Just so's yer aware, this little bout was more about torque than horsepower. It's a pulling contest, remember. And the GM 5.7 in 96 put out 336 lb/ft of that. Which is quite a bit for a gas motor. And yeah a ford could have done it. If it were hooked up to a gas station. Fords back in the day sucked up so much gas it wasn't even funny. Well, funny for the guys watching their fill ups every week.

That wasn't realy cause it was a chevy, that truck had more surface area on the pavement with those nice big tires. The rodeo's tires were clearly crap cause they were doing burnouts with them so easily. The intrepid, well I dont know much about those but it clearly doesnt have much power. All that helps in pulls are tires, power, and gearing. Not what manufacturer made that vehicle. That only effects, reliability, comfort, build quaility. All having nothing to do with a pull.

The 96 Dodge Intrepid had either a 3.3 or3.5L six cylinder engine. I had one myself and it was good. Good acceleration, great handling. If it was a rear wheel drive, it would have been a true beast...but against a silverado. No contest!

u can see the isuzu broke traction ruining the pull and the intrepid is FWD that probably broke traction easy if it was gunned hard. both isuzu and intrepid jumped when they lost traction. isuzu might have made a difference though it does way enough but i dont think it was on 4x4
