Ok i have to respond to the title itself so who almost got killed the turkey? i sure hope that turkey's ok if not may he RIP and be eaten mmm natural turkey
Hey, no fair! Your killing wildlife the nonchalant way. First the bear, then the turkey. Tell Vicky and the Dog to stop nagging you while your driving so you can pay better attention to the road. Haha sorry about your RV.
Wow, very lucky! On a trip I took some years ago, we were in Alaska at the time on the gravel roads and a truck flew by and knocked a rock through the wind shield. It was so much glass everywhere from it and had shattered the drivers side so badly, and we drove it home to Atlanta GA like that also. Those wind shields are very strong because we were shocked also that it held and this was on a 2000 Winnebago Adventurer.
Had it been me, I would have duck taped around the windshield, just to make sure it would not fall out while driveing the rest of the way home. Also would have worn eye protection incase of flying splinters of glass.
If I had my window down he would have hit me square in the face then who knows where I would be today. It's always funny in a way but also very serious.
I have had a similar experience happen to me. I drove a delivery truck (2000 Ford Ranger) for an auto parts store in Cincinnati. While heading westbound on Ronald Reagan HYWY I was struck by a GOOSE! He was decending flying northbound to a lake on the northside of the HYWY. The Goose sturck the driver side mirror, Glass and rear pillar of the door, Smashing the mirror and the glass. Not a fun experience when traveling at 65MPH+ and approatching a bridge.
well that sucks what next is gonna be hit?a moose?a deer?another car?a grizzly bear perhaps lol but it does suck to get in a wreck i should know ive had 7 so far but never hit any animal except for a dog always count your stars cause i have stayed clean from wrecks going on 3 years and no tickets just cause im always alert now btw do you need a cdl to drive an rv?ive always wondered about that
Wow, thank goodness for safety glass huh! I nearly hit a turkey hen with her chicks with my classC last month on the Natchez Trace Parkway. She just ran right out in front of me. I was going about 45mph at that time, so slammed my brakes too. However, she would have gone under me & I would have felt awful for those chicks. She got across safely. Count your lucky stars & take care of that angel on your shoulder! Yikes, you hit a bear with your truck!?? yowza!
i hope your face, hair and eye and turkey and motor home are ok!!! loosa

You can learn something every day - I didn't know turkeys actually flew. Well, that one isn't going to do that again.

You can get one of those windshield repair kits at WalMart. It will keep the crack from getting bigger.
