 7 year old? I meant 3.

  • @Gage371 Yea, also the person who discovered DNA also discovered genes in our DNA that are unique compared to every other animal. I forgot what the gene is called but they say it's what makes human beings smart and capable of what they are able to do today. How that gene got there is two ways, it magically appeared there or it was PUT there. If you look at all our "ape like" ancestors, we are far ahead of them in the evolutionary process. We look nothing like them.

  • what total fiction

  • lol it's really hard to imagine a monkey evolving into something like a human being, capable of creating nuclear weapons and other things that are totally not animal like. I don't know... there has to be more to it. I believe.

  • @Severe777

"a monkey evolving into something like a human being, capable of creating nuclear weapons" Just saying, certain packs of Chimps have taken up javelins to kill small rodents hiding in three holes. Further, common ancestor, NOT evolved from monkeys, which, depending on definition, we still are.

  • @wimscheers lol, so? if you look at all our ancestors they look nothing like us. how come not one of these primates evolved the way humans did? and how did we evolve so fast? Why are we so different looking? It doesn't make sense. Answer me that.

  • @Severe777

"all our ancestors they look nothing like us" That's ... basically the point. But are you telling me Gorilla's, Orangutans and Chimps all look the same? Then again, a Chihuahua doesn’t ‘resemble’ a Great Dane much either. But I'm having trouble with your concept of ancestors; Do you mean the whole homo erectus habilis all the way back to lucy lineage? Because other modern apes certainly aren’t our ancestors.

  • @wimscheers lol Gorilla, Orangutans, and chimps ALL look a lot more closer to the SAME then humans do, with ANY of them. Are you really that blind and stupid? Come on... how come we look SO different? It's a question we can't answer but I believe there's something else, that is kept hidden from us. That's my thoughts though.

  • i love htese movies. im a big evolution fan. and this is the 300 music. whats the name of the song

  • This Video could only be better at all if the Monkey turned into Trent Reznor - the guy who composed the music this is set to. THAT'D be cool.

  • Some people have an intellectual experience that leads them to God, like C.S. Lewis. Not me. I was dumber than a box of rocks about the Bible and God. All I knew was that I was desperate for something to fill my empty, pathetic life with purpose & meaning. Some have said that God is a crutch for me. Not true! He's my very life and breath. The fact that the Creator God could love a man like me is absolutely beyond my comprehension. Right now I am resting in His love. Thank you, Father.

  • @saintkris1947 So you both recognized that your lives had no true purpose and you both turned to religion because of it preached that someone out there is looking out for you as well as the messages of peace it expressed? No offense but I've seen all sides of human nature. Not every story has happy endings like that. All over the world there is suffering and conflicts. The only solution has always been human ingenuity and cooperation, not "divine intervention".

  • @Video...I was trying to be perfectly honest by saying that my conversion was NOT an intellectual conversion but an experiential one. Here's what I've found over the years of speaking to non-theists. Almost without exception their problem with God was not an intellectual one. It 's usually because they've been hurt or seen others hurt by ignorant or over zealous "Christians". I know it's trite but true--"Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven." I've met some obnoxious Christians in my life.

  • @saintkris1947 I have different reasons for being atheist. My family is totally non-religious and never really talked or thought about God. I wasn't even aware there was such a thing as religion until I was nine. Meanwhile I spent my time watching and reading about science/history as much as possible. Knowledge and intellect is a gift that has been major guiding light for civilization, and I don't see how our collective knowledge can be wrong about something simple like the age of the earth.

  • @Video...Knowledge is power, but it's like a knife--It can be used to cut up food for survival or it can be used to take a life. How it's used is like knowledge--It can be a great tool for great good or a sharp tool for evil. Solomon said, "With all your knowledge, get wisdom." Wisdom is the proper application of knowledge. In my worldview God unifies knowledge into wisdom. He answers the ancient question of the one and the many (unity & diversity) by His very trinitarian Being.

  • @saintkris1947 True, power could be used for good or evil and wisdom is just as important. But knowledge is a part of wisdom. In most cases an educated person is proportionately wiser and tolerant than an uneducated person. God is also not needed either. Common sense, morals and knowledge is all that is necessary.

  • @Video...Whose morals? What exactly do you mean by common sense? Without a unifying authority the 'brute facts' about the cosmos have no consistent way to hold together except in an inconsistent, self-centered or subjective way. I believe that true wisdom comes from 'thinking God's thoughts after Him', so to speak. My worldview is unified by God & His revelation in the Bible. Bottom line--The foundations for all true wisdom are found in God's word, the Bible.

  • @saintkris1947 Morals that are common to most people regardless of culture. The Golden rule, no killing, no stealing, etc. as well as the western idea of equality and freedom of speech. And although the Bible contains a few of these things, it was not the originator nor the source of morality. Morals have existed long before it. The bible even contains many things we consider immoral today like slavery, genocide, inferior women, homophobia and so on.

  • @Video...In the strict usage of the word moral you are right (Sociology 101). Mores are simply accepted behavior by a particular culture--Like cannibalism, Muslim suicide bombers, etc. These behaviors are accepted mores in their cultures--They are 'moral' for them. I should have used the word 'ethics' which implies standards that sometimes go against cultural mores (such as human sacrifice, female genital mutilation, etc.). How does the golden rule fit with the survival of the fittest?

  • You're acting as if different cultures means totally different sense of right and wrong. Most people are not eager to kill, cannibalize and so on unless in extreme situations. Suicide bombers only apply to Muslim extremists, an equivalent to the KKK in our christian culture. Survival of the fittest doesn't inhibit cooperation. It just means that certain people have more advantages. i.e. Everyone is given the same healthcare but the athletic ones still have greater chances for a long life.

  • @Video...My point is that in your worldview there is no objective standard for ethics. What right have you got to tell the cannibal it's wrong for him to eat his enemies? What right do you have to impose your morals on the muslim suicide bomber? If I'm 'fitter' than my neighbor what right do you have to impose your moral standards on me by telling me I can't take by force what he has? What right do you have to tell the muslim female sexual mutilator that he's wrong? By what standard???

  • @saintkris1947 In a true sense, rights do not exist, just like laws, government, currency, equality, leaders and so on. They are all ideas that a majority mutually agree on to protect/benefit themselves and others at the cost of freedom in certain areas. In fact, most people commit such atrocities under the idea that the victim is not an equal being, feel obligated to serve a higher power or in extreme scenarios. Is equality truly "right"? No, nothing is, but equality is agreed upon by most.

  • @VideoHunter13 So, if 'most' don't believe that equality is 'right' then it's not right? And, if the majority in a culture agree that non-theists are worthy of death, then it's 'right' to administer the death penalty? Using this logic, then, the cannibal is 'right' because he is acting on a "mutually agreed" upon behavior--Eating his enemies. Again, without an objective standard what gives you the right to restrict or judge another person's actions?

  • @saintkris1947 That is how the world works. There is no such thing "objective" standard, only subjective. The right for people to restrict or judge others is based on the majority. That is why political conflicts exist in the first place. It is, however, known that equality is more fair than anything else because it forces us to view others as human beings, not a target to suicide-bomb or enemies to cannibalize. Whether it's right or not is up to society.

  • @VideoHunter13 So if 'society' says it's a good thing to stuff Jews in the gas chamber, then it's moral? If it's 'survival of the fittest' then who the heck cares about your view of 'equality'? If I have a bigger club or more people on my side, then we can decide to do anything we want to do & you need to accept it as 'moral'. I'm not being condescending when I say that you need to think this out to get more clarification in your thinking. "If there is no God, then all things are permissible."

  • @saintkris1947 Look, you really need to check your history. Only recently with the rise of technology and modernization has fairness and equality ruled. 50 years ago segregation was fine. 230 years ago equality didn't exist. 500 years ago, burning witches was okay. 1000 years ago, killing people with differing opinions was doing a favor for God. But now people don't think like that. Which is why we consider it immoral. Morality is popular opinion. It can change and has changed over time.

  • @VideoHunter13 Let's see, technology & modernization in the 20th century lead to...44-78,000,000 killed by Mao De Dung's atheistic communism. 23,000,000 killed by atheist rulers of the USSR. 12,000,000 killed by Hitler's atheistic National Socialism.7,000,000 killed by the godless communists in Cambodia. And let's not forget the 50,000,000 plus unborn babies killed in the U.S. since 1973. Salem witches killed +- 20. And this is progress? This is equality?

  • Yes, but it was not technology nor the scientific method that killed them. It was by dictators who essentially replaced religion with worship and servitude to themselves, which is just as bad. Hitler was not atheist, he actually opposed it. I was also referring to witchhunts in Europe. Abortions don't count until the brain actually develops in the baby. Not to mention the millions of lives saved and prolonged by science. Without rapid media communication, equality wouldn't be maintainable.

  • @Video...I'm still puzzled by your use of 'equality'--Define what you mean. EEG can detect measurable brain activity at 40-44 days after conception. "National Socialism and religion cannot exist together...Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things." Adolf Hitler. "dictators who essentially replaced religion with worship &servitude to themselves" Romans Chapter 1 verses 18-27 Technology & true science are great.

  • @saintkris1947 By "equality" I mean equal and fair rights to certain things like court, speech, etc. The EEG activity after 40 days thing is a common unproven "fact" thrown around by pro-life people. Even so, it does not imply a functional brain. The sensory part of the brain doesn't start to develop until week 26. Yes technology and science are great, but again, neither requires religion.

  • @VideoHunter13 There's some good info at brainmind com/fetalbraindevelopment. Genetically we both know the child is complete and separate from mother at conception. Heart starts beeting within weeks. If it implants properly it only needs what we all need, food, water, and a protective environment. It's interesting that your concept of 'equality' was penned by Moses 2,000 B.C. The law was equally applied to rich, poor, male, female and even to the aliens who lived among the Israelites.

  • @saintkris1947 What matters to me is "sentience" in a fetus. When it started off as a single cell, it was separate genetically but it's not a being capable of thought or emotions. All things need food, water and such, even something as simple as bacteria. But once that fetus develops the tools needed to think, do I consider it "human". It doesn't bother me a bit that Moses has a similar concept equality, that doesn't suggest anything regarding God.

  • @saintkris1947 Hmmmm, you may be onto something with Hitler being atheist. Still, I never said being atheist automatically makes you a moral/better person than a Catholic. Ignorance in understanding/knowledge is just as bad. Besides, human nature has always used twisted ideologies to support wrong doings. Whether it be "killing in the name of God" despite the commandment, or "survival of the fittest" despite the actual explanation of natural selection.

  • @Video... Actually the commandment is against murder. The Church has almost always stood behind a 'just war' doctrine (Augustine) and one that justifies killing to protect innocent life (including your own). At the risk of sounding unpatriotic, we haven't fought many 'just wars', especially lately. I say this as one who has seen war 'close up'. I was a Marine machine gunner in Viet Nam & fought in the battle for Khe Sahn in 1968. War & killing is uglier & more brutal than most can imagine.

  • But here's the thing. The Church is flawed in judgement regarding war. They lacked understanding. It's not like today where we have mass media depicting the other side as thinking, feeling people too. Back then it was "they have different beliefs, they are evil, kill them." It is unfair, and again how can the true religion be wrong such things? It's flawed, it's biased, it's human; exactly like all the other religions on this planet.

  • @VideoHunter13 To be honest it would be very hard for me to justify the wars going on. Possible exceptions would be the people in the South Sudan who are fighting a protective action against the Muslims in the North. Having said that, God DID at times order the extermination of whole nations thru the means of Israel. Because God has the ultimate power over life (as its Creator) He can (and does) exercise judgment over a person or a nation. BUT, this command was NOT against all other nations.

  • @saintkris1947 Again, there's no proof of God's influence. If he truly does decide these things then he makes wrong decisions a lot and is negligent in many cases. And if he is the ultimate power over life, is there such thing as free will? What about the way we think and behave? If he is the ultimate creator then he is responsible for our personalities and life influences. Being omnipotent he would also know how we will act in the future and decide things, is that not true?

  • @VideoHunter13 I'm gone for a week or so. When I get back I'd like to talk more about this subject. This is a pivital area. Just as a 'teaser'--Yes God knows the future. In fact, He infallably 'declares' the future before it happens. God is sovereign over all. My contention will be that ONLY when God is presupposed can there be any foundation for choice, responsibility, freedom, etc. I DON'T believe in 'free will' the way that most Christians do. See you in about a week. Thanks for the exchange.

  • @saintkris1947 I'll be looking forward to it. We'll continue this in a week, enjoy whatever you're doing.

  • @saintkris1947 Also, just curious, how exactly do you fit the whole "Christianity/Judiasm didn't exist 3000 years ago and religions like Buddhism, Hinduism and various other religions did" into your perception of history?

  • @VideoHunter13--I'm back. Naturally Christianity only began after the ministry of Christ about 2,000 years ago. But Judaism began probably about 3,000 years before that with the call of Abraham. It's possible that Abraham's sons (not Isaac) who were sent to the east, were the Asian ancestors--I don't know. But we can presume they had a cursory understanding of God's being and works. Of course those truths were adulterated over time as they lost touch with the godly line of Isaac.

  • @saintkris1947 Technically Judaism began 3000 ago, not 3000 years before Christ. Therefore Abraham's sons couldn't be responsible for Asian religions like Hinduism (7500 years ago). Even around the area where Judaism originated, others were already well established like Mesopotamian gods (4600 years ago), Egyptian gods (5200 years ago) and so on. Strange, if all of mankind truly derived from just two people who met God, how can polytheism arrive long before anything close to Abrahamic religions?

  • @VideoHunter13 You're probably right about Abe's sons. He only lived about 2000 BC or so, so it had to be one of the earlier line of Adam. There were true worshippers before Abraham (and even for a time, contempory to Abe) but God chose Abe's 'line' for His chosen people and for the lineage of Christ. Abe had Isaac (the promised son) & Isaac had Jacob who's name God changed to 'Israel'. Israel had 12 sons who became the 12 tribes.

  • That doesn't answer my question of "if mankind originated from only two people who directly interacted with God, why where there so many polytheistic religion not related to judaism/christianity in early human history?

  • @VideoHunter13 Very soon after creation Eve was tempted & sinned & Adam followed in this sin. Then the cosmos itself as well as man, became subject to death--We would say that the 2nd Law took effect. The promise of a Redeemer in Gen. 3:15 was followed by the sad case of their firstborn, Cain, becomming the first murderer. So rebellion became a natural consequence of the fall. Cain's line became a godless people who were soon involved with all kinds of sin and rebellion including idolatry.
