  • This hostess got a conclusion: Taiwan is a country, and hopefully she'll have a chance to interview Taiwan UN representative soon.....

  • CNN <----- Western value centered, biased, working for western imperialists, owned by a big fat capitalist~~~~~seeking for western dominance in global ideaology and cultural values~~~~ TO ME ITS JUST A PIECE OF SHIT~

Enough said, CNN = piece of Shit!~~~~~

    Culture

  • Talking about the fight for independence may sound like liberty, but just imagine if one day New York says we want to detach from USA

  • The difference with Taiwan, "deadpeng" (?) from "Benin" (?), is that New York is part of the US (which is why there's probably no "anti-secession" law or "NY independence" movement), while Taiwan has never been part of the PRC. Oh, and the other states of the US aren't pointing missiles at NY.

  • Taiwan has never been part of China?Lol it had been part of China until Jiang Jie Shi wanted indepence so that he can carry out his own rules because he could not become the ruler of china but mao zhe dong rejected.Until today taiwan still doesnt give up because ofd the legacy he left behind zzzzz

  • Which planet are you on, "deadpeng"? Chiang Kai-shek's goal was to "retake the mainland" and to "unify China." The DPP wants Taiwan's independence to be recognized. It has *never* been part of the PRC. Read my words carefully. Come back when you've done some research.

  • Oh i just realized you are from taiwan, so you are brainwashed already. pointless to argue with you.

  • "[F]rom [T]aiwan"? No. In Taiwan? Yes.

"[B]rainwashed"? I think for myself, thank you.

"[P]ointless to argue with [me]"? With the kind of "logic" you're using, absolutely!

  • Lol sorried all my books and sites did mention taiwanese origining from china and taiwan was part of china. I know you are very patriotic, but please face the fact, all your fellow taiwan tell you taiwan s itself because thats propaganda. Please what your parents say are not always right.

  • Loller, you'd better find some new books and sites written by someone other than the PRC's Ministry of Propaganda.

    Read this slowly and carefully:

    * * *

The PRC flag has never flown over Taiwan.

    * * *

    Face that fact.

  • Now here's a man who just ordered the release of 10,000 convicted criminals, which has so far resulted in 14 deaths by drug overdose and one murder. He also faces indictment on charges of graft and forgery when he ceases to have presidential immunity. Do you really think he's fit to lead a country?

  • This is yet another copout which ignores the part the pan-blues played in the amnesty of those criminals. Although it didn't sound like a good idea to begin with, it was the pan-blue version which was tailored to letting Chiu Yi fill an at-large seat that let more serious criminals out.

If you submit any more comments, try to take a few breaths between each, 'kay?

  • He deliberately makes provocative statements and endangers the Taiwanese people. If China does use military force to take Taiwan as a result of Chen's pro-independence stance, then do you really think that Chen himself will be on the front line fighting? Or will he use the money that he has (illegally) accumulated to leave the island behind and hide himself in the sweaty folds of America's obesity?

  • Ignoring China's missiles and the diplomatic isolation they have caused Taiwan is what harms the people of Taiwan the most. Blaming Chen Shui-bian for this is a copout. And as far as I know, many of the pan-blues have American passports and own homes in the US. Who are you trying to fool?

  • Peace in this part of the world will only come about through a closer relationship between Taiwan and China. The sooner that Chen does the honourable thing, and step down, the better.

  • Real peace in the Taiwan Strait will only result when both the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) stop claiming the same territory -- especially the part known to the world as Taiwan.

Honor comes from winning elections democratically and promoting the will of the majority without violating the rights of the minority. The sooner people like yourself realize that, the better.

  • I do believe that Chen Shui BIan is a very determined and strong leader that i have ever seen , he already survived a lot of threats to topple him from his office and he is still in control .. clever president ! just the right man to run a country .... hurray A-Bian !

  • Who cares about Taiwan, give them independence, and let them do what they want. Taiwan politics are beyond Barbaric anyways.

  • Barbaric (with a capital "B"!)? Unlike, say, Alabama (watch?v=cviz4DJK5wg) or China, where gangsters are sent out en masse by authoritarians to beat up whole villages? It is no surprise that your first phrase is exactly what Sha Zukang said about Taiwan (watch?v=i996AYrrUBQ 2'10"). 誰理你, Balencian?

  • Come on President Chen. China's security relies on the independence of Taiwan.

  • Look at HONGKONG,people's life become better

u want peace or u want war,

of course u TaiwanessAmerican don't care about that

    cuz ur in us

  • True, but the mainland already show some signs to force Taiwan to unify w/ them. Of course, we want peace but in the same time we want IND.

  • Biggest Joke ever about u said hong kong people's life become better. Please do some research b4 u put out these shit

  • We should try boycotting everything we possibly can. Don't buy cell phones that are Nokia, or Motorola. I'm not sure what Samsung cell phones are made in. Also, write letters to your local stores with every reason why China products should not be purchased and ask them not to carry any China products.

  • thank you!!!!

  • Let the truth be known.

    Good Job.

    Keep up the good work!!!!

  • No war Just Peace

  • Can't argue with that!
